  1. Hey Mack , salesman told me here ago. He wasn’t sure what the deal was but he heard it was visibility. I don’t know either, but that made sense to me.
  2. I got nothing else everybody else did it ha ha thanks for that…. Bob
  3. you know i would give it another shot,,,,because im sure its still there but driving 600 miles round trip doesn't excite me,,,,thanks for your input paul i just wish i would have grabbed it now when i was down there ,,and yes off set cab bonnets out here are extinct ,bob
  4. Same here 330 wake up every Monday or Tuesday after a holiday… bob
  5. I like the idea about the rolling chassis. I just noticed that Meco that’s in genius and it would be a lot easier to transfer the sheet metal. He could probably pick all that up or just two or 3000. Of course it would take a little bit of browsing around and patience. Good luck, bud.
  6. That’s ridiculous. I was just sitting here thinking rather than sledgehammer. Why don’t you weld pull tabs on the dents yank them out with another vehicle and a chain or setup a port a power that’s what I would try. Good luck.
  7. For lots of years, I was always wishing I would’ve been in my 20s in the 50s now that I am old and tired. I think my favorite year would’ve been 1966 grown-up that way I could go down and buy a 64 galaxy which would’ve been two years old And all I would have to do is wash it and drive it OK now I’m going off subject help me out here. Joey have a great day, fellas.
  8. Yes, I believe most of us noticed that after all you do hang around with us old guys to begin with ha ha
  9. As I mentioned, they must’ve had some real crummy drivers in this thing through the years. I’ve never seen a dump truck get beat up so bad but usually back into shit. If nothing else I don’t know what they could’ve been running into so many times to destroy the nose, the way it is, wow wow wow ha ha
  10. Yes, for one thing it’s the right level right where it is I’ll save the last area right where the hinge bolts go for last repair then I will pull it off to repair the underneath section that goes. I’m going to paint the outside and the underneath I’m not going to be that fussy with the underneath section. Just basically make sure I get all the oil and grease removed so that paint sticks. I’ll have to get a friend of mine over here to give me a hand, when the time comes I’ve done so much yardwork around here the past couple of days I’m sitting here drinking coffee, thinking I might spend most of the day in front of the TV
  11. Yes, the green is gorgeous, yellow makes it look like it’s ready to do some road maintenance work. Excellent job bud. Thanks again for letting us know. Looks amazing… bob
  12. Once I get that left corner squared away that’s the worst part Got a couple of honeydews today gotta finish my yardwork. I might go mess around with it a little bit a little later as I mentioned I’ll probably gonna cut the panel right out the headlights and reset it in there
  13. So thanks for the suggestions, fellas but between the long ride down there and back and it still needs work it’s not perfect . Just as well struggle with one It’s just a matter of a lot of time which I don’t really mind. as I mentioned before a very well planned challenge just very time-consuming, not costing me anything at all , just labor but yes, I definitely should’ve bought it at the time and took it home if I would’ve known what I know now hahaha sometimes life is weird..
  14. It’s right on a main highway. I used to pass it all the time going to LA drove by it for 12 years and the guy was a little off and was looking at us really weird because we did not stop at the office first we went over and looked at it first and he said why didn’t you come in the office first I said I was just excited to go look it over and see what kind of shape it was in after we drove home changed my mind about the sale he moves the truck behind the fence so you can’t see it from the road anymore, I think he thought I was gonna drive back and steal it
  15. I thought of that it’s a wrecking yard about 300 miles from here. I drove all the way down there and looked at it and had a bunch of damage on it. That could’ve been fixed a lot easier than what I have here. I’m sure it’s still there it was around 15 years ago. Thanks for the suggestion
  16. Even more kicking my ass I didn’t buy that nose off that old trans con tractor around 300 miles from here guy only wanted 150 bucks … drove all the way down there to look at it and decided it wasn’t much better shape than mine … so I thought at the time till I started sanding mine and finding so much damage underneath…. That wrecking yard jewel would have been a lot either to get straightened out… oh well… live and learn I guess… bob
  17. I thought they already swept that caper under the carpet,,,, my wife said no it’s still going through the courts but the lib media doesn’t cover any of it
  18. I have never seen one ….my uncle Brockways had something on the ceiling holding extra 1157 and 67s I think haven’t seen one since 1968 memory fading
  19. OK, that’s really weird. I’ll have to try that sometimes it’ll take the picture most of the time. It won’t usually first thing in the morning for some reason it will take it.bob
