  1. Yes, I thought of that but like a car back in the day with a.(NORMAL)distributor would need adjustment occasionally
  2. Thanks for that. I did mention. I found one exhaust valve too tight most everything else was pretty close. I’m hoping maybe that will cure my issue. I also thought of that. I don’t think it’s ever been changed. It sure doesn’t look like it.
  3. I would’ve liked to be there when they dropped it off Thanks for that…. Bob
  4. That’s quite a rig you got there Bubba I am like Joey. I really don’t like to drive anywhere, but it would be fun just to go to our local gambling casino and have breakfast with it. 2 miles down the road sorry I can’t help you with much of your information. Good luck with it… bob

  12. Accessive smoking was the original problem. Norm Taunton suggested I advance the timing a bit, and that will probably cure it He told me that quite a while ago it sounded pretty legitimate to me. But velvet adjustment was also a suggested to me about 45 years ago by an older hand in LA and it worked on the 180 I had at the time I did find one valve that was too tight after second go around originally thought two cylinders off, but I was not going in the proper sequence kind of a long story now I’m just rambling but I did find one valve tight number four cylinder exhaust maybe that’s all it is i’m hoping this issue doesn’t turn into a huge trial and error caper .. bob
  13. OK, thanks for that input. I have gone through the manual a little bit and it’s not very clear on anything or at least I’m not reading it right kind of confusing so far and I don’t wanna clean up valve covers and put them back on until I’ve got this right it’s a lot easier to find compression stroke without them on
