  1. Yeah Superliner 2 step brackets are L shaped. And I believe Superliner 1 brackets are part of the stainless strap. I have to agree with Superdog and go with CH brackets. I put them on mine years ago only thing I had to do is trim about 3/4" off the bottom ones so they don't hang out too far past the wheels they work good and are much heavier.
  2. Nice save! Glad to see a nice clean Canadian R Model stay in Canada instead of being scooped up by exporters.
  3. Some of the trucks my dad has owned down through the years.
  4. The year was 1994 i was 19 years old and just starting my driving career. It was the only truck my dad ever bought new 1994 CL613 E9 500 Mack 18 spd 44,000lb Mack rears on Hendrickson air ride. I only drove that truck a few times dad only kept that truck for about 3 years and he kicked himself for selling it for a lot of years after. Loved that big hood lots of power under it and it rode like a dream. I wish I had that truck now myself. I thought we never had any pictures of the truck, we couldn't find any when we put pictures of all my dad's tucks up at his funeral. Mom came across them today in some boxes of dad's stuff so she gave them to me.
  5. Sounds like too much air pressure, I'd check the regulator.
  6. A friend of mine has an F Model with an 866 in it, truck is scrap but engine is complete and ran when he parked it. It has a 5 spd behind it which I don't think is the original tranny in the truck he also has an extra 866 in the shed with a bad bottom end but it's complete also. He says he'll part with them and told me make an offer.
  7. I'm partial to a red frame and black cab myself. It looks great!
  8. D&H used to have a lot of goodies in the back before Mr Weldon sold the dealership a few years back. As far as I know he still hangs out in the building behind that he still owns and still has a warehouse of goodies. He's getting up in age and was still around there a year or so ago when I was last around there. He always seemed like a good guy to talk to and buy from but a lot of guys said they couldn't buy anything from him. I guess it just depended if he liked you or not maybe. I used to lease a truck on with some people in Westland,Mi that bought Mack's and KW's from him for years so maybe that helped. I should take a field trip over there to see if he's still around I used to have his number but I lost it. Maybe go have a look at this Brock too.
  9. DHL I had a customer that used them as a customs broker when I trucked cross border daily. They were a nightmare stuff was never cleared and I had to go in to the brokers almost every trip. I donated a lot of free time to DHL back in the day. UPS wasn't much better as a brokerage firm. Thinking about that makes me glad I stay on this side of the border for my job now. Crossing the border is tough enough anymore without having a customs broker that doesn't do a job you pay them to do.
  10. My 09 KW W900L has an ISX 550 that the boss has spent over $10,000 to try and rectify the problem of the oil filter plugging up with soot every 2 to 3 weeks. I've picked Cummins Reps every show and Cummins dealer I've been to about it none of them can figure it out either. I think we should dig a hole and bury it.
  11. Both myself and the buyer have tracked it and even UPS said the paperwork cleared for it it go through customs but for some reason it has not left Toronto. In other words they lost it plain and simple. It's not so much the money the insurance will pay something not what it should cause we de valued it to save him on the custom costs, the other guy was waiting for a re maned water pump , I can send him to another place to get one but it'll cost him more plus it's already cost him a week extra now. Just figures they can't loose something that was a little easier to replace than an 866 water pump.
  12. I've had a water pump for an 866 V8 in the collection for some time, I used to keep one on the shelf when I had one of those engines since one isn't the easiest thing to find and they aren't cheap either. I been trying to sell it since I don't need it anymore and finally found some one that needed it so I sold it for for less than I paid for it just to get rid of it. I shipped it out to a place in WA. On the 9th of April. It was supposed to arrive at it's destination on the 18th of April. And now a week late it still hasn't made it to WA. I've talked to the guy from the UPS store I shipped it from and to a couple people at UPS and no one knows where it is???? Needless to say the buyer nor myself are very happy campers right now. I've shipped a lot of stuff UPS before and it's always been good. They just had to loose a needle in a haystack on us this time!
  13. We're looking for a good used grille assembly for a Pete 387 we have at work. Used preferably Peterbilt wants more than the truck is worth for one. If anyone knows where we can find one please let me know, thanks.
  14. Single axle. Was it always like that or did someone chop it. Would make a nice toy hauler. Would also make a good toy to take to Sparta in August.
  15. Looks like it's been there a while. How long has it been since it ran? Might be worth saving, but you don't know unless you see it first hand.. I'm across the river near Windsor if I was going over to Detroit any time soon I'd come by and look at it. Looks like it could be a cool project. Just a guess going from what scrap prices been lately I'd say a generous scrap price would be around $1200. If you don't get any interest from anyone on here in time I'll give you a number for a in Westland that buys and sells trucks and old Equiptment he might be able to help you out but if some one on here can make use of it and maybe save it by buying it from you we'll leave the middle man out of it. And it would be a shame to see the scrapers get it.
  16. You should be able to have one made somewhere. My parts shop I deal with has got me speedo cables and throttle cables made by a place in Toronto. You should be able to find some place closer to you that can make you one if you can't get a Mack one.
  17. Yeah back in the seventies a 1693 was a monster. A friend of my dad had one in a 74 Freightliner Cabover. I never drove one but they do sound impressive. But it takes a good horse to keep up with an E9 in the hills.
  18. My dad's had a E9 400 in it and Dietz had it put in . My truck had a ENDT866 375 V8 in it when I bought it and I ran it for years until we quit using it. I re powered it with a 92 E9450 with the inline Robert Bosch pump I took it out of the old Maksteel MH Cabover I had. The E9 was a fresh overhaul just before the MH got wrecked.
  19. Happy Easter to everyone. Having Easter dinner with Ma and a couple brothers and their wives and kids this afternoon. Can't wait for the honey baked ham!!!
  20. Yes it is one of Hans Dietz's trucks. I had 2 of his Superliners but recently sold the one that was my dad's. The Superliner withe the 6 cylinder he had is owned by a friend of mine in Windsor now it's parked because it has a broken camshaft. And the last one of the F Models Dietz had is owned by Charlie from Charlie's Place in Chatham. I've left the paint on my cab and hood original for a conversation piece. Everyone recognizes the paint job.
  21. Maybe you worked on it a one time. It's seen a few changes since it's been down her the last dozen years.
  22. Welcome to BMT. So you're from London. I'm down near Windsor but I prefer to deal with the guys at London Mack it's a far better dealer. My Superliner came from #4 Hwy and 401 and was sold an assembled as a Glider in London. Maybe you recognize the old girl.
