  1. A lot of stuff missing off it for that kind of cash. Appears to be fairly straight and solid with potential but you can't really get a good look in these pics. Even if you get all the missing parts in a basket it hasn't ran in 23 years. You could only offer scrap price for it because it's going to take lots of cash to restore it.
  2. I drive an 09 KW 900L for the company I work for. It has a Cummins ISX. 550 HP it pulls good when it runs right. The problem we've had with it for the last 2 years is the oil filter plugging up about every 2 to 3 weeks when we use it steady. E had it in and spent about $10,000 in cleaning the DPF last fall and changing igniter in the exhaust and all kinds of sensors and I really hate the thing because nothing they do to it ever solves the problem. It runs about 35 psi with a fresh filter for a few days then it will drop to 30psi for a couple weeks then it will run 25psi and you better be changing the filter that night because if you don't it will quit on you some place you don't want it to and it ain't fun. I was wondering if any one else has a cummins and encountered this problem and knows the fix besides a can of gas and a match. The joys of modern technology!
  3. Yeah an E9 would run you more than $11000 improbably close to double that if you had it done at a shop. And even an E9 is cheap to rebuild compared to any of the new engines today. My boss put more than $11000 in he W900L I drive putting a new oil cooler, rad, a bunch of sensors and cleaning the DPF. And it's still a piece of junk. Every 2 to 3 weeks the oil filter plugs up with soot and it looses oil pressure. I'd gladly put $1100 not an E7 and have something reliable. As for the frame single 3/8 rail is he way to go if you want it to last. Double frames tend to get rust between the rails and rust trough or split .
  4. How many speeds is a T2060?
  5. No Jakebreak 86 he didn't pass away. His son Waylon passed away the end of nov. 2012. Waylon is the one sitting in the truck in the photo. Charlie is standing along side the truck. He was only 32. But he left a big legacy behind.
  6. I was down to Charlie's Place in the spring for a visit and he was working on one of the sleepers and he told me a bit of history on the B77. The truck was totally dismantled and he had RM Restorations making some pieces for the cab that you couldn't buy, he had a want ad on the forum around that time looking for rubber stoppers for the brake pedal I don't know if he found any or not. I was talking to another member of Great Lakes Truck Club at a club event before Christmas who stops at his shop frequently and he told me it's coming together. The truck is being done about 45 min away from where I live I should take a trip down for a visit and see how it's coming. I know one thing when Charlie gets done with it it will be better than it was new. Him and his crew do awesome work!
  7. Very sharp I like it!
  8. I agree with you on that one Alex. She's got plenty of character. And there was a large steady gathering around it at Clifford last summer. It's a good conversation piece. That's why the owner said he left it like that.
  9. I've seen the red Bighorn in person a couple times. It's on the Dodge front part of the chassis, if I remember right the rear is a Freightliner Airliner rear clip. It has a Kenworth bunk the cab I'd rusty doors are really bad. I think the fuel tanks and battery boxes are Freightliner that's why it looks like its on a Freightliner chassis. It's got a 350 or 400 big cam Cummins. It's not very original and I don't really think it's worth $38,000. I've seen better ones .
  10. I'd like to spend the day there. Looks like lots of treasures.
  11. Actually a good idea. It is the right height for the cab. Only thing I'm not crazy about are the metric wheels they use on Midliners I'd be looking for some way to change them if it were me. But it was still a great idea it looks good.
  12. I sure miss those days when my dad and I ran a matching pair of Superliners I used to always have mine polished up and looking good used to make may day when somebody gave you the thumbs up or complimented on my truck. I loved my job and was very proud of my ride then because it was different than everyone else's, and I owned it. Now I'm just a company driver and drive a piece of crap W900L with a 550 Cummins that I wish my boss had left in Texas where he bought it 2 yrs ago. It spends more time in the shop than it does working, I'm glad I don't own it ! A good E 9 would do circles around it or even a hopped up E7 and either on a lot less fuel at the end of the day. I wish a guy could find a decent job to put a truck on I'd get my old Superliner out and at least put it to work in the good weather months anyway, I have it fixed up too nice to have it out in the winter now I'd need a winter beater truck. But I can tell you one thing I would definitely rather drive a good Superliner vs a W900 KW anyday !
  13. 866 was 375hp and was silver in colour. Usually came standard with Mack 12spd or Fuller 15spd. 865 was 325 hp and gold in colour and came with Mack 5 or 6 spd. It's hard to say what you have there because who knows what someone has done with the truck over time .
  14. Looks to me like the only thing that got full of rubber was the rear fender of his bike and the only load that blew was a load of cash right out of his wallet. Yeah, would've been much cheaper to just get a room.
  15. Yeah Whitegold if you'll get the last laugh in the end because your Mack is better on fuel than that 550 Cat plus it way cheaper easier and more reliable and if you treat it right and look after it it will be around long after that 550 Cat is history.
  16. Jake break 86 I've done the machine shop route with Mack heads before too as long as your machine shop has the cutter to cut the fire rings it can be done for about a 1/4 of the price of Mack remaned heads and your heads haven't been machined too much before. The last E9 I inframed about 8 or 9 years ago I priced remaned heads from Mack and Northwest Truck and both were around. $1500 per head x 4 heads so I took them to a Machine shop locally that I had faith in and he checked them all out 1 was like new so he ground the valves and seats and the other 3 needed some guides and some valves replaced. I think I only had about $1800 in redoing all 4 and they worked fine so if you have a good set of heads to redo I wouldn't be afraid of going that rout either. I just wouldn't slap an old set of used heads on a fresh in frame like he's been talking about without having them checked out at the machine shop first. If he has to buy a couple used heads in order to redo them remand ones might be the way to go.
  17. Didn't the Mack Brothers originate as wagon and carriage builders before they got into building trucks?
  18. I'd do an infrme on it then you know what you have. Nothing wrong with remaned heads,$1300 sounds about right for price for them. If the rest of the truck is good and you run it on a daily basis you should be able to justify the cost of rebuilding the motor.
  19. Valueliner is very sharp Jeff.
  20. I been fabricating a few Stainless goodies for my Superliner lately and I was figuring on buying a full sheet of 14 or 16 gauge for a deckplate and a few other small things and I had a few of you guys ask me where I got the stone guards on my hood. I bought them over 10 years ago and you can't get them anymore. so I was wondering While I have a guy cutting an bending other stuff for me if I was to take my stone guards and duplicate a batch of them with all the fasteners and spacers included with each set, how many of you would be interested in a set. I'm not sure yet on a price per set but I know I paid $150 for mine over 10 years ago, but if there's enough interest an we run off a big batch I'm sure we can beat that price. I'll be getting a couple prices on a sheet of material from a couple supplier. If anyone might be interested send me a PM and if there's enough interest to justify me running a batch off , I'll get an actual price figured out and we'll do it.
  21. Looks straight and solid, would make a good project for that kind of $.
  22. Lots of potential there just too bad it has a 290 in it the 1693 Caterpillar would be better for a long hood truck like that.
  23. She looking good Alex. Hope the injectors do the trick. Shouldn't be to expensive to put injectors in that compared to newer engines.
  24. Late 1990 for the 1991 model year.
  25. Ma's putting on a spread for her boys this afternoon . Spiral sliced ham, mashed potatoes, gravy , corn coleslaw because it's opposed to be good luck to eat cabbage on new years so she always tells us. And cherry cheese cake for desert. Can't wait!
