  1. I've had good luck with Donaldson, Wix, Fleetgaurd, and Balwin air filters. But I saw the K&N washable in Louisville in March at MATS. I have one in my Harley since new it is an 02. And one in my 96 GMC pickup and it has been in there most of its life and has close to 300,000 mi on it. I have 4 brothers who also have K&N washable air filters in all their vehicles, we all swear by them. I'm thinking of one for the Superliner. K&N rep told me around $250 to $300 for one and found a dealer in Ontario for me.costs about $65 for all the disposable filters, so if you plan on keeping it a while it should justify the cost with the ones for truck application they told me you just wash them out with the cleaner and the hose, then let dry or blow dry with compressed air unlike the ones for cars and motorcycles where blow drying is not recommended.and no oiling truck ones just wash and reinstall. If I was running my Superliner on a daily basis I would definitely try one..
  2. I had an MH with an E9 400 I bought for parts a few years back and it had a 9 speed Mack tranny it shifted good was good going down the road but it made a clunking noise too when the truck sat idling. I never found anything in the oil in it either, maybe it's just the nature of them.
  3. Well if it makes you feel any better Ryan I got a few on you I'm 21 for the 17th year in a row that's the line I always use on my birthday.
  4. Glad to hear everyone's ok. I see the same thing happen all too often. Makes you wonder how muck people really value there lives. Good to see it didn't do much damage to your truck and yes you should get a free chrome bumper just for going through the ordeal.
  5. I was at Goody's Truck Parts in Toledo a year ago and they had about 15 of them CH and Visions. All picked though for parts, probably wouldn't sell them whole though.
  6. I've seen restoration photos of that truck on BMT Forum but it's a few years back, but I can't remember who's gallery they are in. I'm 100% sure that truck belonged to another member of this forum before.
  7. Raw to Ready on PBS is on Mack Truck tonight!
  8. You're just 21 for the 14th time. Happy Birthday!
  9. Is that a former UPS tractor? Are you building it up for drag racing?
  10. You don't see many of those Diamond Reo cabovers, I know where there is one of them just like it sitting. Don't know if it can be bought. Wouldn't mind it for a future project. What would one of those be powered with? And what would it be worth?
  11. My 92 MH had an air operated passenger side window. I drove a CH and a CL with electric power window on the passenger side, pretty sure you could get power window on the drivers side too. I think if you go bone yard touring you might find something you can get to work in your MH door. If I remember right they all just had a bolt on box over the window crank with the air and electric motors. I have an electric power window on my Superliner and the motor is minted in a box over the crank.
  12. A friend of mine used to have a 77 International Transtar COE. The interior was just that of a basic workhorse, but on the outside he had everything chromed that you could. He used to have chrome Dayton rims on the drives and I know he used to just buy new rims and get them chromed. He also had the coolest set of covers over the spiders that were the shape of the spider and not moons, they had spinners on them too. That's the only set I've ever seen. I think he said he got them at the Tiekei truck stop near Battle Creek Michigan they used to have a good chrome shop there, but this was 30 years ago. He used to strip all the chrome off the old Binder for the winter and store it in the house.

    OIL

I've used Texaco Havoline 10w30 oil in my 96 GMC pickup for most of its life it is pushing 500,000km or about 300,000mi and doesn't use a drop of oil between changes. I went to the Parts source store where I be been buying my Texaco oil since its getting harder to get in Canada. I used to get it at Carquest right in town along with my Texaco Ursa 15w40 for the trucks but they don't keep it anymore. So I use Chevron Delo 15w40 in the Mack. So I guess I'm gonna have to switch the old pickup to it too. Unless I take a road trip over to O'reilly's in Detroit and stock up. They carried the Havoline 10w30 the last time I was there.
  14. Good lookin G Doug! Fuel is definitely expensive to take her to a show but the compliments you must get on your truck are worth there weight in gold.
  15. Yes here in Canada Sicard used them in the 50s and 60s. Here's a Sicard snowblower at the HCEA Canada show in Barrie Ont. this past weekend.
  16. I didn't get any photos of the Engine of the F Model. I just looked at it from under the cab it had an 866 375hp V8 and a 12spd.

  18. Here is a Godfredson (Ford) truck from the 20s built in Walkerville Ont. a suburb of Windsor, Ont.
  19. Yeah I did notice that on the International , I never saw one like that before, most I've seen we're single axles with a tag axle. I didn't take any photos of the stationary engines or most of the other stuff in the buildings. I took alot of video footage on my camcorder of everything outside in the pits got a good hour of video. I didn't get a good picture of the steam shovel just video. If you got a good one of the it post it too.
  20. I'm going to show my friend from the Quarry the video and photos of the 2 crushers they had there when i have coffee with him tonight and see what he thinks. Crushers have defined improved since the 1920s.
  21. That's the first time up there for me too Alex. I got a membership also I'm definitely going back also. Only one thing would have made the visit the a whole lot better if my dad were still here to go with me since that stuff was right up his alley. Both him and my grandpa were in the construction business together for over 25 years. There was a few pieces there reminded me of both of them, like the Northwest Model 41 dragline, dad had a predecessor to it he hadn't Model 25 and the 40 Drott excavator, grandpa had an 880 case which was a spinoff of the Drott. The K10 Insley there was similar to what grandpa started into the business with he had a K12 with a cable how on it and that's what my dad started on. And of coarse there was a nice F1000 Ford single axle there I remember riding in the one they had an F1000 Mercury with a 10ft dump box on it. And they also had a KB 11 International on their float back in the day and there was a KB 9 twin screw up there. I had a really good time and was glad I took the trip. My dad would have really enjoyed yesterday, I'm definitely going back again. And yes I took a few shots of the F Model with the 866 375hp in it it was a beauty.
