  1. My thoughts exactly I found that last year that there were alot of deals satuday afternoon. If you still need another turn signal I have a new chrome one in the box up in the shop. I only had one and updated mine wth a pair of LEDs instead so I probably won't need it. I'll bring it wth me to Louisville next week if you want.
  2. My Dad has been battling stage 4 lung cancer since mid november. We didn't think he'd make Christmas. He went for Ct scan and tests Monday and his for a follow up today, and got good news for a change, what ever they been doing is working. It's been a tough year on our family too, so we can kind of relate to what you and your family is going through with your health problem the suspence of things is rough on everyone. We wish you the best of luck and don't give up, better times ahead.
  3. Nice pics. I've been across Pa. a few times with the truck with a high load of well pipe. It definitely was not boring, very nice trip in the summer, don't know if it would be as nice in the snow. The hills and curves are a bit decieving if you're not familiar with the area. Impressive how coal haulers handle them though.
  4. I have a Superliner posted in the trucks for sale topic. 1990 E9 400 V8 12Spd new 2 line wet line on it. Call me if you're interested Dan at (519)-999-4706
  5. I went last year for the first time. I'm figuring on going on saturday. High noon at the mack booth I''m game for that.
  6. I have to agree with you on that one. and I find that it's not only the new Canadian or American drivers all the time either, but some of our own people sit on their brains too.
  7. I'd have to say Smokey and the Bandit is my favorite' then after that comes High Ballin with Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda. White Line Fever is a good one too. and for my favorite tv series would have to be Movin On.
  8. Maybe the reason she's in the ditch is someone was trying to help her master the art of shifting her 2 spd rear end.
  9. I'm seriously considering buying a fifthwheel enclosed car hauler with a small living quarters in front just for that reason.
  10. My Dad and I went to a funeral wake for a friend of mines father last week. His dad worked for our county roads department for 35 years and had been retired fo 25 years now. They were showing old video footage of some of him and some of the other guys working at the pit and on a few jobs with some of the old stuff back in the late 50's early 60's. The county had 2 cable cranes that he ran. A Lorrain Cable hoe which he ran most of the time ditching on road jobs, and a Dominion Dargline that spent most of its career in the county gravel pit with a clam on it feeding a hopper. Both cranes were like new when the county finished with them. A friend of my dads ended up with the Dominion and Dad ran it for him for a couple years with a drag bucket on it at a pit next door to the county pit, so I spent a little time around that crane when I was a teenager. We thought it was neat to still have some of that old video around to share with everyone.
  11. If it's still in the shop around Macungie time I'll take you up on that offer, that would give me a good reason to get down there. I'm figuring on going to Louisville for MATS at the end of the month if you were going up there.
  12. No it's a Drivers side (LH)
  13. I was looking at the picture of your Brockway in the Clifford Show edition of the club newsletter. I remember seeing it there. Very nice, don't see them every day You need pics of it on your gallery.
  14. The Superliner has Class, the Hummer does'nt compare.
  15. That's awesome I plan to be doing a bit of sight seeing with my Superliner soon. Have to toss a coin this summer Take the Mack Superliner or the Harley Superglide out for my sunday mornig ride.
  16. Cool I've heard about the Purple People Eater before, never seen too many, but heard they were very strong in the day. Boones Express out of Clawson Mich featured in that article is still in bussiness. I have a friend who is a broker for them. He'll love to see that article. I seen one of those R 410 a few years ago close to home, but we didn't get to it in time. The idiot cut it up for scrap.
  17. Cool I've never seen one of those before. Seen one similar without the windows years ago at a truck show , but never seen one with the small windows in front. That one looks worth saving.
  18. What a shame the jackass slaughtered it. He should be on 1000 ways to die. Butcher a good collectable just for a bit of scrap metal and Karma got him. It's still fixable and really solid, bring it home and give it a new lease on life.
  19. Anyone looking for a MH windshield? I have a new tinted drivers side windshield up in the shop, I'm wanting to get rid of. Make me an offer, or trade for something. (519)-999-4706 Dan.
  20. Cool it's a small world. I'm hoping to get my Superliner up to Clifford this year, and a friend of mine is figuring on bringing his 89 W900 Kenworth too. I met Wayne King up in Quebec last summer at Notre Dame Du Nord Truck Rodeo, He seems like a real good guy. He said he was trying to downsize his collection a little, by the sound of it he has a lot of stuff. I spent the afternoon at Dorner's open house last fall, had to cut my stay there short , had a wedding to attend that evening. Charlie Dorner jr told me about the club and all of their stuff. About all I have left to my truck is put some decent tires on it, put fifth wheel and full fenders on it, not going to repaint cab and hood this year. I want to try it out a little first. For sure we'll catch you somewhere this season.
  21. I still have a remaned waterpump 2 used heads a real good oilpan and a bunch of odds and ends for 865 866 V8 engines if anyone is in need of anything. (519)-999 4706 Dan.
  22. Bobo is on the BMT forum. He's from Hamilton area, He's has a Superliner that he's rebuilding too. He has an RB I believe it is on with MCQ handling out of hamilton doing roll off work hauling scrap. I have'nt seen him on here for a while, he must be keeping busy working. Have you heard of Great Lakes Truck Club? Maybe you're already a member. I joined last summer up at their show up at Clifford. I'm hoping to have my old Superliner ready to drive up there this year. I don't have too much left to do. It's an awesome club if you're into old trucks. It's suprising that there is that much interest in old trucks around our area and it seems to be growing. The $75 yearly membership fee is worth it for the old time trucks magazine and the club newsletter you get every 2 months The newsletter I got yesterday has a huge article about the history of Bulk Carriers and stories and photos from guys that drove for them. The newsletter features a story about an old company everytime. It's great that someone is putting that much effort into preserving trucking history.
  23. To be honest with you I put those on the truck at least 10 years ago and I can't remember who made them. I got them from a truck parts shop I deal with in Windsor and they were hard to find then. There is'nt a lot of aftermarket add ons you can get for an R model or a Superliner. We made a set for my Dad's truck. Just used 16 gauge mirror fnish stainless cut them out to shape and put a slight bend at the bottom. That's probably what you might have to do get some from a sheetmetal shop and have them cut and bend it, should'nt cost too much or take too long to punch out a pair. You might try Raney's truck parts in Florida. They're about the only ones I've seen that can get much stainless for Rmodels. You could also try Dieter's they might have something too. You're right about them reducing stone chips. they do work, plus they help make the look of the truck.
  24. :SMOKIE-LFT:So you're right in Bobo's neck of the woods, cool. You're only about a 4 hour ride down old #3 HWY or Talbot trail from me. I'm just down at the bottom end of it. Do you work your Rmodel or is it for play?
