  1. A friend of mine's dad has a British Field Marshall Diesel that starts with a shotgun shell. He's been loading his own and getting by but he's looking for a north american supplier to get the proper starting cartridges. He said he can get them from England but they won't ship them over here. If anyone might know wher e he could get them over here he would really apprieciate it.
  2. I'm in need of a little advice on newer Cummins engines. My boss recently purchased two 09 Kenworth W900L tractors with Cummins ISX engines with afterburner setups on them, and I got elected to take one of them. Nice trucks but this burner setup is totally new to me and everyone else at our place, and of course there is no books with the trucks. How does the DPF burner set up work on them, how do you use it, I,ve run it for about 4 days now with the start stop switch for it on most of the time leting it do it's own thing. Is this how to use it? How often should should the burner run and for how long? How does this system work?

  6. Buying her man a Mack, it can't get any better than that. Does she have a sister?
  7. We put the puff limiter back on my dads about 6 yrs ago so we could E- test it easier, and we put an air switch on the supply line and mounted it up near the firewall. A little secret to E-testing one of those if it smokes that we used was to pull the stall cable out so it will barely pull itself and it will pass with flying colours. Put a clip on it somewhere out of sight if you have to , depends who does you E-test.
  8. My dad did something similar a few years ago, only with no rim and he cut one sidewall out with a sawzall. I think my mom put strawberries in it.
  9. Anyone catch American trucker this week, it was about UPS and they showed a 72 F Model they are restoring. It's about time they showed some Macks on that show. Most of the episodes of that show suck, but last night restored some interest.
  10. Good job on rescuing the MH from exporters, truck looks like it came from a good home.
  11. I don't think they are hurting for money either. They all drive new pick ups, a couple seasons ago they showed them having a motor cycle ride on the Golden Road, and they were all riding new Harleys, Eldon and Jeff have the pulling trucks, They spared no expense whe building there restaurant / bar. They were probably good to work for at one time , they just have a lot more on their plate now. Bone Crusher worked for Peletier's for a long time he probably noticed the change in atmosphere as they grew from a small family company to a large enterprise. I notice that type of change where I work just in the 4 yrs I've been there. Each year they buy more equiptment, more toys like boats cars motorcycles and take off on vacation most of the winter, while you get less hrs of work get docked time for stupid reasons in the slower winter season, plus they expect you to wash and fuel the trucks for free. Seems to be a trend they all follow as they grow. That's why they say nice guys finish last.
  12. I've had both Holland and Fontaine wheels and there's nothing wrong with either of them. I just bought a Fontaine No Slack wheel and slider for my Superliner project.
  13. I'd have to agree that's a little bit too long for a daily driver. You'd be hopping alot of curbs in most towns just going around the corner with the tractor itself. It does look cool though even for a Diamond Reo.
  14. Is the Maxlite 40 like the Hendrickson HAS #402 . I put an HAS #402 suspension from a 2000 CH 600 under my Superliner that I'm rebuilding. I know that it's alot lighter than the New way I took out, and has less bushings to wear out also.
  15. It looks like it's coming along real nice. Keep up the good work.
  16. Nice job, it looks sharp. I wouldn't put it on the road as a daily worker either. I had an MH with an E9 I was using as the daily breadwinner until 4 yrs ago. Some lady in a $25 car creamed it and the insurance wrote it off on me. I got it back for parts and a little money out of it but not what I had into it, and not enough to replace it. I get bitter every time I think about it. I have never really gotten over it.I really liked that truck. Those things are irreplacable especially a Magnum, it's always nice to see one all fixed up like that.
  17. Those MH cabs are tougher than iron. I had one that was in a really bad head-on collision and jack knifed due to the pitman shaft being snapped off the steering box on impact, it took a hell of a beating, and I think it could have been fixed but the frame had too much damage. It would have required a total rebuild. I also scrapped one for parts one time I spent a lot of time beating it with the backhoe so I could dispose of it.
  18. The Mack 75 ton prime mover would be a different piece for most guys collections.
  19. Great find. Nice and clean and rust free. I like the aluminum tube type rims, they look to be in good shape.
