  1. Found these two funny looking l little critters on the oil drain plug in my engine . Any ideas as to what or where inside they may have came from. They look like pieces from rivets? Look like aluminum but stick to a magnet. Everything seems to be working fine but the curiosity is killing me.
  2. my profile name has been BAD Dog for 10 years now for some reason it comes up as something different WTF ?  Wish I could figure out how to switch it  back.

  3. So far I'm not liking it. But it's happened before and I'll adapt. Lol !
  4. Great job! Looks aewsome!
  5. Probably original motor. I had a 92 with an E9 450 inline Robert Bosch pump.
  6. I like to keep them stock as possible, but if modifications are done to modernize them then it needs to suit the truck I like to keep all the components on the truck from the same manufacturer as truck.
  7. Happy New Year !
  8. Here's my SuperGlide I bought new in 2002. I still have it going on 14 years this May. It still looks like the day I got it I haven't changed much on it. And it's the longest I've ever kept a bike and I've had bikes since I was a kid the last 3 being Harley's . I don't get much time to ride anymore and can't really justify the cost of the insurance on it for the amount of miles I ride anymore and could probably put the cash toward other things but I just hate the thought of getting rid of the old girl so I think I'll just keep it. I think I'd probably keep it anyway even if I bought a new one anyways, it's kinda like part of the family.
  9. Merry Christmas everyone.
  10. Yes I do have a couple cats around the old homestead but they don't venture too far from the house this time of year, and the one hunts and kills mice outside regularly but tends to just play with them in the house and in the buildings. Guess they got it too good around here. I been using sticky traps around the shed baited with peanut butter and have caught a couple lately they aren't nesting in the truck this year yet, and hopefully don't but they something ate the peanut butter off the one I had in the cab so I'm assuming one must have been in there today. I've had a bunch of those tree air freshener a in the cab for a while I put some mint extract on a paper towel inside today I heard they hate the smell of mint. I might try the cedar too and am going to have to probably put some poison out around the shed and get rid of any clutter that might harbour them too. Thanks guys for your help I'll have to keep trying everything till I find something that works on them.
  11. What works best to keep mice out of your trucks when they're stored in a building over the winter months. I've tried mothballs and bounce sheets, and they don't work. I never had trouble with mice till last winter, and I'm catching them on traps already this year.,what have you guys had luck using?
  12. Here's a pic of the first Hydraulic machine bought new but my Grandpa in 1975 not long after I was born. 880 Case. It replaced the K 11 Insley with the cable hoe he bought new in 1955. Wish I had them both. I know the Case is still alive and working. The Insley I'm not sure about. It had a crane boom on it about 20 yrs ago the last time we saw it. I'd sure love to have both of them.
  13. Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends.
  14. Construction and industrial 3408 s use a smaller oil cooler. He's looking for the huge one for the Brake saver application specifically for a truck 3408 . The construction and industrial one would probably work but he'd have to block off the brake saver stuff on the engine and then he'd have no Brake saver which was Caterpillar's version of a jake brake in the early 80's. My dad had a freightliner with 3408 in the 80's I remember doing the oil cooler a couple times it was not easy. We ended up blocking the brake saver off in the end.
  15. I use Lucas myself but have used Howes in the past and it is also a very good product.
  16. AC compressor mounts on right side of engine under fuel filter.
  17. Great video! They did an awesome job on it. Loved it. It's something I'm sure we can all relate to.
  18. I put a Hedrickson air ride with Eaton rears from a 2000 CH under my Superliner a few years ago. I stripped the Superliner frame down and slid the CH suspension and rears under it. Your R model frame is narrower than a Ch so you'll need to make up some flat plates and drill them to the bolt pattern of the CH crossmembers and suspension hangers and shim the game out accordingly. I'd check the ratio difference and see how close she they are before I would swap the rears. If the Ch ones are close I'd use them. But I'm not sure if the r model pigs will bolt up to the newer housings ??? Maybe.
  19. The E9 with the Robert Bosch pump I have came out of a 92 MH and it had cable driven Tach it drives off the fuel pump gear on the front just like the AMBAC pump I have. On my other E9. So they must have went to electric tach in 93.
  20. They're cast parts, on thermostat housing. Easy enough to make your own.
  21. That is a very nice collectable. Would love to have it, if it wasn't so far for me and I had some disposable cash laying around. I almost bought a 74 866 powered daycab F from the owner of. D & H Mack in Dearbourn Michigan about a dozen years ago which was rare that the owner was willing to sell it in itself let alone being a V8 daycab. It wasn't in as good of shape as the one for ale in WA now, but still wish I would have bought a few of the goodies from D&H when I could have being they're all part of history now.
  22. Happy belated birthday Scott.
  23. Sweet ! I saw that white B Model and the green H Model on a float pulled by a black vision Friday around lunch time just south of Ithaca Mi. on 127 and a couple old buses not too far behind that. I was wondering where they were headed, figured must have been a show somewhere. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  24. I see the green Superliner tandem dump around the Detriot area all the time. It's a nice clean lookin truck. Here's a pic of Tyson Brandt kickin ass at Rodeo Du Camion in Notre Dame Du Nord Quebec. A beautifully restored Superdog owned by Kyle Burton AKA B-Line V8 Superliner from BMT up at the Clifford Show earlier this summer. And of course my old girl was parked right next to Kyle's all day but we never crossed paths at Clifford.
