  1. Get familiar with your weight laws. Also keep this in mind if your truck is short you may need a longer trailer for bridge laws. ergo if your only 190" wb you may need a 38' dump. to get the required length or more axles and then your heavier. don't just assume you can gross 80k on 5 axles. then again your in Mt and you guys gross out around 100k anyway
  2. It might heave in the middle like that but usually the long wheelbase to bring the nose down. What I was always told. when I drove for a tow company we tried picking up a T800 rock bucket that was rolled. I know I was in a Volvo but it was a short wb. I mean short. looked like a grocery delivery tractor. I don't think it was 165" wb. We got it off the ground but was real light on the front and left it.
  3. For all that wheel base it damn sure looks light in the front. Would hate to drive it like that

Truthfully it is more relaxing and comfortable riding down low. you can stretch out straighter. Idk had a buddy tell me that thought he was full of it till i tried it. But I am all over. seat up,down,up to back into a spot or manuver. might ride low for a while if out on the highway. but start hitting alot of bumps and the air goes back in
  5. Welcome to the jungle That blue R model has a long hood on it. or in the pic it looks unusually long
  6. got to ask but maybe Joes Mack just aswered it. What the hell is that lever over the rear springs of those yellow Dm's?
  7. Congrats on the new purchase. Hope you work the hell out of the old girl. So does this mean your getting big enough to get a driver? or you retiring the other one?
  8. Can you get into the passengerside? Are you locked out? Just trying to get the locks working?I'd say if you can get in throught the passenger side will the door open and if so take the panel apart and lube everything. Then try the key and see if it works. Idk what else to try
  9. You try spraying some WD-40 in the key hole and beating on the door. I got a lock that sticks and hitting the door helps

That is a nice looking R.
  11. Looks like an old Hardrives Superliner. But all there tandems had the V-8
  12. then need the slider as alot of provinces don't allow the spread. Also Idk about now but I know the western provinces do not like 53's. Get a canadian spread or Triaxle. Be the best bet I could say
  13. I doin't think it would matter you'll air back up reasonably quick. Then again I have only ran a few dump trailers with air ride tractors never air ride straight buckets
  14. well it goes like this where do you mostly run. you got alot more le way with a 48 then a 53. If you run in a place like Fl where you get 44k on a tandem ou don't need a spread as it is a waste of tire.
  15. A friend of mine lives in Ct and goes to Diesel school in Williamsport,Pa. They do alot more then just diesel, they make sure you know the business aspect of it also. Think it is Pa diesel college
  16. Thats true. Mine isn't the quietest thing out there. I ususally forget when I am in and out of the truck doing something with the trailer. Either moving the kingpin,or some other stuff. It drives almost like the power divider is on Hard to shift.
  17. I don't have a light but you damn sure know it is on. You hear it. Damn does it howl
  18. I thought only little boys wore Bow Ties?
  19. up till I found the specs a few months ago on the Convoy R I always thought it was a detroit. I need to hang my head now
  20. I agree on the tractors after watching the yo-yo's in miami. But La,Ms,and Tx got funky weight laws. I don't think that truck would ever get a work out until it pulls the excavator. Probably only gross 43 to 54k Alot of those roads in Ms they got 58k and change weight limits on 5 axle.
  21. that isn't a bad looking truck Always likes the big hoods or long hoods. Weather it is Mack,Ford,Pete,Kw,A-car even a star car
