  1. Yeah I bought 8 Firestone FD690's they where out the door 5 and change. I dread to see what my Michillin Steers are going to be when I get them again which are 425's Might go with Continentals again on the fronts. When I bought them last year 1011 a piece. They suck and going to need 4 more trailer tires this year and 4 more on the Lift axle.
  2. And do not trash the place. Pick up your trash if you do stuff. Where I park at is a secure lot and one of the guards on duty I buy lunch a few times when we are home. She is having a hard time and appreciates it. But nothing disappears off my truck or trailer when others have had stuff walk away. It makes a difference. Might make the difference of parking in the back out of sight and out of mind. or parking where they can see your stuff.
  3. That would be your best bet. Look for storage yards. Look where other drivers are parking.Any truckstop or fuel stations with any parking. Smaller ones sometimes let drivers park or charge to park as no to loose any business.
  4. Whats the extra M in the DMM mean. I know what a DM stands for just not the extra M
  5. I got the pit muffler under mine and it has quieted this down tremedously and not hurt the power. next thing I am going to do is when the muffler rots is put the original 5" back on and get the super quiets from pit and put the mufflers back on the side with the grab handles. It has quieted sown but to the point now I do not want to hear this at all
  6. Good deal. I am glad it worked out for you
  7. The 7.3 is an animal. Transmissions where not there favorite. Drove one tow that had an auto and it ate that thing and the other had a 5 speed. It did good just thought it didn't have a low enough first. I think you'll be happy with that just put a fuel tank in the back as they like fuel but will drag anything you want anywhere. at 85 mph
  8. yeah your definatley shifting to low. run it up more and it will go alot smoother
  9. I agree with Superdog. I think it has something to do with anything bigger actually lessens any performance gain of no muffler with the exhaust gases cooling off to fast before exiting. But this is only what I have heard not not read.
  10. How are you shifting? Are you short shifting,Running the rpm's up high. Are you trying to skip gears? 10 speeds are fairly easy and almost bullet proof.are you using the button in the front of the shifter? Are you sure it is not a super 10? little grey button on side only nothing in front. Driven 10 speeds for along time. Here is my number I can try to help you out as much as I can over the phone. 954-895-0977 Randy
  11. Now make sure your not leaking water inside or out. Just incase it was installed for that reason. But glad to hear it was a quick and easy fix and enjoy the Warm air
  12. Thats an idea there. I prefer manuals as ever auto I've had or driven never seemed to hold up. The 5 speed in my dodge had a problem that fortunatley I have not encountered yet which is 5th coming apart. I feel but this is my preference if your going to pull with it a manual is the way to go. Set up right they will walk the dog no pun intended. in the 13 vyears I have had mine I've had a triaxle tag along with 15 to 20k of stuff on it on 35" rubber and rolled with it. before becoming an owner op my old boss had a 11k pound boat he would pull with my truck all the time. Mind you I only have a 3/4 ton but it never backs down. I love the Cummins in it. I feel it is almost a direct drive as from 4th to 5th it is not a huge jump and just seems like it wants to keep going and going and going. Maybe a gear vender od would help because there is jump from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th that when I do anything sucks.
  13. You might want to consider this also with the tag axle tires on anything you load it on is gonna be an act of congress to get on. if you nose it on as the front levels out the axle is going to bottom out in turn lift the drives up. Backing on might do it but same thing. Had had that problem with the drill rig in my avatar. Was a bear getting it on. Might take the tires off to load it but just have them on with the nuts loose or wood to help bring the load angle better
  14. see if there are any shut off valves under the hood for the heater hoses. Or go raise hell with the dealer
  15. Definatley new tires there for that jaunt. Idk I think I would haul it just for the fact lines, tires,Hoses, and other unforeseen till you get it looked at and evaluated. Probably make it though.
  16. You gonna start calling him a prairie dog now? lol
  17. Congrats on the purchase
  18. I never would of thought that old girl would run that fast. Definatley an attention getter passing other trucks
  19. Man that thing looks like a Beast. You got half the battle down it runs and drives. The rest should be easier but the age is gonna make it interesting
  20. Yeah it definatley is not fun tracking all over the place on a dozer. Hit a good rock and get bounced out of the seat a few times. Alot of wear and tear on the under carriage.
  21. Got some good pics there.
  22. Yeah you need to Isolate them. You will never get an accurate reading otherwise. As far as drop I don't remember
  23. Buy a Ford you'll be happier. Duramax is an I use you motor. Then again I am not a gm fan. Or find another dodge in your time frame
  24. Ouch I am sorry to hear that but glad it is something to could walk away from. I'd miss my old dodge if something happened to it
  25. I concur that is a sharp looking ride
