I think this is from the 60's -
yeah singles suck. they just lighten you up to much on your drives,don't handle worth a damn. not my thing anymore

Was helping my dad move some cabinets from his old job to the house, When we where going thru the manuals he has had for years I came across atleast 3 or 4 Mack service manuals from I think the 60's to the 70's.Back when he had his Macks. I'll try and get some pics. Not sure what they are for, But might be for sale or if somebody needs them. Let me go thru them and I'll let you all know.

This when it was a single box was faster I just had problems turning the floats at a dead stop off road. or depending how heavy I was on the steers when i picked the pusher up. Empty It turned alittle better but it gave you a work out esp trying to manuver in a tight spot and turn turn turn ugh

Every week when I am under a load. I grease the whole truck. If I just run empty, light, or sit I'll wait till I get a heavy load which is 99.9 % of my loads

I forgot what the flow rate was. I know it was not a small pump. i think it was 6 or 7 gallons a min when they checked the flow might of been a tad less

Both boxes are new, both pitman arms are new. Pump is 2 years and is the same or has the same pressure as the ones on a 2 box system. it is putting out 2200psi when you bottom it out. We'll get it figured out. just gets aggravating when i need to manuver fast i got to either get in a real low gear and keep the rpms up alittle and it helps. or push the clutch in and rev the motor to help turn. This truck is not factory duel box system. But Pete ran the vin and the new axle vin and came up with the solution for the duel boxes.

When I replaced my steering boxes I had 1 hard spot and that was if I turned left and went quick right it bound for a second then turned. Ended up having air in the right side box. for whatever reason it never bled out. Now it works better no stiff spots,only problem I have is it isn't as fast as I would like. I have never driven anything with 2 steer boxes before and I don't know if they are alittle slower then a single box or if there is still a problem still lingering. But it is drivable.

I never had luck with them. I got centramatics on the drives and lift axle. Gonna order the ones for the front floats. then do all the trailer axles. Try to get as much tire life as I can

Are you looking for something with a deep reduction and less top end? Could try a 15 speed it is a 10 with a deep reduction. but idk if a 350 has enough to run it as they do have real long legs. I have seen in a block carrier I hauled a few years ago a 13 speed but it had a deep reduction. Never seen another one like it. If I remember right it had the same handle as the 8ll just think the low 3 where deep and the rest where on the highside. reminded me of a round knob 13 -

Ditto On a side note you could take it to a place that builds dumps out of tractors and get them to recertify the front end to the springs. Idk what your running up there but some states do and well check your door tag and tires. Also get under and look at your front end. Got mine done for 150 with a new door tag -

Hey Randy. Every time I come down 59 just north of Queen city there is a yard on the left if your going south. Has about 8 or 9 R models in various states just sitting there. You know anything about them and whats going on there. Alos I think the next time I come down which seems to be a weekly thing I'll route myself thru Daingerfield.

If that puppy turns out to be like my critter that will be one of the best dogs you will ever have. Only downfall is mine has separation anxiety. If we are getting a motel for the weekend and I start walking around and he sees me he just about has a nervous breakdown. he cries,whines,whimpers you name it. He is super attached to me. Then again I got him at 4 weeks.
