  1. Yep and gearing plays a big part to.
  2. In my Cat I run Mobil Delvac. I seem to get less burn off. Ran Rotella for years.
  3. Welcome to the jungle and you also came to the right place for information. Unfortunatley I don't have the awnser
  4. If you don't have a long enough neck your pissing in the wind. Also slide Pic 1 I am close but not as close as I can get. 19500 on the steer Pic 2 4 teeth showing. 20400 on steer with 110 pounds in tag axle Pic 3 neck extentions work wonders. you get the reach and you can move 3 to 4k forward or backward just moving the kingpin and not sliding. Ditch the Rogers and get a Fontaine. Also there is 6' of slide there. I can move weight where I want and scale damn near what I want. 104k on the deck 20,60,80 on the money. Might want to relook into the config you have. Not saying you do not have enough truck or trailer but you do not have the bridge. Ergo you do not have enough truck or trailer. Move the kingpin forward think it is a couple grand to do. put it at the very front of the neck if it is not there. A few inches or a foot make a big difference. if you are close on your drives now then adding a 4th is not going to help on the trailer as once you pin a 4th in place on the trailer it shoves 4 k forward. ergo you need the neck. It is a never ending battle just my 2 cents
  5. Not saying you have a problem handling the weight. But you are to short to get more weight or for whatever reason. Another axle will give you the more weight without compromising the turning radius of the truck. Short truck going to have to put the axle behind, Or add it to the trailer and yes you can turn but tight turns suck and it is alot of rubber to drag
  6. You know another option might be, How old is the trailer. Is it capable of a 4th axle? should be able to get 80 on the quad. if you can get back far enough, Also with 50k on the tandems so 20 or less on the steer, 50 on the tandems and 80 on the quad. http://www.oversizeloadescorts.com/regs/regs.php?s=ny
  7. but putting the axle on the back he will still have the same wb to turn on. Could get a high humped neck made for the rear lift. But he will get 60k or better on the trips and if he pushes down with lets say a 25k axle he may get more then 14k on the steer. ,As long as the drives are still in the same spot he should have the same turn. May have to get a longer neck or move the kingpin forward to get more reach to keep the trailer closer or get the weight on the steer. On 7 should get min 132k 12,60,60k get the reach more then 12 on the steer. Always got options
  8. Something definatley went wrong there. Last Tuesday had a tanker go northbound over the gaurdrail on 79 just past the pilot in Morgantown. It was backed up for miles
  9. You could do the rear lift. it may get in the way but they do have steerable. A small jo-dog would work also. Or just have it on the back none liftable it will be down all the time but won't get in the way. Can't find the info on the single axle jeep
  10. Unknown years. or models, or Specs. 1 had flat fenders, they looked like tractors. I looked at google and do not see them but I think this is the area they are in. Just North of Montgomery,Al. on 85. if North bound on right side. There looked to be a company there had a abunch of trucks. might of been a pit there also. Thats the best info I have They are nosed to the interstate. as far as I know they are for sale https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=I-85+N&daddr=I-85+N&hl=en&sll=32.367058,-86.087151&sspn=0.030013,0.05918&geocode=FaHh7QEdIGre-g%3BFRfi7QEdFWze-g&t=h&mra=dme&mrsp=1&sz=15&z=15

  15. After 2 days of dealing with the load from hell was running late but stopped off and Got to Meet Ed. Sorry no pics this time. Great to finally do the meet and greet . Will have to get back up there when we got more time. Got to Kernersville approx 1315 yesterday.
  16. When I was a kid we had our 950 out a job and there was a 988. the 988 operator tried loading trucks like we did and ripped the side of the body off. Really do not know how or why but it buckled the hell out of it. I know we could out load a 966 bucket for bucket. that little 950 was a great loader.
  17. Most of the pits down here in Fl load you with 988's or equivlents. Sometimes 980's at the very minimum. 2 passes and gone. Never got to run anything that big but would of liked to.
  18. I hear yeah. They just see the bill and have no concept of what it takes. Congrats. Think I got this with 5 or 6 something low numbers it is Turning almost 967000 as of tomorrow. I know I'd never go back as a company driver. Then again hell it is nice to let someone else deal with the repair bills. Damn PTO is leaking now.
  19. Either good drivers became O/O's or you can't pay them enough to snag them from the company they are at.
  20. Ok before you go and spend the money like you did on the binder. Whats the insurance going to be if this is commercial use?
  21. I really wanted to go. Of course Went thru Lexington yesterday around 1300. Will try and hit GATS next. That B almost looks like it has a super single for a drive tire
