  1. Yes sir. You are right about that. Great delivering to a college. Glad Ann usually stays in the truck
  2. Lets see Got stopped just North of Malvern,Ar about 5 miles south of where 67 and 30 split. Oversize and Fricking DOT pulls me over on the 2 lane nowhere to stop. Get stopped comes up what are you doing here. Showed him the permit and he was like shit when they start sending OD this way. Ran my liscense and let me go. Get to Laredo and come back up Wednesday get to Houston and had some jackass in a 4 wheeler try running under the truck. Pushed him sideways a few feet but no damage to the truck. Was a low speed hit. he got the ticket and of course goes ballistic.
  3. Thats not always the case. Most of those phone monkies couldn't lead you to there house let alone truck route into there place. I still call but usually just follow the permit till the very end then fill in the blanks when I get close and the routing stops
  4. I had a similar story last year. But in my defense I had looked at the map,Put it in the GPS and looked to make sure it wasn't a restricted route. No nothing on the truckers atlas.Road started out good then when I turned onto the last road which still had no restriction road got real narrow. This point I was like I can't back out now. Just took my time till I got to the first uturn. made a hard left. ran the truck off the road and trailer up on the side of the mountain. 15 more turns later and a few trucks passing me trailer just about taking a fence out as it started sliding down till I got to the oncoming side to pull it back up.Made a mental note to myself after that. Anytime in West Va unless it is a US route, or interstate. what way I go into the job is the way I come back out. Also if it means 100 more miles on the route
  5. I still have the pipes on mine but put a muffler underneath. 2 years of straight pipe I had had enough. Still want it quieter. When the pipes finally rust thru gonna get the Pittsburgh Power super quiet full size stacks Or the equivlent and put the side mufflers back on. with guards.
  6. I had a problem Think it was july last year maybe alittle later. Rained like hell the night before and most of the day.Now that it is saturday I make the 250 mile trek to the job. Guy says we are unloading the machine off the side of the trailer. Now mind you this is a PC490 and I got my outriggers out. Told him it would be a cold day in hell. Long story short got to the job went off road enough to get the front of the trailer off the road. Unhooked, pulled away and rehooked. Broke through the grass to the wet clay and it was all over. Got out to the road with the help of a wheel loader and put all my stuff away. Still had half the truck on the road and still had problems getting back out. but was able to under my own power. Wet grass sucks
  7. Since I have no experience with plowing snow with a bobtail I didn't know. Also the few times I've done anything where I drag the neck around it helped with weight but. idk think I just wanted to make sure my trailer didn't drive off where I had it.
  8. You saying you get stuck alot with that shackle permenently attched?
  9. Gooseneck wouldn't give them enough weight to do anything. Should put a salt box on or put 20k on the back.
  10. I have no intentions on buying this truck. Just know there are a few superliner fanatics on here.

  12. Last time I went up there I couldn't get ahold of him in time. Gonna have to try again another day
  13. Fl does to but Oh and some states do not. Also Oh will stop you and ask where the controls are. La will. Got asked in the scale one day empty and guy came out asking where the controls are. told him under the sleeper he looked didn't see it and I dropped it. Now had it been inside would I have gotten a ticket being empty
  14. Yeah I average 1.5 to 2 years a pair of floats. Not for the fact of center tread but the inside/outside wear. From turning with the axle down just pulls the tires down. I hate it but cheaper then a ticket
  15. Alot of my popping has been lack of grease. I hate climbing under this. Getting to the point of to fat to fit. Started taking it to Speedco and get the whole combo greased after every load and no more then 2 loads barring time constraints. Best 47 dollars I have spent.
  16. Start with the 4 car but your gonna upgrade to the 7-9 car in a hurry. I can guarantee that. For the fuel bill you might as well maximize the capacity
  17. You know I am not sure about that. Being mine is liftable but I leave it down most of the time esp in turns I really never have problems turning. With enough weight on the steer you can drag the rest of the truck anywhere you point the steer. Only 3 times I've slid. mostly when I was under 14k on the steer. You do want to avoid tight spots but it will turn. just hear more popping sounds
  18. Been there. Can't remember exactly been a while but delivered to the Waste Water Treatment plant back sometime between 2000 and 02 I think.
  19. Welcome to the jungle. Where abouts in Fl. Hollywood here
  20. Like 84 Superdog said tractive force. But some people are going to them because you got states like Ga,Mo, and a few others that do not want controls inside and give you a ticket, take permits the whole nine yards. So if the axle has got to be down full time loaded might as well make it live. I have been toying with the idea of the next truck or taking my lift off and adding a live axle. Now out of the 2 or 3 times I have gotten stuck would a tridrive have helped. Idk but it couldn't of hurt.
  21. Not bad looking Petes HAd a beautiful R Pass me this morning with a stacked up stick wagon in Lufkin,Tx. Seen him coming up all lit up like a christmas tree. Was fumbling for the phone and no pic. Will be on the lookout next time I go thru there.
