  1. They are a pain in the ass. I don't use them much and when I do I always have a problem somewhere. The front drive has been out 3 times and the rear is coming out asap. I found out what my bang was on sunday when the truck started acting funny this evening. Lock the rears in no problem. Gonna take the axles out and cover the holes. And take the small driveshaft out. lock them in and drive home. I use the low range on the rears ever few months. Or would like to put a 4.33 or 56 for the low side and 3.55 in the high for empty runnign and legal work. Get my fuel mileage up higher. Would like to take them out and put in a 2 or 3 speed auxillary.
  2. Yeah Eatons 4.11's do good no complaints really definatley none on the low end. more looking to get up the hill just a tad easier. and keep the motor more in the power range a little longer. Running a 3406E 600 Cat with an RTLO20918B trans. When I want to get away from someone I can usually give them a good run
  3. Probably just gonna yank the 2 speed rears out and put single ratio's in. Or find an airride set of 52's with the cross locks. not really looking to cut grind and convert. Time would be of the essence to get back out on the road. Want to go to a 4.33 but if I take 1 chunk out at a time gonna have to stick with 4.11's and block off the air switch to the range control. i already have 46's just trying to upgrade I have been getting into more mountainous and getting into a mine every now and then. Also looking into a bigger trailer and want to make sure I do not snap an axle dragging something up in a mine when grossing 180k plus.
  4. good looking ride. they are quick. liked the 4 liter myself lay rubber down the block
  5. out of curiosity hows your coolant level? had a shaker that when it got a little low would run great. get going uphill and it would derate
  6. Thinking that truck was built with 1 purpose in mind. Pull big crap up 10% grades or as a push truck going up the mountains. Lot of big wind projects up that way.
  7. Kinda like this took his truck for a ride on my Lowboy. Gave it a good work out. got to drive at the end. it was a different experience coming out of an electronic Cat to that. Shifting was different to.
  8. Fuller has a version of a 9 speed that does something similar. You start in first or where the lo-hole is. go 2-4 up against the dash go into high and and come back to first or now 5th ( lo-hole). then go like a 10 speed.
  9. I understand that. Nothing like waking someone up. Might of left a note on the truck.
  10. I didn't think they could go that heavy. Seen a think it was a Saftey Clean truck had a gvw on the side of the truck of 54k but that might of been for tax and registration purposes. Tx has some strange weight laws
  11. Anything is better then that
  12. I was not going to go there yet but yeah. Rumor has it he is selling the Macks after taking a ride in a Peterbilt and now he has the Paccar fever.
  13. Hate to see you go. But you got to do what you got to do.
  14. Welcome to the Jungle. I neither own a MACK or a hummin cummins.
  15. I am willing to bet he shipped it there to work after the earthquake. Got nowhere and now just trying to recoup his losses.
