  1. My condolences for the loss of a friend and to his family
  2. Glad your alright Randy P. for once we aren't down there but we are in Morton,Il.
  3. Had an electrical problem today and truck wouldn't start after getting fuel. Was able to coast back and dump the clutch. Called Rob and asked him if he wanted to and would he take a look at my truck as we where heading right thru there. After a bunch of Cussing about it being a Peterbilt and not being able to sleep for the remainder of the week due to the nightmares he told me how to get to his shop, After which he had Yellow dog fired up and told me to take Ann for a ride and leave him be. Video to come later. Think I saw something get thrown but not sure. After he cleaned and tightened the connections The Cat fired right up and Purred. We found a leaking hose and since it was getting ready to pour I got turned around which was a feat in itself. we ran up to the store and found what we needed to get the hose fixed for the time being till we can get home. Now for the best part. I will probably never live this down. After it got done pouring we got the truck fired up and had a light problem which was a fuse and What I should of done and what I did are 2 different things. I should of locked the rears in and took off in 2nd and grabbed 3rd. I turned to early and got off in the farmers field and didn't sink but just spun. Backed up and would of had it but the trailer started pushing the ass end sideways. I gave up before I either tore something up or buried the truck up to the axles and really had fun getting out. Rob fired up the R with the new trans and got a chain. After some coaxing got back to me and we hooked up. With little to no effort he got me moving. Now mind you it is darker then hell out and got a small ditch on both sides. He got me to the road before I stopped and he got wheel hop. I unhooked us and he got out of the way. After a little slipping I got the drives to the road and took off and grabbed another gear in turn putting the trailer in the ditch. I kept moving. It sucked as it was still raining,Dark, and on a 2 lane road with traffic. Once again Thank you for the help and I owe you and the misses a dinner somewhere. Ann did get a pic but all you can see is the outline of the cab barely and the tail lights. I should of turned my lights on but didn't want to blind you. I will post what little bit of a pic there is.
  4. This has been my biggest bitch. Oh you ought to see some of the yo-yo's back home. hell in Ft. Laud they got banned from bringing anything to the shop. They must call and have a mechanic come get it. They hit everything even with spotters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They run heavier then regular trucks. I know a factory rescue is already over gross weigh before the equipment is put in. Sunrise has a tandem platform and it is 83k on 3 axles. Sorry but they got to go over the same weight restricted bridges I can't go over bobtail. and I am a hell of a lot lighter. Before I went out on my own I did drive for a firefighter and we went round and round more me just yanking his chain. I do believe Fire personnel needs to go thru a cdl course to be able to drive something that heavy
  5. Welcome to the jungle. You came to the right place to get the awnser
  6. Thats the same route took us forever. Hell just getting off of 81 and starting down sucks.
  7. Copart bought out Sadisco in Davie quite a few years ago before I got out of towing. Seen the yard sits empty 99 percent of the time. Idk if they went under or not
  8. I hope Pa didn't route them that way. I forgot my routing when I was 17' wide and 154k But it was out of Balt to 81 to exit 116 Not sure the road number up to I-80 west almost 200 miles or so. Ended up on 6 I think it was. then up almost to Ny back down to 80 Got off about the 60 something yard line there is a truck stop there and ran that to just south of the Ta then south to the Plant. 300 mile trip ended up being 650 and both times 1.5 days
  9. Usually what I've seen also is a 1 ton with a fuel tank. probably getting .3 mpg with that and need to have access. I agree seen them dropped in some of the damndest places
  10. I can't beleive they didn't have a push truck. Probably grossing around 350 to 400k Idk unless it was hauled off with a Wrecker why it is sitting there. But Your not going to get into very many truckstops with that big bastard
  11. This has been floating around for a couple of weeks
  12. That was at the port in Baltimore when we loaded 2 weeks ago. There was a 21 axle in front of it. KMX I think has Petes. Maybe broke down or when Was this Pic taken. No movement on Sundays and the cops stop you where you are.

I started using Pilot/J's more since I leased on here. Get a better discount and I like how there point system is layed out and the ease of use. Vs how some of the other systems are layed out. Like the J use to be get coupons and you better spend almost the whole amount as you where not getting change. I usually park at the Wilco on the other side of the interstate from the old Whites. Bigger lot and Doing O.D. I want room to find a spot and not have to fight 5 drivers for the damn spot
  17. They tell you to keep in the middle and don't look over the side as you may over load the one side?
  18. They are a stought looking truck Wish we still had ours and wish I had pictures of it. Had a 23 yard box on it. 335 cummins and a 13 speed. It is the 2nd A-car I ever rode in and 1rst to drive. When I was still in school had 3 with that color scheme which I am sure isn't rare. I cannot remember the name of the company. But for a long time they had the city of Hollywood locked up on there dump station hauling cans out. You could hear them coming a mile away. They'd wait till you got in the cross walk going to lunch and give you a shot of straight pipe Jake it was awsome!!! Next best thing to the sound of a Mechanical cat is a Straight piped mechanical Cummins. The old Macks sounded awsome to. I just remembered the name of the roll off company it was J&A. Think they where out of Jersey or somewhere up there. They sold out or merged with. I don't remember

I concur with the above post
  20. Yeah they are monsters and drink the fuel for it to. Hauled a 773 a few months ago had a C27 I think. I know it was big
  21. Man it is crazy as hell up there. Expensive to. Forget finding parking there unless your real early or just lucky. Last time I delivered there I was able to stay at the customers. Or it would of been interesting
  22. Last I remember I think it was red. Haven't been there or seen it since I was 14 or 20 years ago
