  1. That yellow tractor bears a striking resemblance to a Volvo VT880..... or am I crazy???
  2. When "GAS" was King .
  3. Were there any Valueliners "600's" with Non-Mack power plants?..... Seems the few I've seen have all been the 2v 300+ (or 350?) Mack six. When was the 600 Valueliner discontinued? I've seen plenty of hybrid 700's And I have to agree, it seems a little counter-intuitive to call them Valueliner when they were more expensive to buy. One can only assume that the "Value" was only realized in the long-term, and only if you were hauling by the ton!
  4. I see the grill surround dips down into the front bumper on the 700 unlike the 600. It was only the 600's that were referred to as 'Valueliners" though? I don't recall ever seeing an extended hood labeled as a Valueliner.
  5. Look at that Reyco Suspension..... hard to imagine that on a Mack... Light weight again I suppose? So the RS/RL700 is an extended hood version of the RS/RL600? Am I understanding that correctly?
  6. Nah, no power no where for that green wire.... I followed it from the under dash harness all the way to the bunk switch... no juice . . . I'm more interested in knowing the origin of that green wire in the dash harness...
  7. Good info there Josh.... My truck was originally spec'd with a six speed and the 1005 V8, but someone said along the line that the V8 was too much for a six speed (according to build sheet) and it was changed mid-production to the 12. The carpet was even butchered a little to make a hole where there shouldn't have been one. The fore shifter actually kind of interferes with the heater box. It just seemed like kind of a hatchet job.
  8. Can you tell me anything about the logic involving the outboard steering box? Every other 'r' model other than the early Supers/Cruisers have some variation of an inboard steering box. Right?
  9. Yes, the switch in the bunk is multi-speed. I've tried every conceivable position on the 'truck' HVAC, but can't get it to send power to the 'green' wire. I guess my question is as much about what powers the bunk heater motor? I can't find anything in the glovebox circuit breakers . . .
  10. I have an 1980 Mack with 12 speed, the shift levers are not in alignment with one another (the 'compound'(?) stick is about 6 inches forward).... I thought that was how 2 stick 12 speeds were arranged... then I see the 1982 spec'd the same as mine, but the shift levers were aligned like I've seen most 6 speeds. Any reason for this? When was the 12 speed introduced anyway?
  11. I'm making some repairs to my sleeper, and was hoping to get the HVAC up and going on it. There are only four wires leading to the junction box under the bunk. Red, Blue, Green, White. Red and Blue are for the speakers. White is for interior lights. Green goes to the fan switch. . . my question is about the green wire (obviously). I can't seem to get that green wire to show 12 volts from the truck. I traced it back to the harness in the dash where it promptly disappears. . . Does anyone know where it goes to? What sends power to it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ron
  12. I'm talking about the American version.... are the cabs and hoods specific to those trucks? What was the general intention with that particular model? Looks like the cab sits higher on them. . . I see the steering box is mounted on the outside of the frame too. . .?
  13. Bernie Sanders would say "Those springs are HYUGE!"
  14. I'm lovin' that AM radio
  15. Kevin.... his name is Kevin.
  16. I have to say the default theme BLOWS worse than a a wore out detroit... But change the theme to Carbon or Shift...voila!... she's good to go.
  17. Just unbelievable. Is the site 'noisy'? I suppose the truck could have been quiet....... but man you have to get pretty close to a trailer before someone standing directly behind you disappears in between your mirrors..... tragic.
  18. Did you wire the lights? Might be too bright at night, but might look cool too. You almost have to put something in those empty holes, all your heat/ac escape if you don't!
  19. Thats good to know, may go that route if they can't be had any longer... I really don't understand why they go missing. I've seen several cabs where they're all missing....
  20. AC OUTLET BALLS...Vents... diffusers ... the things that turn the air flow off/on towards or away from you... Thanks!
  21. Have you seen them listed there?
  22. You know the kind that swivel in the HVAC box, I don't care what color they are. Two are missing on the right side, can someone help me find a pair?
  23. Just a review, but, is there any R-E-A-L hard differences other than pump, injectors, timing, and turbo between an '82 EM9-400R or say a '93 CL E9-500? I've heard time and time again there is no difference between a 237 and a 350 two valve.... other than pump, injectors, etc... Oh, and one more thing.... what about EM'C'9-400R
  24. Mack. . . always keep you guessing. I was talking to a guy who says he has an E9 mated to a six speed... So that'd be a EM9-400R then?
