  3. Who actually believed any of this would end well?
  4. Now this is NEWS. It seemed like yesterday when Volkswagen was FarFromPukin'..... a bankable brand like no other. Who would have guessed the emission scandal could lead to >>>>>>> ah, never mind.... it won't happen. As far as the Volvo announcement, if it somehow results in lower parts prices, thats my only interest.

  6. Was there an outfit in your area that had all his trucks done-up that way? It seems the w900's I've seen were MD and PA trucks.
  7. Hey we can't complain about E9's.... my buddy's 6NZ just had kittens on 80 this week. Cleveland Bros. quote $28,000.00 for a Platinum Rebuild. Extended Warranty?! I cannot Loooooozzzzz
  8. Funny, thats one truck I haven't seen them on! There have been a couple w900s I've seen with them. Pale Yellow, Orange, w/Brown feathers. Odd to me. On the Transtar "Eagle" I can understand though.
  9. Thanks, I'll send him an email..
  10. I have seen several trucks over the years painted with what appear to be eagle's wings spread-out over the front of trucks. BIG wings. I have seen them on Kenworths and Pete's as well as cabovers. Does anyone know the story behind these decals? The only example I can find online at the moment is featured on the ATAC website's home screen; where you'll notice the images of trucks wipe across the center of your screen. The first being a Dodge cabover...... But the second image shows a cabover Western Star/Volvo with the decals I'm talking about. Can someone cure my curiosity? http://www.antiquetruckclubofamerica.org
  11. Has anyone ever got the story on how or why he kept them all running for so long? Anyone ever hear of another operator/company doing the same thing?
  12. What is the story on that? Could that realistically be done? Are they producing DC16 mechanical engines? I know guys are converting old trucks to drive by wire, but has anyone tried that with a DC16?
  13. Good riddance. I wish there were more government officials like her who were willing to quit rather than compromise on their ideals.
  14. The minority on the right (from Pittsburgh apparently) doesn't appear to endorse this behavior... or maybe he's just mad because only minority's are allowed to piss publicly? Which reminds me of the farmer who died in a silo. . . he walked himself to death searching for a corner to piss in.
  15. Quebec, I assume.

  17. I have a very good friend that is a Nuc. Eng. I was seriously considering a very large investment in solar panels on our farm buildings. So very very very much work has to be done in order for wind and solar to make much of a difference. Google the Duck Curve.....
  18. Never in my life did I think that the "Liner" in Super-Liner could be mistakenly thought of as lifted from the "Liner" in Freight shaker, er, I mean Freightliner.
  19. They're kind of a hybrid between the H and the Cruiseliner.
  20. Is he the guy who has the V8 rotating assembly avatar? I read several of his very helpful posts before I signed up only to find out he was no longer on here (that I know of).
  21. I kinda figured that was the alternative spelling until 'inter' coolers became ubiquitous on diesel engines. An individual who studies the english lexicon might have a something to say about it. . ? Which raises a trivia question. If someone asked me who produced the first air cooled intercooler, I'd have to say Mack, right? The 285-300 Maxidyne? Maybe in Europe they used them earlier? Cat and Cummins were using water jacket coolers in the '60's. ... And the E9 was the first chassis mounted air to air... anyone know of an earlier one????
  22. Article refers to it as an "inner cooler". ... ..
  23. Never thought a trailer could look so cool.
