  1. Had a similar problem years ago in an "F" model. Had the transmission checked and mainshaft was replaced, helped but didn't totally get rid of it. Finally ended up replacing the transmission. That took care of it. I don't know exactly what was wrong but I always thought the case was probably distorted. Ron
  2. Congratulations! Great addition to the family! Ron
  3. Looks great! Why do you have to drill the pins out of the buttons? The should be roll pins you drive out with a punch. Ron
  4. That is why I've always been very particular about not calling these filters Luberfiners. Some people get very confused with them. Luberfiner=bypass filter. Made for Mack(WGB)=full flow/bypass. Ron
  5. I never heard one when running but have heard them many times after shut down. Sorta sounds like an old wet dry vac winding down after you shut them off. As long as the bushings are alright in the filter cartridge and the oil holes are open in the post in the housing and the bottom of the cartridge I wouldn't think there is anything wrong with it. Ron
  6. Thanks Al, Paul and I enjoyed talking with you yesterday. Sorry I didn't stay for the pulls but I was tired and wanted to get the "Big Mack" home before it got dark. Ron
  7. I would definitely replace the drive hub on the compressor. Also when you remove the compressor check the oil feed tube in the end of the auxiliary shaft. Most times you'll find they're loose or worn. They're not hard to replace, especially if they're already loose. When installing the new one I used to stake the end that went into the auxiliary shaft so it fits a little tighter in the shaft. It's easy to make a tool to drive the tube into the auxilliary shaft, just use a1/4" bolt and slightly grind it so that it slips easily in and out of the tube. Use this to drive the new tube into the shaft without damaging it. Replace the mounting studs with 1/2" grade 8 bolts. Ron
  8. Yes they are basically interchangeable. There are differences involving the drive and adapter for compressor mounted power steering pumps. The older "500" compressor for Macks used an adapter(spacer) with long studs and short nosed compressor where it bolts to the auxiliary drive. The later "500" compressor for Macks used a long nosed compressor eliminating the need for the spacer(and eliminating one more oil leak). There is a "501" compressor made for a Mack with a long nose that will bolt right up. Ron
  9. The Baldwin gasket number is G157. Ron
  10. Glenn and Larry are right, your filter uses an "O" ring. It is not a Luberfiner!!!!!! It is a WGB oil clarifier made in Kingston N.Y. for the Mack Co. The Baldwin filter # is P706M, does not come with the gasket but I will find the gasket # for you. Ron
  11. According to Harvey Eckart's book these were equipped with ENDT-673F engines rated at 230 H.P. Ron
  12. They're actually in Hanover, but I knew what you meant Randy!!! Ron
  13. Congratulations Jim, best of luck with her! Ron
  14. Happy Birthday! Ron
  15. Welcome to the group! Ron
  16. Remember the special tool for setting the fingers Glenn? Used to have one, long gone now! There used to be two different length eye bolts in the pressure plate too! If the rebuilt pressure plate assembly had the longer eye bolts in it you had to make sure the clutch housing where the cross shaft went through was modified. (Flattened with a grinder to make more clearance) If you didn't the ends of the bolts would hit the clutch housing when the clutch was disengaged. Ron
  17. Probably, it sure couldn't hurt! He should have one on the back of the access panel to the circuit breakers and relays. You should have one there too! Ron
  18. Congratulations Peter, as stated above, thats quite an honor. That's a great looking "B" model!! Ron
  19. That's the way our '93's were wired up too. The '85's and '87's were wired up through a parking brake switch. I changed the '93's over to work the same way the older ones worked. Don't remember how, was to many years ago! Ron
  20. Thanks Matt, I can never remember those numbers, the older ones made much more sense to me!!! Ron
  21. A 300 plus is not a maxidyne, it has a normal torque curve. Makes power from 1600 to 2100, made to go with a multi speed transmission, not a five speed. Ron
  22. Happy Belated Birthday Larry! Ron
