  1. How about the truckstop in Hurricane, W.V. that had the L.G.B. trains running around the ceiling in the restaurant. I think the restaurant was called the The Lumberjack restaurant? Nope, actually just came to me The Paul Bunyun Restaurant! Ron
  2. Who remembers Reinauer Bros. Phillips 66 products on both sides of Rte. 17 in Mahwah, N.J.? Ron
  3. Mark, Wasn't that great even back then! Ashland, VA I'd eat breakfast there but after that it had to be junk food, be surprised how far you can go on Lance crackers and vienna sausages! Only place I remember that marked up Tastykakes, what a ripoff. Ron
  4. How about Robin Hood "Truck Plaza" Dunn or Benson, N.C. Cheap cigarettes $2.50 a carton. Used to have a can of comet cleanser in the mens room for hand soap, got your hands clean! Ron
  5. If it is a twin screw there probably is a relay valve mounted on the frame towards the rear end of the tractor. Ken the single axle short wheelbase tractors like the ones we're used to don't have them. This may be a long shot but could the trolley valve be bypassing a little air? Ron
  6. Thanks for asking, I can't keep up with all the abbreviations and had no idea what that meant! Ron
  7. Thanks for posting Keith! Matt, it wasn't originally turbocharged but it was upgraded to 205H.P. ENDT673 in the late sixties. Chassis #B61T21337 Ron
  8. I remember exactly what you're talking about. I remember reading the same thing. I tried it a few times and it worked great but never got used to doing that way! Ron
  9. I must have missed that one Al! Ron
  10. Remember the movie Hijack with David Janssen and Kennan Wynn. I remember at least one shot in that movie where David Janssen had both hands on the wheel, with the gloves with the strap and the little ball. Shot was straight on from the front and that Freightliner shifted a gear plain as day! I always figured Keenan Wynn shifted it! The damn thing had two engines in it too. One time you'd hear it it 'd be a Cummins, next time it sounded like a 318 Detroit! Ron
  11. Used to always crack me up when they'd drop their trailer, trailer stayed perfectly still, never shook, dropped lower or anything! Must have been one helluva set of landing gear! I remember one episode in particular, don't remember the details of the plot, but someone sabotaged their tractor by breaking some of the fins off the compressor wheel in the turbo. Couldn't keep these guys down, Will and Sonny welded them back on! Amazing what they can do in Hollywood! Anybody else remember this episode? Ron
  12. They're the right bags, like stated above, they look a lot different before they're installed. Be careful installing the fitting in the top of the air spring, it's tapered pipe thread and it only threads into plastic.(don't over tighten!) Ron
  13. What are you talking about "the dearly departed Harvey"????? Ron
  14. I don't think you can retrofit a 711 with fire rings. Didn't all 711's have eighteen stud 9/16" stud heads? The earlier blocks didn't have the double corner studs. There was one variation that had sixteen 9/16" studs and two 3/4" corner studs before they went to the twenty 5/8" stud block. The only blocks that can use the fire ring liner and grooved head has to have the twenty 5/8" stud block and heads in order to properly "coin" the fire rings. Ron
  15. You're right Al The "P" engine had the twin intake manifolds, I thought the original rating was 180 H.P. The 205 H.P. was the original rating for for the ENDT 673 turbo motor. Ron
  16. Truck John Lilla used to drive when he worked at Horner Mack in Vineland NJ.
  17. Nice looking little truck, good luck with it! Ron
  18. Happy New Year everybody! Ron
