If memory serves me correctly, if you remove the center console top (the ashtray panel) look down and to the right and you will
see an aluminum manifold.
I believe the stoplight switch is mounted somewhere in that manifold.

Not to step on anybody's toes but I think Mike means they are 1 1/16" hex.
The thread size is 5/8-11 and I'm pretty sure they were "ball face" nuts.
The pt.#s for 5/8" ball face nuts are as follows:
