  1. Great story, sure hope you finally get it, looks like it needs a good home. That is in the top best looking trucks of all time I believe.
  2. I looked for that too, figures they had the rope wrapped around the steering wheel post. Must have been an option that year.
  3. Thats what I meant, an oxe has alot more torque then a horse.
  4. Happy Birthday Bubba.
  5. People move to Maine to get out of the city and all it's problems, then get on the planning board or become a selectman so they can change things like they are where they came from? Can't run away from yourself.
  6. qué él dijo, I don' ¿t entiende inglés?
  7. Sweet truck, looks road ready.
  8. It never was about horse power, it's the torque!!!
  9. We have a winner, I was in a dealers showroom when I saw this, I said, man that thing is butt ugly, the salesman (with eyes looking at floor) yep, asked, have you sold any of em, nope, they got a tent that fold out, yep, why? I don't know, got a cooler and a stereo too. Then they must be 4x4 right, Nope. so their useless right? and he walked off.
  10. If it has something to do with the V8 Mack, I'll gladly help you get back on your feet, . I can remove it from your site forever. Feel better allready don't you? Just say the word, be right down. Anything to help out, thats just the way I am. Selfless!!!
  11. Vermonts really getting into the news, like the State Police Logos painted by inmates on the car doors. Check out the spot on the cows shoulder, hint, oink oink.
  12. 2100 on a 3406, ouch!! Mine had 4:11's and a heavy spec 10 speed, it ran 65mph@1650 if I remember right. That was on 11-24.5 never had to turn it much over 1750 the pulling power is just off idle up to maybe 1500 found this on the C15, might help get you where your going The power rating when used in a truck or bus is 435 to 625 horsepower at 2,100 rpm; RV and fire truck ratings are 600 to 625 horsepower at 2,100 rpm. The total torque output is 1,550 to 2,050 foot-pounds at 1,200 rpm. Total When equal to or less than a gross combination weight -- GCW -- of 80,000 pounds, a truck with 1,750 foot-pounds should have an axle ratio of 1,400 rpm at 65 mph. When over 90,000 pounds GCW, a truck should be geared at 1,500 to 1,650 rpm at cruise speed.
  13. Don't know were to get the grill, but the truck is beautifull.
  14. I'm liking the looks and the power of the Titan, I need to find one at a dealer and check it out. Titan with a 60" midroof MP10 18 spd. Tri axle, I can see it now...........wonder if they'll ever offer a long/heavy haul?
  15. I like the sign and the flashing yellow lights right directly above the truck. 10' 7"... I notice any bridge, wire, tree because I haul tall, but anyone from a pickup bigger should feel a 10' 7" coming.
  16. I was just reading a news article about people calling the police because they see something different. Reminded me of this. I hauled a New Cat backhoe to Ma. on a side street pretty near Boston. I had to unload on one small street and drive the backhoe up another side street to the owners home. The street I parked on, the driveways were so close it was hard not to block one. I finally found a gap between two that the trailer would fit in, so I dropped it there and then had to move the truck and the gooseneck further up the road between two more drives. As I was taking off the binders and chains, a little old lady walked by and really looked things over as she passed, before I unloaded she returned and passed by again, I said hello. I took the loader up to the end of the side street and down the owners driveway and parket it out back and then walked back to the truck. I had backed it up and connected the gooseneck when a police officer arrived. He asked if everything was OK? I said sure, whats up? He said he got a call from an elderly lady that a big truck on her street had broken in half.
  17. Really sad to see these companys going under for good. It's looking tough out there, fuel is on the rise again, and no end in sight, thats going to really hit the country with another uppercut.
  18. Looks pretty sweet as is. More pics?
  19. Now you've done it, gone and made me hungry, not a thing in the house, got to go look anyway. Happy Birthday Barry and Tim, hope you got some pierogies and beer on hand for the spacial day. ,Mark
  20. still tinkering with it. Got alot of odds and ends fixed you don't get done when your driving all the time. I hauled through the winter last year, thought I would get the truck top notch and then hit the road, maybe closer to spring .My only concern is power. I'm affraid it's going to work too hard. Will see in a few weeks.
  21. Sweet, be waiting for the road test results.
  22. I travel route 2 alot, Bangor to NH, Vermont, upstate NY, lots of moose and moose warnings. A car really doesn't stand a chance, they are so tall they fall into the windshield and end up in the front seats. I don't feel so bad with the truck, but the truck would have some serious damage if you hit one. This is one at a taging station on the Golden Road down near Pittston Farm turn. He filled the whole back of the truck.
  23. If I could paint my CXN and it came out looking like that B model, it would be painted tomorrow. Beautiful truck. What part of Connecticut, my first ride in a truck I was around 4 yrs old,53 years ago, it was a Beard Construction B model? They are in Derby and Milford Conn. Maybe same truck.
  24. A few pictures from up home. Nice load on the Mack, it's hardwood.
