  1. Slpwlker, the trailer is staying loaded daily. Once I get out of Maine and get to NY,NJ, or Pa. I go steady. I'm looking for a place to leave my suv while I'm driving for 4 to 5 weeks, then leave the Mack for a few days and go home. Save on fuel, wear, and tolls. The old trailer was alot more sexy, but this one pays the bills. Nothing to it, works like a charm. Should have seen the burn out I did in the winners circle!!!! beautifull track, way bigger then I thought it would be. A better header for the picture would be "Mack takes first at Pocono" typed from Nashville Tn.
  2. No restrictor plate but the new ecu rules are slowing me down.
  3. That could be it, cheap fix too. I'll check into it tomorrow. Thanks
  4. I'm gunna cut the blue wire!!!
  5. Thanks Superdog, I have to get this checked into soon. Need to check to see if it's a exchangable controll box. The turbo is fairly new. There is a rig on it that looks to be vacume controlled that pushes a rod in and out, it had a leaking diafram when I bought it, they just changed the diafram, maybe the unit is bad? It is an AC engine.
  6. I'll tell yah what. Texas sure loves the new Macks, Most of the oil field service yards are loaded with new Macks, Kenworth T800 is popular but it almost looks like Mack is taking over. The new Mack Pinnacle CU? square nose with midroof sleeper and twin stacks is an eye catcher. I know the cabs and sleepers are comfortable because they are the same as mine. I might be looking into a new one some day soon. The Rawhide series is sweet.
  7. Yah, just took it maybe 2 weeks ago or less.
  8. This pops up alot, usually when taking off from low in the low rpm range, under 1200 mostly, sometimes when I let off the throttle and the engine brake kicks in at higher rpms, seldom but once in a while out of the blue while running a steady highway rpm. It comes on active then goes right to inactive, I push enter and it;s gone. Before going to the dealer I would like a little education on what/where it is and why this code keeps going off. Thanks in advance
  9. So far it has been no problem. I've got a good system down and it works. Made every hook one try and gently. Remember I haul long so detatch and hook up is every few days. If I was local and had a blanket permit, no way would I have sold. I had my first load 5 minutes after the plates went on it. 17 mile dead head. Second load 20 mile dead head, next morning. Third load 20 mile dead head next morning. Before it was dead head 300 to 600 miles,or sit 2 days and a day for permits, more fuel, alot more strain and wear. So far this seems to be my nitch. It also fits the power of the Mack, remember I don't have a Cat or an N14 or ISX. I think the Mack is likin' it too. Bottom line is money. Money in for money out.
  10. Went from 46,700 to 36,800 and still can remove the pto pump, tank and oil, filter system and lines, then replace the tires and rims, this should drop another 1000 lbs, so from hauling 33k legal to 41 to 42k legal is huge.
  11. No, looked for someone near or in the truck but didn't feel right bangin' on the door, wish I had seen him for a chat.
  12. Surrounded by all the white slope nose trucks lined up at a truck stop in Tennessee I noticed one a little different, OK, alot different. I took the close up because she's a beauty, not because it didn't stand out of the crowd on it's own. We know this truck, don't we!!! I've seen it on the road twice in my travels. Once in Pa. Typed from a Pilot in Waco Tx.
  13. Don't you know that scares me. I watched a guy try to hook for 20 minutes, then they told me to pull up beside him and load. I pulled in, dropped, loaded, hooked and pulled away to chain and he was still there when I finished chaining. It scares me, but I think I can figure out a rythem. I've seen people beat the hell out of the same Talbert I had when I can hook every time with out a sound. So operators are a factor I HOPE!!!!

  18. Dropped off a military tandem dump truck at Fort Totten on Long Island Monday July 9th and then headed home to Maine. Been a long while since I've seen home. Kinda tight quarters around there for a triaxle rgn. Got off exit 5 and over the over pass and then down the service road to the fort. Then Back to exit five to turn to get on the bridge off the island. Tight squeeze into the fort too. Wasn't too worried, just wanted to get home. Found the drivers too be very polite and understanding about what I was doing, blocking lanes, turning left on red, running on sidewalks etc.. Surprised, being NY. Very pleasant compared to most citys.
  19. AMEN TO THAT ONE "Do I hear an amen?" sent from Pilot, Bryant Ar. headed for Long Island NY and then home. Been a long long time.
  20. I deal with russian drivers weakly on the road/truck stops. they are a little hyper, runing over peoples fenders, hitting their trailers, flying into the truck stops way too fast, taking no blame for anything. Check out the russian drivers on you tube, it's like the biggest vehicle wins, they slam into anything and keep on going if they can.. It 's companys like Swift that hires fresh out of 2 week school and from overseas, they are the reason my insurance is so high. I don't like paying for large corprate greed. Because they are so big they get a better rate and the O/O pays the difference.
  21. It's so hot in Arizona, that my AC is almost useless. Well, if it didn't work, yikes.
  22. A few +'s insurace is cheaper since there is no cargo and I wouldn't do collision either. No log books, only fuel tax and you only need to ifta 1 state so you shouldn't have to pay anything quartly. Don't forget mulch, pea stone, rock, crushed stone, all that pretty stuff, people love it and pay good for it. Add to the per yard cost as any business does when they sell a product plus your trucking charge. Find a good supplier of different materials. Learn what good packing gravel looks and feels like, one bad driveway isn't a good thing. What goes around foundations, under slabs, etc.
  23. !00% correct, floats are liked by dot but front axle weight is was counts. If it's a tandem dump 14600 to 20000 front would be nice. 46 rears also. If you run air ride and light rears they don't have the diagonal strength and you will find yourself swaying in the corners or crowned roads, I have seen some so bad I backed off to give myself room to get around them when they flopped.
