    Yes still can get from Mack expensive. My boss just replaced floor pan on their 2002 RD.

    Hey guys, What was the discussion thread for the part number for the aftermarket heavy duty style bumper for the Superliner? My boss and I are looking for one for my new daily ride. I'll post some pics in a bit. Cheers, Rob.

    That wasn't really the case at the time because he kind of liked the truck and we had it in his shop for a while and it was kind of his pet project with us. That's why at the time I got the price list from Mack for all the parts. Of course some things I made not have needed but the parts man I knew very well just kind of gave me the full gammit.

    Yes he is very knowledgeable and helped with working on the truck back in 05 when we had it in his shop all fall and winter. He said there wasn't anything left.

    I got a price years ago from Mack for all the parts (like a Chinese menu lol) when my mechanic did the last valve adjustment on her and he said that would be the last time he would do it. The price was atrocious then. If I was going to keep the truck and put it back on the road I would do the swap. Yea it wasn't just going to be the cam but everything else with it. She pops slightly through the air cleaner and ticks away but runs. The pic is when we sere still running her. Like I said the truck has been sitting.

    Yea, that is what I'm leaning towards. Better selling point to keep spare with truck. This Spring I will get it going and put first dibbs on here first.

    Thanks for the input guys. I won't part out that motor. If anything I'll keep it because I'm probably going to sell my R model this year. The 676 in my truck needs a cam. I would sell including the motor and some other parts I have. Truck has been sitting and I have to get my International going.

    Howdy been a while. I currently have as a spare motor for my R Model dump another ENDT 676 283 HP. Somebody I know is restoring their 85 RD steel hood single axle that has the 2 valve 300 plus in her. Will certain parts such as the heads and whatever else be interchangeable to work on that 300? Question is he wanted the heads I told him I would sell him the motor. He is interested but I wasn't sure till I got more info. Any input would be appreciated. Cheers, Rob.

    Inside the plastic surge tank is a ring with a float. The low coolant sensor sits in a pocket not touching the coolant it reads the ring. They go bad and get stuck on the bottom so the sensor thinks it is low on water. Can't get to it have to replace the plastic surge tank. Just had to do this on my 2010 Granite that I drive daily. It would also derate the motor. Very annoying. Cheers.

    Some guys that I used to know back here in North Jersey use to have their lock rings chromed and their center rear cones on 58 rears chromed back in the day when everybody ran big tube type rubber.

    Abreu Truck Service in Newark NJ is a big importer and repairer of Scania. A lot of dump truck guys still run refurbished Scanias in that area. (973)824-1450. Cheers.

    To do it the proper way there is also a piece on the trans a plate of some sorts that has to be changed. When I worked at Mack the mechanics did quite a few of these on new trucks that were ordered as 13's and customers changing their minds. This was back in the late nineties. Cheers.

    John's B model here too he chromed the snap rings on.

    John Mauro(RIP) told me since this is his truck at the time that when he got it new he took off the original cones and bought a new set from Mack since they come unpainted and had them chromed and then siliconed the shit out of the backs of the center parts that always weep. You gotta remember this was like 1989 who knows what it would cost now. He also chromed the front snap rings too. There is a guy from NY in my area his name is John P Noto and he has a restored B model that he not too long ago had the rims and snap rings nickle plated which looked really cool. Look his name up on internet his B model should show up.

    You can have the center cones chromed.
