  1. I've seen R Models that had the duel element air cleaner and the hood scoop. I know originally the scoop went to the tip turbine but what was the deal with these that had both? Rob
  2. I have pics of a RS700L with a 12v71 in it. I will post soon. Cheers, RFC.

  7. You can't beat an RD like that for sitework. We would do a lot of work for James Construction out of Oakland NJ and we were constantly on site and you never had a problem with our RD's with big rears and big rubber, Bristol Donalds and triple piston hoists. Never really had to worry about dumping on angles too much. If you did get stuck you were really stuck like up to the pumpkins or down on one side but not that often not like the specs of trucks now with lighter rears and tubeless rubber. Cheers, Robert
  8. Something about the Crackerbox just says cool .I'm sure back in the day though it was a different story as with most trucks of that era. Lousy heat, power, etc. Rob
  9. Yea Mackman they had a whole fleet of Superliners at one time I remember them too. Rob

  13. Awesome Tim looks heavy spec too. I will look for that post about the animal.
  14. In New York any truck newer than 06 has to have a steerable lift axle on it and the pressure regulating valve has to be on the outside of the truck. Not allowed to lift on turns. If you get caught they weigh you as a tandem. We used to just hit the valve just to let some pressure off and hit it right away again so it really didn't look like it was coming up. Leaving a non steering axle down puts tons of stress on the axle and frame. Cheers, Rob
  15. Does anybody have pics of this R700 Black tri axle from Connecticut that had an 8v92 in it with 6 inch straight pipes? It was at Englishtown back in the late eighties? I remember it with a slant Bibeau steel body and he worked for Tilcon because he had a Tilcon number on the cab shield. Thanks, Rob
