  1. Sorry Denny, I have not been able to log in on this site this past weekend, because of security reasons with this web site. Just got off the phone with Barry and he noticed it also and said if it keeps showing up with the shield then call him back. Anyway, the topic was posted Last June 30 2010. If it is a spring issue with latch not holding then either replace the spring or call Kevin with allmacks.com he can help with another latch. Hope this helps ya. mike
  2. Rob, I was about to answer Rick, thinking maybe many are at the Mid America Truck Show in Louisville, KY. mike

  4. Really a nice story SuperDog. I'm glad you were able to save it from going to the boneyard. I'll bet the engine and other mechanical things will be ok once drained and cleaned. Keep us informed. Thanks for sharing! mike
  5. Larry, Sure looks like an expert job, well done. You can use my garage if you need some space. I have enough room for a cab and thats about all tha room I have. All my parts taken off the Mack are all around the truck, lying on tha floor. The driver door is still on at this time but, will need to come off soon for some inner bead blasting where the lower morror bracket is at. Can't wait to see photos of your truck. mike
  6. Hey.......if Barry was wanting the Forum page first, he would have put that first. Right Barry?
  7. Maybe this person could help the pizza guy out. Whatda ya say?
  8. Amazing what some lip stick will do and not crossing your legs. LOL mike
  9. Jim, Yes the ratios can be confusing. I have a 10 speed duplex and a 5:39 rear with a top speed of 47 mph. The truck was used for local city driving and did not need the speed as the highway tractors did. The B Models as you probably already know, only had about 180 HP and used gearing to get the power and speeds they needed for a low horse power engines, not like todays trucks with 4 and 500 HP. As you probably noticed, the tri-plex and Quadra Plex was used more on cement or dump trucks. All of these trucks were geared for mainly grunt power and not for higher speed use. You will get more or better feed back about this subject soon on this site. mike
  10. And I thought Rob was at some Radar Meetings all week. mike
  11. Hey David, Ya think that may be why he has to go to radar school several times a year? mike
  12. Tom, Glad your back in one piece. I was on the way to the airport (John Tune)and had to investigate this truck, and got to talk to the owner. Very interesting history of the old boy. mike

soons we find some extension cords long enough

  14. Jim, I've been thinking the same about my B. Getting a new bumper or chrome etc. etc. The route i've found in regards to the least inexpensive is to straighten the one I have and paint it to my choosing. It can be done, and with little funds from the bank account. A Body Shop is a good place to get advice about these things and can supply a name of a local business that will handle this bumper issue for you. Economic Crisis mike
  15. Underdog, I also found out how it feels to have the ole dog towed. It hurts real bad when ya put the hand in your butt pocket and pull it out. And all tha time worried if they break or bend something. I lost a new rubber chock in my last towing episode. To top that off he wanted me to send him a picture of my truck. It was a Sterling that towed me. They sent a triaxle Peterbilt out when I only requested a single axle wrecker. They could not pull the cable out because it was hung up and frayed badly, so they fought with it and wasted my time since I was late for work and finally had to go get the single axle Sterling anyway. Question, were these people former professors or something? You can't even suggest, or request what you need to them. Congradulations on your truck! mike
  16. Found both trucks. This was before I new how to zoom the lens. mike
  17. Rob, I'm glad that Yella Dog is still "ALIVE" and kicking. I hate to see any vehicle go to the bone yard. I fear that a B Model wreacker near where I live has done so. It sat behind an old building with tree limbs growing up through it. If the fella several businesses up the street got the ok to get rid of it then he has taken it to the bone yard. I stopped in two years ago to inquire about a SuperLiner that sat in a field near the B Model. He told me he saved the hood and cut off the tandems and the rest was sent to the scrap yard. I took some pictures of it only if I can find them again. I think they may be on my phone, but cannot send them since I don't have text capability. I'll look and try to send. It may have been before I got my digital camera. mike
  18. Things are getting harder to find. I would take the filter that you have to a NAPA or CarQuest, and see if they can match it with the size you have. I hope this helps. If all fails, I would not hesitate to use another inline filter to your liking. May have to eliminate the setup you now have. mike
  19. I've been holding out on sending this photo for ? reasons. When I first saw it, it was inside a shed near where I work. I could only see top of the cab back. After several years of going past it each day coming and going home the truck was finally moved to it's present postion beside the front gate. The business is HAMPTON CRANE COMPANY. My dad once told me that him and his dad had bought a KB 6 Flatbed for hauling coal out of Kentucky after he came home from WW2. mike
  20. Art, If you go into this engine section, back to the date of August 24th 2005. You will find information regarding this 707A engine filters. I tried to find them for you also, and ran into the same difficulty as you. I hope that this topic will help you decide on your next move. The old filter # 236GB123A was a Mack # and CarQuest has a filter housing #89750 and Filter #85749 is the substitute for the original setup. Good Luck in your exploration. mike
  21. I have been on that stretch of highway from Nashville to OK City. Made that trip many times. The worst is from Littlerock to Fort Smith. I use to insult Bill Clinton as I passed that stretch back in the early to mid 90's. mike

  23. Tom, tell me that is not Jo taking a what looks like chocolate bath but is some of that fertile VIRGINIA mud bath. LOL mike
  24. Tom, Back in 85 I worked for a big printing firm driving a truck hauling paper rolls mostly and sometimes flat stock at night. I had no license to drive that truck the whole 5 years I drove for them. I had a wreck when a car pulled over from a three lane road to turn right. I caught him with my driver side bumper, spun the Ford Pinto around and caused the car to buckle down onto its tires. I thought it might have killed them but only gave them a fun trip. They could not drive the car. When the police got there he asked me for a license and I could not produce what he needed. To make a longer story shorter, my supervisor and I went to court only for it to be thrown out, cause the car owner did a no show. I hate it when at that time in my life I needed a CDL and never got one. mike
  25. Look how far the combine is hanging off the starboard side of the trailer. Yes I would hope he does not have to travel far. Tom, is the red light a panic light, engine light or what on the lower dash? mike
