Randy, Don't you think she needs the 3 S's ? mike
  2. Yes guys I remember those parts houses fondly. I recall two different stores, one having a engine rebuilding area in the basement called Auto Bearings and Parts. The sign and building are the only thing left. The other place was called Shelby Street Auto Parts. They rebuilt starters and generators. The Shelby Street bridge is still there but only used now for pedestrian traffic for the Titans Football Fans and the Shelby Street Auto Parts store is history for those that still have a memory. I have not rebuilt anything since 1990 and since i've owned my B Model for two years now,I was looking for a radiator shop only to find there were only a few left in Nashville. That was a real eye opener for me. And yes I remember the big auto manuals in the rack. Things were organized and people were glad to help you. I'm proud to have lived during that time in history. Oh yea bout to forget.....I recall an auto parts store called Madam Mopar with women working the counters. That in itself was a real pleasure to visit but, I didn't own a Mopar. mike
  3. Joco, He's probably waiting for your call right now. You can rub noses with him at rob@autoaffair.net He might give senior discounts also if you can prove your age......right Rob? mike
  4. HatCity is correct about Maaco. I've seen there work on inexpensive paint and body jobs. Better off doing it yourself and borrowing a spray gun, masking tape, sanding discs, and newspaper and also doing it outside in the elements than farming it to an economy shop. Make sure you get at least 3 or 4 estimates from different shops. The sky is the limit on costs. Any shop needs to see what the truck looks like so they can determine the cost for your truck. Much Luck mike
  5. I've got a cigarette for other dog but, he has to come and get it. ha ha ha

  8. Hey Jocko.....is yor dawg Man or Female? Why I ask is I found mine by accident by looking at the dawg getting ready to take the radiator out of the truck. Here's a photo of it if it will download. Some of my photo's are too big for the site. mike

  13. Just think how it might be when they start making Electric Hy-Brid Semi Trucks. The batteries will cost a fortune and probably won't last any longer than they do now. mike

Welcome to the site. I have used Kevin All in New York for parts. His phone number is 607-652-7704 if you care to call him. Good Luck on your truck. mike
  15. It just now came to mine that I saw one of these old White's several months ago here in Nashville. I passed it on the interstate I-65 going south bound. It looked like a fresh restoration job and was running about 60 mph. Two men were inside and was in deep conversation. I lost site of the truck. I figure it exited the interstate at Charlotte or Church street. I used to see these old White's when a kid and most of them were the Allied Van Lines trucks which were a dark green as this truck was. mike
  16. Yea, I'd like to know what that truck was used for. Look at the Air Cleaner in front of the engine mounted on the frame. It looks like a lift axle. Got my curiosity going also. mike
  17. I figured by the end of the day the mirror will be at the foot of the bed or mounted on the ceiling. And then you'll see the BOOGIE MAN. mike
  18. Hey Mark, Are you sure that truck has seen the road? Cause it looks like its been in the show room instead of on the road. Mighty nice ride i'll say. I can't see any chips from the photo's here. mike
  19. Now I know what I can get you for Christmas. To help promote and generate a good piss for Rob. Anything to help Rob promote good health and well being. mike
  20. Also don't trust anyone that post photo's or say's don't be afraid. Be especially careful with anyone driving a PeterBilt and say's they like Macks. mike
  21. Mark, Now you helped me figure out why my Grandad, my dad and myself has allways worked on cars. Only problem was I never had the opportunity to work on one of these models. Here's laughing with ya. mike

  25. I'm just getting to my g/f house, Nashville time 9:44 p.m. to give her, her car back. I drove 783.6 miles today. Left home 5:02a.m thought i'd get there at 10:15 like I had said. I wrote down from the web-site Exit 33 off I-40 and wound up calling Brad Wike. He told me to continue to Hickory and go south, which was exit to 321. I had no map with me and mostly guessed how to get there. Brad had turned off his cell phone. So I was lucky to get to the show..... period. I guess I got to the show by 12:30p.m. I took some pictures of TOMATER and got to talk with our new President of the ATHS Mike Tuttle and saw a guy that looked like OtherDog since I was mostly looking for him during my truck show adventure. Sure was plenty of walking and was mostly overcast day. Sure was some ugly lookin women there at that show. I left the show about 2:30 eastern time and what took me so long to get home was sitting in one lane traffic for many miles trying to get to Ashville, N.C. going West Bound. I'll post a few truck photos soon when I find my computer cord so I can down load them. mike
