  1. Bigen, So your saying that Tonto is a back door man? Since you said he could take him from behind? mike
  2. Matt, Have you tried Kevin All with allmacks.com? He has helped many of us with our projects and has many B model parts. They are very kind and helpful. Off hand I don't have their phone number handy but you can go to the web-site and retrieve it. mike
  3. Mark, My welding skills are %*@<^ tried 2 years ago to go at night after work to one of the closest comprehensive schools only to find it was for younger guys & dolls that were making a career out of welding. This is a big let down for me and probably others. Schools have drasticly changed since I last went. My last course was motorcycle mechanics back in 1975. So i'm screwed and feel it more often each year. I'll fix it and will look right....can't have it any other way. My machine shop near my home has made excuse after excuse, I think it's because I don't bring them large enough business. Man.... America has changed. I had my air tank welded at another place and you should see what a glob of metal they applied during my only visit. I'll post it. mike
  4. Hey Thadd,......ya forgot to tell about tha transmission and engine what it turns. This can become confuseing the back ackards termanology. There I go getting excited and can't spell. mike
  5. Let me be the 1ST to say WELCOME and by tha way..........since you are in central ILL. have you eaten at tha Road Kill Cafe in tha Farmington area yet or know of any shaddy characters from that vicinity they call themselves ROB? We have other names for this character but can't say on tha web-site. mike
  6. Both trucks are in a HAPPY place now, with bright lights and insulation. Also a Rob Smoke Fan in the back, top of garage to keep from waking up later with a terrible headache and stubbling around looking drunk. Ya got to hand it to him,....he's an interesting earth being. mike

  8. Rob, that is what was in the back of my thoughts but hoped I would not have to weld in this close area and also has a curved lip where these screws are so high up near this curved area that they show up like a sore thumb even when the door is shut. I'll do it right even if it takes me awhile. mike
  9. Thanks Jay, My lid was stuffed with duct tape for a get me by. I took my g/f for a ride this past week and the lid fell open and luckly her legs were not hit by the lid but came close. So I decided to fix it until I got ready to paint the interior. I've adjusted the lid side to side and up but, it does not fit as it should to cover up the screws at the top that hold the latch. Again Thanks mike
  10. Last night I installed the latch catch with two screws and it still will not catch the lid. I'm wondering if someone had drilled two holes above where metal once was and tried to fix the lid door so it would not fall down? My hopes are for someone to post a photo of their glove box for me to see if I need to cover the area with a piece of metal and drop down and drill two holes lower than the ones you see here? Your help needed! Thanks mike
  11. Hey Rob, I just thought of it before you did. LOL mike

purple and yellow would be bitching, probably have Rob hanging round all time though

  16. Trenton, A good place to start would be the web-site called oldmacksrus.com click on Info, then click on B Model Info and you choose which diagram you want. The 24 volt pos. and neg. ground diagrams are there for your electrical pleasures. Hope that helps. mike
  17. My garage has lights up. The insulation is allmost finished. The walls will be finished by this friday. Thank Goodness it's almost finished.

  18. Good to hear it's still running. Hmmm are you sure you turned the ignition off?.....Cause I believe I hear it still running. There is three distinct sounds of an engine that i'm used to hearing which is. 1. Straight pipe B Model Mack 2. Rolls Royce Merlin 12 Cylinder out of a P51 Mustang Fighter Plane 3. Top Fuel Dragster on Nitro Methane Fuel And I like all three of them. Keep us posted with photos mike
  19. I'll second that motion same as Jay's. I'd rather pour the dirty oil out and wipe the unit clean and put new oil back in than have to buy a new filter insert each time it needs one. The way it is now, you buy nothing. Most of us have some clean oil around the shop. Thats just my 2 cents worth. Money is no object to some people. mike
  20. Hey.....we only live once.....go for it. mike
  21. Those horns would make great powder horns. I got this civil war Confederate Sharp Shooters rifle called a WhitWorth. It was made famous here in Tennessee by only the best of the best shots in Gen. Patrick Cleburnes regiment. Only three were sent to this outfit. I have one of the stories of one man of that outfit. You would not believe the size of the lead bullet. It is 2 inches long, and is a 45 caliber not like the enfields the privates used such as a 69 caliber. Believe it or not I have shot this gun over a picket fence with some renactors laying on the ground in front of the muzzle and could not stand the sharp crack with only 60 grams of powder behind the bullet. It is louder than other calibers. The recoil is just like an artillary piece where it comes straight back, not up in the air. mike
  22. OtherDog will be excited when he see's this thread and most likely be ready for a Claira ( Where's Tha Beef ) run to Texas. mike
  23. I'm goin to have ta talk to Jo about that garden. She's probably needing some more Goo Goo's about now, unless somebody else ate them instead. She has a splendid lookin garden. mike
  24. Tom, I think it's time to make a gravy run to Texas. I mean meat run......I wonder how much room in yours and my freezer that Clem would take up? We would need to go by the Road Kill CAFE so he could get some to add to the Menu. mike
  25. LMAO....LOL....Yea,.....I can see it cause I was thinkin it. That cloud of smoke was not from any truck. You and her was discussing peace talks with tha Peace Pipe. mike
