  1. Hey, we've been using that forever down here. It's not a new measurement the indians were the first to show us that. mike
  2. I gave them a call and got it ordered and it should be here by friday. I'm surprised of not hearing of them been by there many times. My many thanks for your help and knowledge of them. THX mike
  3. AL, Looks like someone took good care of their baby. I remember occasionally seeing an Autocar here in my area also when I was a kid growing up in the 50's & 60's. I have always been partial to the B Model Macks. My older brother would point out the other trucks and tell me about them. Looks Great, take good care of it mike
  4. I just got off the phone with MACK OF NASHVILLE and they corrected the part # 446 TC 25 to Part # 446 GC 25. They just called me back and said they could not sell me one seal but I had to buy 10. They would not split up a case for one. I told them to forget me. Just my luck again mike
  5. Hey Barry, How much better is this rubber setup than the lead dust cover in longevity? THX mike
  6. Tom, Next time you go to Foley, AL try to eat at Lambert's the resturant called the Home of Thrown rolls. It's an all you can eat. They come around the tables constantly asking if you want the food they have in stock pots. Their is another Lambert's in Sisksten, MO. Me and another of my pilot friends flew the Arrow to Sisksten several years ago about 5p.m. getting back about 8p.m.......Your picture of the battleship reminded me several years ago of a visit to Mobile to see a WW2 pilot friend that told us the best fish resturant around was the FISH HOUSE under the bridge about where you took this picture. A great place to stay in Mobile is in Fairhope, south of the bay called the "Grand" it is a Marriott Resort. I've stayed their back in 2007. mike
  7. Yea Glenn I know what you mean. When I drove for a local warehouse, I sometimes had to fill in for the dayshift driver and work 16 hours. I would pick up my first load early a.m. and unload at the warehouse and get thru about 8 a.m. Their were 4 of us sitting inside a small office on the dock. The boss would let us sit down and before ya knew it we all were asleep. Pratt was the boss and he always kept his ears open just encase a trailer would pull up or maybe some of the big wigs would come in. Once I recall we were half asleep when Pratt told one of the black boys they called(JAWS)that That's was one tired Man.....meaning me. mike

  13. Back during the late 1950's my grandad use to build homemade electric lawnmowers. He was the gadget man and would tackle anything and sometimes it could be halarious. He even came up with a dehuller to dehull walnuts. The Nashville Banner paper came to his home and interviewed him with his contraption. I remember seeing it back about 1971 in his shed behind his garage. I miss him cause he would have been glad to give me a hand on my Mack if needed. I recall a time his son, my uncle was waiting for grandad to come over and work on a cheepie Sears mower. As drandad pulled up and got out of his car, my uncle explained to his father what had happened to the lawnmower. Grandad had adjusted the clutch where it would not release and while uncle had been mowing causing him to flip over on top of my uncle after getting too close to a tree. Gasoline was seeping out onto my uncle and uncle said the lawnmower was on top of him still running. Trying to make a long story shorter, if you can use your imagination, it was soooo funny, i'll never forget my grandad laughing his butt off while his son was practicly in tears telling his dad the story. I still laugh today when I think of it. Oh by the way....there is a web-site that has flying lawnmowers on it but have forgotten where to look. mike
  14. Tom, Everybody knows that a cat is cantankerous. This summer we could put a dog in fur ya an let it bark. mike
  15. Hey Larry....Back in November when changing oil for the first time in my B I went to the NAPA center and priced a filter. The sales person had to order it from Memphis and took 2 days to get it. When I called on that friday to pick it up they did not have it yet but was told it would be in the next day which was saturday. So on saturday I just took off for the NAPA store. On arriving I asked for my sales person which they told me he was not in. So they looked up the filter and it was there and brought it out to the counter for me. They told me it would be $52.00 and I said no it won't. The person that quoted me the price said it would be $35.00. It was an intense few minutes because they brought out the manager inwhich I had to explain what I was quoted. And again I waited another few minutes to see if they were going to sell it to me or not. To make a longer story short, I have a $35.00 dollar filter and will never again get a filter for near that price........and I recently found out that the saleperson no longer works for NAPA. JUST MY USUAL LUCK!!!!! mike
  16. Thanks AJ, but I cannot take the credit on the wheels. They need painting like everything else on this truck. All paint on the truck is of correct color, I do know that. Keep us posted on your project often. Good luck! mike
