  1. Welcome, just make sure that you do not tell where this treasure chest is, because we have someone that is trying to save all the macks for himself. And make sure that you get the truck of your dreams down on paper for him to sign. Back in 2002 I joined in with other Memphis Belle WW2 B-17 people for a donation to restore the aircraft. Only to find that the Air Force still owned it. After all the money we socked into her privately, the aircraft finally was sent to the Smithsonian Institute in D. C. and this will be it's final destination. It will never be flown again which is a good thing. Welcome to the site Regards mike

    Mystery Part

I looked at the pump last night and it is an American Bosch without the provision of the throttle hold as I can see. I will post a picture asap when I learn how again. Also, what makes the fuel in the tanks want to expel out while on a level surface? Its coming out of the caps on both sides. I know that its expansion during this hot weather but it is enough to get my attention. mike

Rob, I'll have to get back later in the week for the photo, but otherdog knows how to talk to the bulldogs and ask anything from them. He's the Bulldog Whisperer. I bet he carries a big themometer with him inorder to get them big dogs a talkin. I do know that it's a Robert Bosch pump and did not look as if anything had been mounted for the cable to hook to. It would be nice to use this setup when going any distance. Thx mike
  4. Just curious as to what the square box in front of the fuel injector unit on a thermodyne 673 is ? I have a line coming from inside the cab that says throttle hold and the line comes out but my truck does not have this square unit. The site that I saw this on is www.supermotors.net/registry/media/576224. The line that I have feeds no where. Thanks mike
  5. randyp, Man, that could have been MIGHTY MOUSE you tried to snuff out. Don't you have any conscious? Even Rob waits until the varmint has been dead awhile before he scraps it up off the road or else where. And I thought you were a great candidate for being a true Mack patriot. Must have driven a Peterbuilt at some time in his day. Man, now my hero is dead from some button pusher got happy with his finger. Probably had the other finger somewhere else. .....can't believe it happened to the hero of a many of us kids growing up in the 50's.....now i'll never get to see my little friend again. I just hope none of us Mack guy's don't fall into any dumpster near randyp's house or weve had it. mike
  6. Herb must be in the hospital getting his stomach pumped and resting about now cause we have not heard from him. mike
  7. I hope fullfuel01 got his answer he was looking for. What I got from it was all filters were having some kind of issue on one truck with a baldwin and the others were about automotive filter problems, not the B61 Full Flow/ By Pass filter. What about Newtons Law Of Averages or what comes around goes around. I believe this pertains to anything thats possible. fullfuel01 did not answer back so I guess he's either satisfied with the answer or confussed like me. mike
  8. The dog took one look at the fat woman and said i'll take my chances with the deer instead. mike
  9. Doesn't that just make a person want to get a good lawyer? I would have to go see Ms. Erin Brockovich. mike
  10. Good looking H.....keep up the good work and also welcome to the Mack site. mike
  11. I believe it must have been raining outside when he said that, when all of a sudden thunder scared him and he jumped saying scrain. It simply means he's scared of the rain. See....yaw knew this.... you were just testing Tom just to get him to fess-up to it. Later mike
  12. Hey Herb, I just called the Mack parts guy here and he said they were selling the filters in packages of four and were a crossover Fram # C-206 for the price of $28.75 each but have to buy four to get them at that price. I asked if he could get the OM's but he said they were no longer available thru Mack.......OH!!!!Ok...I'm also needing the full flow/ by pass. We have only one Nashville Mack Dealer left. If I can go with a Baldwin will someone on this site get us some numbers for this application ? Thanks mike
  13. Rob, I've just now read that article. It is a very informative one about filteration. I've many times thought of trying a magnet on the bottom of oil filters but also thought the wear and tear was so gradual that after the years and time went by that it didn't matter much. I just got tired of the vehicle and would sell it before anything became worn out. The only engine that I recall my dad throwing away was a 1948 Chevrolet Sedan 6cyl. My brother found a 1955 Chevy truck engine to replace the other and dad buit it with a 54 Corvette cam installed. It was a sweet running engine but the only draw back was the low ratio differential it had. Top speed was 80 mph. I remember that it was a joy to drive that car. When I was 14,home from school and no one else around, I would drive it up and down our very short driveway and could shift it into third before hitting the brakes. I could barely see over the steering wheel. My dad would have given me the ole General Patton slap if he had caught me. Thanks for posting the article mike
  14. Permission granted.......at ease soldier. State your name, rank and serial number. Not only is your mission to enjoy the Mack comrodery but also to participate in the events and enjoy talking to Rob about his driveway adventures also Otherdog about his big tomatoes and Peter trips etc. etc. Welcome Aboard Soldier Company.........Dismissed mike
  15. Herb, If I was near the area, I would bring the Buttermilk, Sardines, White Onion, Chitlins, and Green Olives. That should help the cause. We have a cleanup lady here at our building that I named those delicacies after. Called a number 7 Vella special. After Vella Wilson she's called.......special recipe. Try not to give Rob anything that would mess up his diet. EAT HARDY!! mike
  16. MY NAPA DVD shows.....61-71 Lube #1233 and the early ( Opt. By-Pass ) #1030...if you call NAPA they can help if you, tell them what you have, describe it to them. And you also may take it with you so someone can match it without going home and later finding out it was the wrong filter. Oouch i've done that before. Keep us posted mike
  17. Josh, Congradulations on getting a Mack. I'm a little partial to the B's myself, but do like the other Macks also. I believe that the Mack Museum is moving from it's location, but you can call them at 1-800-866-1177 Monday, Wednesday and Friday to be sure. If you will give the person at the museum the VIN # of your truck they will gather all build sheet specs. and manual for you to have for restoration of your truck and will send it to you in a week or so. It also would be a good idea to send the museum a donation for helping find your trucks info and will help keep the museum open for the rest of the world to enjoy. Many Regards! mike
  18. Hello, I believe I can be of some help to you. I have the original oil bath air cleaner as well on my B61 673P engine. With the oil bath you are not buying air filters, just cleaning a pan with oil and back flushing the dirt from the metal gause type filteration material. I used to find older cars and trucks had these filters and were a great system. Drawbacks were they were larger bulky filters and you had to put fresh oil inside the pan, meaning you got your hands dirty. Later vehicles have the dry filters. They are still large but you only have to change the dry filter element costing you money that you could have to buy more cigars and beer etc. etc. .....As for getting more air for an naturaly aspirated engine of anykind, you have to open up the cylinder heads, ports, polish etc. big cam for a better profile, depends on what you are going to do with that engine. As for me, I would not change a thing but getr cleaned up and enjoy the exhaust music and watch the heads turn when you go down the boulevard. MACK FOREVER.......YEA!!!!!! mike
  19. Thad, Yes she could be a mother etc. etc. but mothers have Obama's support and if she cared about her job or any job she would not treat people or the job with that no care attitude. Yes many people that have jobs have to be reminded of how important it is to care enough to learn and keep it. I have to watch what I say where I work or out the door I go. Its all about the attitude in life anyway so she needs to be taken down the button hole. We have to occasionaly be reminded of better customer relations. This country could use a good dose of smart a#$ pills it may help to save it from it's own destruction someday. Heaven Help Us! mike
  20. Thad, I move the motion to give them the AXE! anyone second ? mike
  21. Hi Herb,

    Be Cleaner

Larry, I'm absolutely happy for you, only makes me want to be there and see it all happen at the races. For the g/f ya might want to put her to bed early and sleep in separate rooms to where you want be so uptight the next day. The races will go alot smoother without having the wildthang the night before. I found that out from an old sargeant during my old snipper days, the nerves ment everything at that time. Back in 96, I bought a 95 Honda 1100 Shadow cause I wanted a Harley again. I kept it probably a year and was not happy with it, so I traded it for the Harley I have now. Honestly, glad I did. It has been a very good bike, but I can't get used to all of the attention it gets. mike
  23. Greg what else can happen! Sounds like all hell broke loose at your corral. mike
  24. Sniff, Sniff,..... Rob is that you crying?.......man I left my hanky at home and I too can't stop crying. Why don't we all just pack up some steaks and head up to Gregs house for a cookout and have a truck show for him to see. That way he'll not miss out this weekend. mike
  25. Morgan, Stop your whinning....... if your wife has confidense in you, then you know that we Mack Mates can tolerate you being slow. Just think.....i'm still trying to learn how to spell and use my words correctly. mike
