Larry.......man.......where have you been ? I've been waiting on race reports from you all summer, and i've heard nothing. I hope all is well with you and your pit crew. I would really like for you to do an update on a newer video without the left hand knob turning the tach. it is the coolest video i've seen to date. Your idea of a caustic bath is great.....but i'm trying not to have to send my truck out for Rob to paint it yet. I'm not ready for that PINK hood color he did for Tom's mixer. I sure hope that after the party mixer we didn't cause the color to fade any after drinking all of that TEQULLA !!!! ya should have been thereeeeeeeeeee. mike
  2. I would be proud as punch to do it but, noboby wants to stay around long enough to help out. In fear of getting some on them I would guess. And further more Morgan and Rob was supposed to do a shifting video but I think Morgan was afraid Rob would fall off the hood of his truck while videoing......Can you see it.....Rob turned around back to back with the Mack Dog sniffing Rob's........well I hope ya got it so as I don't have to explain......maybe Rob was afraid of the BullDog on the hood. I just can't imagine why no action has been pursued yet? I'll try an do better!!!

Howdy Rob, Thanks for the reply. I would like to eliminate the diesel bath and go straight to the hot soapy water. I wonder if taking the breather to the car wash would be ok as long as the pressure is not too strong for the breather material ? Question, is the breather material a metal mesh or something else much more fragile ? I'm not too fond of the fuel idea for reasons of possible engine runaway later. mike

    Be Cleaner

After getting my B inside the new garage I could not wait to get a project going. So I started on the Oil Bath air cleaner. Needless to say it looks like a big grease mess. Don't see how it started or ran. So if any of you have any suggestions as to how to clean this breather, i'm open for suggestions other than using matches or torch related items. I started with the pan that holds oil. It's now as clean as my old mess kit. Next the bottom or first filter was a pig sty. I started using Mean Green and this stuff didn't do anything to help but kept on using it. I finally got the ole hot water and dish detergent on it and thsat helped alittle. Got the air gun, 20lbs. pressure to it. Didn't want to get too happy with this and collapse the insides. So i'll need some direction when getting into the next phase of this project which is the big breather. I'll probably back flush it just like i've done the pre-filter but I really need to put it down into a bath of solvent, use air and back flush all of the crapp down into the bottom of a pan, barrel or rubber trash can. Note: During this cleaning i'm trying not to cut the exterior paint off of the breather, so can ya'll tell me a great way to save the paint but cut the grease etc.? Many Thanks! mike
  5. Got to put the B inside the new garage sat. before the concrete ramp was put down. Me and the g/f built a concrete block ramp and she went in like Flynn. The only things left to do before the garage is finished is for the rollup doors are to be installed.....and I can hardly wait. And also a piece of trim on the back side on top of building. The last thing to be done is a concrete driveway will be last on the list. I like the gravel at this time because of the cleaning etc. mike
  6. Morgan, Man you musta crapped a bunch after eating Robs RoadKill Stew. I'm glad you were able to stop at the Iowa80 to relieve yourself. It can be a real disaster when a Rest Area is miles away when needed. I would blame the exhaust mishap on Rob......cause the stew was drugged. That Burnin Feelin mike
  7. Yea Man, I'm just getting back from that show. Tom really knows how to party with the B53 mixer. It must have had 10,000 gallons of Tequilla inside the mixer. Everybody was gettin down an dirty, even the band. I believe the red hood finally turned to a pink in color. Can't figure out why Rob didn't show up? We saved about a 1000 gals. for Rob to drink. mike
  8. Fred, If you just get the video going for all of us on lookers we'll forgive you....... ....... then all will be well again but, not forgotten. mike
  9. Sorry Rob for BUTTING IN... butt.....Why do you and Momma get only red marks instead of BLUE ones ? Ya know the blue ones are real score keepers the red ones mean ya'll are only smacking each other alittle, where as the blue ones are where ya'll are doing a real bangup job..... mike
  10. Greg, I was ready and waiting to go for a ride when all of a sudden the film went blank. Must have been me going back to sleep after a Mack Dream. Just some good dreams are shorter than they should be. And Greg would you show Fred how to take a shifting video of his B Model, so we can all enjoy the ride and educational matters ? Thanks mike
  11. Welcome and Congratulations Steve, I was 9 years old when I went crazy about the B models. Now that i'm 10 years old, I'm still crazy. I drove mine also when I was pondering to buy it. I was lucky that the previous owner brought it to me on a lowboy, last year, end of August. Did you buy your truck from Dennis in upstate N.Y. ? I'm trying to learn something everyday and I still have many questions. I'm in the process of finishing a warehouse on my property to put my truck in. Ya just can't get one big enough for all of the future "TOYS"........ right guys ?.............Steve, remember to keep the shinny side up. Regards mike
  12. James, don't whup him too bad, cause he's already been whupped on. Jist check out the xrays of his leg. If his dad's like me in doing what he likes. I get in trouble doing that everytime I try.
  13. Joe, I've ben trying to find out if Tom with his mixer is going, so I can bring the teki lights and fix up a bar on his mixer. He's ben keepin a low profile lately for some reason. It may be his g/f cause they don't like for us guys to get together and have fun. Maybe they think we's a talkin bout them......LOL....LOL...I mean what else is funner to talk about than guls. Saw one walkin down the street the otherday....had shoes bigger than any man size 13......and lo an behold was swingin a brammer bulls hind quarters.... can't ya see tha flies swarmin......g/f said whach ya lookin at, huh......I just told her I though I seen a brammer bull got loose and was walkin down tha street. She didn't think that was funny, but I did. Back to tha subject........if Tom doesn't answer to this....then I can get into trouble here the same as up their. mike
  14. Mornin Tom, Just wondering if you are still going to show up with the mixer at Linconton, NC the 24th ? How will I need to exit to find the farm from the interstate ? mike
  15. Fred, You have my respect for keeping the truck in this country. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come. It looks really good. Will you keep it the same color or come up with a custom look ? mike
  16. Well Fred did say you and he were going to mack video of the shifting of the B.......so I guess you will be invited to see this new member of Fred's family...... right ? mike
  17. Hi Glenn, What are you saying about a bad air compressor ? I happen to have one on the B at this time. I'm 2 weeks away before my new garage is finished. The concrete floor has been down for 3 weeks this saturday and the structure is finished but am waiting for the metal to be delivered and crew to get back. I started the ole Mack tonight, ran it up and down the driveway. Starts up just fine, but the brakes will no longer hold air very long. But that will soon be another finished project. mike
  18. Rob, Do I recall once you saying that you have plenty of room just incase a truck needed a bigger home or something to that nature ? mike
  19. Will an engine normally need new sleeves or pistons w/ rings ? I've made the mistake in having a machine shop knurel the guides before and will never do that again. Thanks mike
  20. Glenn, Since you mentioned blow/by......what is the normal cause of blow/by ? I always figured it was because of an engine stopped up from too much carbon and the end results was a full rebuild. Would you enlighten us on the subject, please ? Thank You mike
  21. So Herb, what you are saying is, the engine and transmission were painted the same color as a single unit, together ? Thank You !!! mike

I wondered how you got this photo, cause I have seen these two girls. The one on the right used to work at a Service Merchandise store here in Nashville. The other girl i've talked to before but can't remember where. I keep thinking she was working at a hospital here also. mike
  23. Hi Paul, I was remembering the color of Larry's P as his is painted gold. I like to stay with the correct colors if at all possible. Most car trans. were a natural metal and we used to paint them with a clear-coat. I just don't know about the trucks color's. Thanks mike
  24. Greg, I bet Rob would have to cut a hole in the roof so he could see out. But would sure get to the street before running out of fuel...LOL mike
  25. Hey Bobby, I'm afraid too many people at the truck shows would open the doors and look inside, hop in and want to buy it....... ......anyway let me know how your's turns out, it will at least get 2nd stares. mike
