  1. Tom, I'll be wanting a front row seat to see that episode......which one is Curly?......Uh wrong movie......Sorry. mike
  2. Greg, Thanks for the headsup and long research that you have done. We have been hearing this for quit sometime but we are never ready for the outcome. Regards mike
  3. When me & tha g/f go to tha Drive up Movies in da truck, I tell her not eat anything in da truck, cause it might git under tha treddle- peddle and can cause all kinds of trouble.................. So now we carry a blankie with us. After tha movie we just shake it out on tha ground next to someone else's vehicle while's it still dark........see no mess and nuttin gits under tha medal-peddle. Tha END.....everybody's happy now! mike
  4. Yea an i've even known where a dried up bugger can get under them trolley's and make em stick open.......and you can have a real nightmare when a piece of dried up bubblegum gets under one. Knew a fellar once that said he hada one of'em rubbery things get under his buddies. mike
  5. Aj, You can still use the airstrip without having a plane. You can use it for testing the Mack. Start at one end and see how fast you can shift through the gears before you get to the other end. Might want a buddy to check you with a stop watch and use a checkered flag. I can see the adrinalin flowing right now. That natural HIGH! Man.....wish I could be there to see it. mike
  6. It's not going to matter much unless you all are going to truck shows and be judged by the best of the best trucks. They will make you feel right at home by using the ( WHITE GLOVE ) method on your truck and count off on cleanliness and if you have the correct bolts etc. etc. and the right shade of paint for the right year of truck. And I should mention that they will use judges that have been judging trucks for years. You will go home feeling great about your $100, 000.00 dollar plus truck. And just think about that BIG trophy that cost them $30.00 dollars at the trophy house to buy for you to go home and collect dust on it and the ole lady gets to dust it off for you. I've been there done that and the twenty or so I have, have not seen daylight since 1989 from still in the moving boxes packed away in my basement. It's just like sex.....feels good for the moment and it's gone and ya can't wait to do it again. So go and spend some money.....they ( Mafia American Business) need it worse than you do. Good Day and Happy Motoring mike
  7. Well Rob, Checked out the Cardinal last night and was not very impressed with the paint outside, the interior needs replacing and needed some panel repair. The nose gear felt a little loose on taxi, but the front tire looked a little low, pumping up the tire to recommended 31lbs may help the problem. Did stalls at 3,000 msl and it feels just like a 172 SkyHawk, and I have flown a many of them. The flaps are like barn doors which is a good thing for short fields and or an Emergency situation, flaps have bearings instead of piano wire and bolts as hinges. The doors are like a 2 door car, big and long and if the wind gets behind them they will be history. The performance of the plane shows a bit worn with 2385.7 Hobbs time, Tach time was 3850.2......it is a 1977 model I forgot to add that in yesterday's post. The 530 Garmin was the only thing that made me feel good about the plane. It has a bigger screen than the 430 but I believe I can live with what I have. The Cardinal glides through the air at 87 mph or 74 IAS and Max. T.O. Weight of 2800 lbs.......I did not get to go on any trip with the plane so I don't know how good a fuel mileage it will get with this much age on it. I think my Arrow is looking a bit better at this time. mike
  8. Rob, It has a Garmin 530 with WAAS. The cruise I gave is economy. Normal is 162 and Maximum is 169 True at 7,500. I'm going out to see how everything works and to see if I like it well enough to make the sacrifice. I love my low wing but this plane has more features. Also I will be able to fly into smaller airstrips at a slower decend speed. I'll keep you posted as to what I do. Oh yes, Climb is 115 at 25'' MP , Prop at 2500, Mixture 13 GPH, best of all I can cruise at 7 GPH leaning her back. Set back and watch for traffic although i'll be with Flight Following. mike
  9. Tom, I'll be checking out in this Cessna 177 RG this evening. Airspeed in cruise is 153 mph. mike
  10. Barry, I tried to post a photo after typing my text and clicked on green browse button but it said that my phoyo was too big. Then I found otherdog's training post but still flopped. It is a step that is simple but I have not found the cure yet. mike
  11. So thats why the chicken tastes different since the Colonial died......KFC that is for the young'uns......I believe Taco Bell is using Castor Oil in the Mexican food they are fixing......LOL mike
  12. Rob, I hope you can teach the guys that work for Lockheed Martin a few things, especially patience. Are you saying they are combining ATC with FSS down the road or sooner? mike
  13. Tom, No maybe the wrecker's boom can lift it high enough to get it off the tanker. It does look mighty close. Close enough for Government work. Humm.......just thinking if you had worked for Chrysler they would probably still be in the black. You know that Rob would not have ran out of fuel if you had designed him a Mack that just needed plugged in to house current. I just wonder how long a oiless air compressor can run daily and how much it can pull? mike
  14. Rob, Congratulations to all of you!!!......She is a beautiful woman. Best Regards to all of you in the road ahead mike
  15. I wish her a speedy recovery and yes I have her and Mr. Weatherstone in my prayers. Keep us posted to this thread. Regards mike
  16. I'm just wondering if your tick problem stems from too much moisture in the ground? We here are getting way too much rain. I'm afraid that when the rain is over, it will be so HOT that we'll jump right into summer HUMIDITY big time. By the way, that garden looks like a piece of art, saying a good job. I'd like to have one but with the garage project going on I have little time for it now. The inspector was out yesterday morning while I was at work. He called me and said a few tree roots needed to be cut out, other than that it was ready for pouring the footing. Today's project while it's raining will be to fix the bathroom tub. It's stopped up and won't drain fast. By looking at the pipes undr the tub, looks like someone put four traps in and it does not need but one good trap with a cleanout. To get to the pipes, i'll have to take down a 4x8 sheet of sheetrock from the basement ceiling to get to the pipes. Havin Too Much Fun mike
  17. My dad worked for the L& N RR back in the mid fifties as a fireman on steam engines. He never mentioned any thing like what you are showing. The way he talked he was shoveling coal all the time and didn't have time for anything else. mike
  18. Tom, We used kerosene around our cuffs when we would work in tall grasses, we did not smoke or drink but we had no ticks or chiggers on us. We also used kerosene on our hands to clean the grease off after we worked on a vehicle. If you got cut, it was more gentle on the open wound. mike
  19. Jimbo, You might try Gulfway Insurers in Bayonet Point, Florida phone # (800) 940-5010 go to their web-site www.racensur.com Best Regards mike
  20. Tom, What about some Fire Protection Insurance with that rig, since the chimney is so close to the fuel tankeerrrrr. And what about the Pit Crew that goes along with the parts truck and trailer to haul the racecar on and also a boat, ya got to have a boat to go fishing. He might fall upon hard times and need to revert to servival tactics. mike
  21. Tom, The Camper will have to have much bigger fuel tanks than it has. So show us some bigger tanks please. Do it right for our BMT Friend. He will need to get out of the driveway. mike
  22. Aj, If your lines and hoses are as good as you say they are then why not set them aside and use them later after your resto work is finished? Some people like plastic some like flex and some like copper or brass. If you are going for broke then the best is as deep as your pocketbook. Colors are a personal choice as some people like Neon Green. Those hoses ought to standup and be seen then. mi2centsworth mike
  23. Rob, That truck would look great with a big hottub on the back of it. Forget all the measuring, cutting, welding and painting. You and Momma can use it together and maybe invite all the neighbors to have a splash party. Could even make a place for a BBQ grill. See we love you and can help save you all that money your going to throw away and also keep Momma happy with you even more. She may like it soooomuch that you'll increase your buying power with her. mike
  24. Rick, That truck looks better than new. I don't think Mack put a B Model together better than you have. Keep us posted with pictures and such. Best Regards mike
