It sure sounds like a stuck valve. We used to tap the valves with a rubber mallet to free them, that is also using a penetrating oil for lubrication around the stem area. Spraying your favorite lube around it can't hurt anything. May take some time, but would try that before going into the engine. Rob has the right idea of checking the compression also to tell which one is troublesome. Keep us posted! mike

Have you started painting the inside yet, as we first talked? I'm waiting on getting a concrete footing poured before I indulge into my project. It will be in the month of June when good and hot outside. mike

Bobby, Sure looking like progress is going just fine. Keep up the good work and keep posting those pictures. Thanks mike

I gave mine her card last weekend along with her birthday card. Plus took her out to eat at her favorite place......Krystal's.......she has craved these for only a couple of month's. She never liked going to a Krystal's growing up. My brother and I were the one's that liked the Krystal's growing up, not mom or dad. They were into eating their vegetables not junk food. This afternoon I took her some money to run on next week and we also got the Lincoln out of the garage to run it out the interstate for 20 miles or so. Came back and bought our supper at a barbaque place. No garage yet because of too much rain. This morning about 4:00a.m. a flash flood covered the road near my house and could not get out. But the water went down by noon today so I could go get me some tools from Sears. After that I went to the airport to look at another plane cause I might trade for another. I would post the picture but my g/f usb port cable is larger than mine. So i'll post it tomorrow if time permits. Happy Mother's Day Momma Sparrow's and you other mother's mike

Larry, I'll go along with that. Interiors do have that pungent smell. Kinda makes my nose start to run. mike

That's right Glen you tell'um, where's Paul Revere when we need him. I guess we''ll go down with the Titanic again. Or let the next generation fight for us. Remember the movie "BraveHeart"....the Scottish and Irish were trying to gain their Independence from England.....King Edward The Long Shanks. Guys look at that movie again because it's no different. Freedom comes with a price. The Scottish King was getting what he wanted from England so he was not concerned about his own people, yet he was dying from sexual disease's, it did not matter to him. Also his son Bruce was consoling with his King father. Father was telling him it was ok for the people deserved what they got which was nothing but rape and pillaging....meaning the English were taking what they wanted. In one council meeting King Edward with his daughter-In Law listening.....King Edward said that the problem with Scottish people were, that they were Scottish and too many of them. Another cultural genecide same as our civil war. mike

I believe in bearing arms also. But seems to me everything you touch has come across the White House table and we are paying for it a second and third time to have a bit of freedom. I was a member of the American Motorcycle Association. They too want a handout to protect your right to ride on the roads that we pay taxes on already. I'm a member of AOPA, that is Airplane Owners and Pilots Association. They also are asking for big handouts to protect our right to fly. Now, i'm also a member of Sons Of Confederate Veterans here in my local area. They too are trying to stay afloat by asking for big donations to be able to keep our ancestors monuments and print books to tell the truth about a people that wanted their freedom from a central goverment. It has been an outragious life to live and die in dixie. But do you know what scares me more than anything?.........Is to know that we are going to let them take us without firing a shot. It keeps on haunting me some years ago when a black man told me what was wrong with us white people..........I quote: You white people want BOYCOTT ANYTHING unquote. We will not stick together, afraid we'll hurt someone's feelings......makes me sick......OH! some of you may remember a few years ago when the mayor of Chicago in the night had his city workers dump dirt across the runways so planes could not land or takeoff. He wanted a park for the city instead of an airport. The airport was called Meigs field. Today it is a local park. Now, what do you think? They are taking us without firing a shot. mike

Thats a knee driver. I like the foot drivers better. Better yet is one that can hold the passenger air bag in at the same time the driver air bag also. Veryyyy lateeeee.......modelllll.

Some of the steering shafts are tappered and some are splinned. Take the nut loose enough to come up almost to the top of the spline. You can use either a puller with two arms or more. Try to get your puller under your wheel, not on the plastic finish of the steering wheel and tighten the center screw down until you can put a wrench on the center of the puller. Once you turn the center shaft of the puller a couple of times you should be able to tell if the wheel is loose. Most of the time when the wheel gets loose the puller can and will fall off.........men, now I feel like an elementary school teacher......but that's ok if we have helped someone that needed us. Let us know how it went! mike

Tom, Just be careful when using the tread on the grill because the EPA may be looking from the eye in tha sky. We have those guys that are working for our Commi Gov. ready to turn their grandmaw in just for a little raise and praise........I was watching the story about Junior Johnson yesterday running moonshine for his dad. I noticed the respect he still had for him many years later after he had been caught and had jail time. Junior said if his dad could ask him today if junior would run for him junior said that he would do it for his dad.You got to hand it to some of our ancesters, they had GUTS. Sorry to get off on something else. mike -

I like to leave the tire tread in mine cause it gives ya the extra traction to git outa bed in the mornings and when walkin down the driveway to the mailbox it keeps me from wandering off into the grass. Reminds me I have to get an alignment soon and let'em check my toe-in at the eye doctor's office. I pee beer over my bran-flakes in the mornings....no need wasting good beer, it's the green kind I dislike......humm...I bet I could use alittle STUBB'S on them also. mike -

Tom, You're killin me!.....I can taste that and smell the hickory aroma all tha way down here in TN. .....I found a marinating sauce that I think is great at our Kroger Store, it's called "STUBS". It has a man with a cowboy hat on the bottle. I can put chicken in that sauce for an hour put in the frig. while getting the coals hot. If you want to try something different, try that. Everyone that has tried it is sold on that product. mike -
Tom, You're inspiring me to put out a garden. I have not done that for a long time. Don't do any canning so I put out very little. I always have tomatoes, usually squash and okra. I love a tomato sandwich or tomatoes on my hamburger. An crazy about tomatoes with fried corn, okra and pinto beans with cornbread.Got to add tha iced tea. mike

Model B Build Sheet Info Deciphering
Mike replied to Ossablt's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Since it is a 1958 I would think the rear came with spoke wheels. Mine is a 1962 with single axle and CRD 78 carrier with spoke wheels. The truck I have looks like it has had no changes since new. The spoke wheels stayed around until the late 60's...I'm almost certain about that. mike -
Who All Is Going To Huntsville?
Mike replied to randyjinla's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Paul, I'm not aquainted with the show site but i'll look you guy's up somehow. I'll find you. I'm used to finding that needle in a haystack. I have not flown there since 2003, so i'll have to get my act together. I just remember the airport with runways being 18 and 36. mike
