  1. Farmer, It's OK to be called SHORTY....... I used to be called that also until the girls got to see me up close and personal. Well it changed their minds from then on. .........no more shorty......LOL mike
  2. Yes, makes more since to me now. I can see that happening to any pump plumbed that way. mike
  3. Can I ask why anyone would use motoroil instead of lighter transmission fluid. I realize the weight is heavier with motoroil but ATF has always been a magical fluid for any temperature extreme. Looks like the motoroil would have to be changed more frequent and have more problems with heat exchange or cleanliness. Thanks mike
  4. just use the tried and true, Vaseline. Family favorite for many years all over America. Far as the static. I use Static Cling. Everywhere we go I pickup more chicks that way. Girls like the electricity. Just keep them shocked all the time. Its only married couples thats been with each other for many years that use Snuggle and Bounce and Conditioners. If ya have to use all those things then you don't have enough......well you know........Sorry Rob that ya have to go thru all that punishment. I know that you do not notice what it has done after all those years have passed. mike
  5. Rob, You know if you have to ask, then you don't know her very well. My g/f likes the fuzz in mine only because she fills that she is cleaning something in the house. They love to keep things clean.......LOL mike
  6. Rob, Some people have to use every tool they have in the toolbox. mike
  7. Tom, Ahh, looking back now.......wasn't that the time you and her was having tha time of your life. It had to be a very enjoyable moment that day with her helping you. Sorry Tom....I guess I was having one of those sentimental moments also. I guess it's because i've been couped up in the house all week off from work. I had planned to go to the Mid-American Truck Show, and attend a Irish Festival near home. None of that happened. I'll get to wait another year....again. The g/f really didn't won't to go.... so it worked out for her plans to stay in the yard. I've looked in my wish book for the most of this day wasting time. No Mack Time for several weeks. It does start very easy with no problems. mike
  8. Has he checked to see if it is pumping fuel to the carb? If so next check to see if the fuel is squirting down inside the carb. when you pull on the throutle to see if it goes down inside the manifold. You will won't the float bowl to be full of fuel to it's proper height. mike
  9. The s/p is doing fine at this time. Not going to mess with it next time it threatens. It will come off and be changed over. Then i'll decide what to do from their. My dad always said if it's not broke don't fix it. I'm going with that phylosophy also since i'm now the age when he used to tell me that. Thanks mike
  10. I'd like to help but i'm laying up this week with a bulging disc. Not having any fun. I would have to go out and look at my truck and get back with you. I saw this post but left it for anyone else ready to help. Is this a MUST at this time, or can it be put off until you get the restoration closer to finish? That would be my goal if I had this project. mike
  11. Yea, Just like me when the g/f and I are out. When we go into any store all the fire alarms go off. I'm just tooooo hot. She's ok with it....she knows that when we get home, she puts the fire out then. mike
  12. Which head were you talking about ? Their wur several. mike
  13. Which one is Rob and which one is Tom. You guys are always confussing me.....LOL mike
  14. Mr. OZ, Not trying to break-in on the conversation but, I had to let you know that I think your 611 is an absolutely beautiful piece of master work machine. Its massive, has great lines. It has to be a great joy to drive and own. I've never sat foot in any truck like your's but hopefully someday I can at least get up near one. Thanks for showing this RST 611. I'd like to see it in action if you have it on U-tube sometime. That way I can see it's sides. Keep it Safe! mike
  15. Hi Larry, I guess your getting ready to put that 428c.i. back into the wagon before the race events are here? The products you and Tom have posted are unfamiliar to me here. An expensive product that people talk about and advertised alot is LUCAS gas and oil treatment. I have not used it yet but, the people from Nixon Diesel Company have told me to add a chemical to the fuel everyother fuel stop. That suites me fine since I have not used my truck enough to do that yet. Been reading about oils for these trucks. Interesting subject from Motor Oil Science-Diesel Tech on the web-site. If using a 15w40 oil, the 15 is for ease of cold startups, and when the oil gets the temps up then the 40 weight is there for the protection. It helps to have this kind of info around when Rob is not available. Back in the late 80's I used 20w50 in several of my drivers. We had a hard winter here and went out to start my pickup and it would not turn over. My wifes 4 cylinder also would not turn over. Had to get my 65 Falcon out with 10w40 oil to get someting from the store that day. I used to not mind experimenting but as I got older I'm reluctant to do that it cost too much. The older ya get seems tha pay check gets smaller. mike
  16. This may be a long shot but, the Mid-America Truck Show is in Louisville, Ky. 3/19 thru 3/21 you may get some help there from one of the venders. Regards mike
  17. Can you find another 92 MH for the purpose of salvaging the part? That is the way I would go if I tried all the parts places. This may not be much help. Might give Littlefuse a call. mike
  18. She may take away the cherries. I believe it's time to stay in the garage overnight. mike
  19. Thats a new one on me. Lets hear more about Howes. mike
  20. Mornin Tom, I have not seen this kind of set-up. All the ones I saw had frames and regular doors, but the curtains were on the sides. I've been away from trucks since Sept. 1989 when the printing co. I worked for layed 203 of us off. I was in the warehouse division at that time. There were guys that had 32 years with that co. been their since teenagers, knew no other job and let go. I have seen only one of these guys since the permanant layoff. The boss that I worked for lived on a farm all of his life. Was bushhogging to help someone he knew. They were just starting their first pass around the edge of the field when my boss hit a log that was covered by weeds. The front of the tractor jumped up and threw him off between the bushhogg and tractor. It got him, the tractor kept on going until it crossed a major hwy. and hit a dirt bank. Vanderbilt Life Flight came and picked him up, but he died on the way. He was in his early 60's when this happened to him. Had been exposed to farming all of his life and was a very level headed person. I sometimes feel like the mouse and the hawk is always looking. mike
  21. Rob, Was that tha chin that had tha whiskers or was the other chin your talkin about with tha food on them?....Ta.. he mike
  22. Rob, That's just a normal day for me. I kinda like messing up peoples day. Sometime when otherdog and I come up their, we'll get into something illegal. I can Harley....noticed I misspelled that word on purpose? I like doing that....wait. Yea never know what costume I might be wairing either. I used to enjoy putting gravel iside of cars hubcaps. Makes all kinds of wracket. Problem is the FC Government stop putting hubcaps on them cars etc. They said it was because of enviromental reasons. Just like em to do that. Take all tha fun out of it. Got To Go Fur Now! mike
  23. Looks good bobby. What thermodyne is in the truck? I was curious because of the v8 emblem. The aluminum would look good polished out bright. mike
  24. Rob, From all indication my truck has one tank across the back between L & R frame rails. I have not found any other tank, so I assume the one tank has two sides. Is their a way to find out? Thanks mike
  25. Hi Bobby, Thanks for posting the pictures, as for the time frame, you did just fine. I cannot understand why two tanks are on your truck unless it was a dump or a mixer. Do you know? mike
