  2. Many moons ago in the Mideveil Days we use to use a dang big screwdriver prised against the bellhousing. By looking at my fathers old toolbox, from when he was a diesel mechanic, I don't see how he got by on so few of tools back in the late 40's and early 50's. mike
  3. Interesting for sure. You probably know everything there is to know about these trucks by now? I just wondered if the weather plays a major role on rust and decay in your region of the world? Keep up the good work mike
  4. Greg how expensive is your helper? And does she do any plumbing also? mike
  5. I saw that somewhere else posted several weeks ago, but don't recall where and who posted it. I can only help by referring you to pm rhasler or mackpro on the subject at hand. Hope this helps you. mike

  8. Yes, most of us with the B models, know of the warp speed of these trucks. I bought mine in late 08 and found out within 10 months, when I was south of downtown Nashville, reluctantly wanting to drive it home during rush hour traffic, on the interstate. But I was also concerned about it becoming dark outside and most businesses closing and a possible towing trip again. I should also mention that this truck has the original type brake canisters. So braking to me was questionable and too risky. But I decided that it was not going to drive itself home. So I took off making sure when needing to stop, that I would give myself several car links of space. It worked and finally decided to hop on the interstate, probably the first time it had ever driven on a smoother suface. I should also mention that my g/f was following me in her car with flashers on. The imbarrasement of being on the interstate with a truck speed of 45 mph was enough to endure, but all of a sudden I found myself among friends. Yeah, can you believe the majority of these guys were not giving me the Hawaiian Piece Sign, but were giving me the Thumbs Up. It sure helped give me a better since of pride to own such a piece of history and also to know it made the 20 mile journey without a problem is extreamly rewarding. I hope all of you guys feel the same as I do about these trucks because they paved a better future for years to come. Welcome to BMT mike
  9. My 1962 B Model was built 4-16-1962 in Plainsfield and shipped to Neely Coble Mack Dealer here in Nashville. An the buck stopped there cause the State of TN will not give info out to any buyers of a vehicle. mike
  10. Could someone use the Easy Button.......That was easy or maybe the Panic Button. Red lights flashing and black Mack smoke coming out of the computer? This would let us know that we did something wrong. Just a thought, thank you mike

It just goes to show ya, you cannot turn your back no matter where you are. I hate those kinds of cowards also. mike
  16. I would use what you have been using, the Mobil Delvac. Never have thought it was a good idea to make a change since the engine is broke-in with one kind of brand oil. mike
