  1. Thanks Rob, I have seen that seat but did not know that it would work in that truck on that original seat frame. As long as it is not outragious in cost, I can hang it. Yea Mark I can do that, if they are as nice a people as Kevin All is from Nu Yok, then I have noooo problem. Do they like new crisp bills or wrinkled ones with cut marks and stuff written on them? LOL I'll start my printing press up later and turn out some new ones tonight. mike
  2. Rob, also thanks for the help, it means alot to me. mike
  3. I only differ from you in that when I go into a store I go for good service and most of them don't have time for chat. This i'm about to say has been posted before not long ago on here. When you get your turn to tell the guy behind the counter what you need , he decides the phone is more important and I have to wait again. I have many times walked out. My time is also valuable and I don't chose to waste his time either and the guy standing behind me waiting.......I know.....WHO CARES. And it has and can happen the opposite of that, where ya call first and he puts you on hold and says hes helping someone else. I feel they should not answer a phone if they are helping a customer in the store. My Rant mike
  4. Rhasler, that is GREAT and it says it all. How TRUE. mike
  5. I'm with ya on that subject. They scare me too. I've tried to watch that show a few times thinkin to myself that, that could be my house they are coming into, tring to Jew me down on everything while the cameraman and crew is slipping things out the back door. mike
  6. Why Tom,... you knew that he would have flown over the bridge and not under it. mike
  7. I sure would like to know how to find out where on e-bay to look for this item. I need one. Makes me curious about the one that Barry sells at Watts. mike
  8. I do understand ya Mark. I have many trophies from showing my cars and bike. They were once on shelves before I moved out of the Spouse Detention Prison. They are still in the boxes and have been for 16 years now. Most likely the people that find me dead, will take this stuff and make some money off it. mike
  9. Rob you are scaring me now with all the difficulty of finding these parts. I'm more than sure i'll run into this same snag down the road. I've only touched the surface with this truck it seems. I'm still in the tare down mode, but have not touched the lower end yet. mike
  10. Hey I envy you guys soooo much. mike
  11. What about a Big Bubba Buddy brake drum cart handler. All ya gots to du is feed him and buy him some rap music. mike
  12. Sad but true. They are a laughing stock of morons at our expence. And the kids get to go to school with clowns and learn from them and be lazy. mike
  13. I've liked all that's mentioned but also " The Guns of Navarone. " I must have some German in me cause I liked their equipment. Their 88's had solid tires on spoked wheels with fenders. It was separated from that truck and could be traversed onto the ground. It was a biger and more powerful high powered rifle and could knock out anything we had until we later got the 90 mm. I just remembered a man from where I first worked in 1970. He would come into our job place and bring or pickup jobs for printing. His name was Walter and was a German Officer in WW2. He brought a photo of himself to show some of us that wanted to see it. He was in full dress uniform with boots and brimed hat. He was a very tall man with large nose like a polish man and stood straight and tall. He talked very loud with an accent and seemed a happy person. I recently read where those people finally got their country rebuilt by 1989. Too bad I cannot talk with Walter now. I'm sure we could have a very good conversation. mike
  14. LOL...Glenn that sounds like the Air Force way. mike
  15. I'll have to get back with ya on that measurement. Seems like it was about three eigths of an inch. mike
  16. Well....pumping gas was ok, looking under the hood was ok to.....if the car had a engine with chrome valve covers and came in with a lopey cam. Actually the most enjoyment about working a gas station was washing the windshield.....if their was a goodlookin gal inside the car. I would sometimes claim their was a difficult spot on the windshield that was difficult to come clean. It was a special spot about the middle of one side or the other. Dang-it I miss those special moments. mike
  17. Rob since you are on the subject......I have not taken the door hinges off mine yet, but will need to. Mine has some play also but what I need to ask is, did these doors close flush with the rest of the body and have a good fit? Seems the weatherstriping were causing my doors to look open a small amount. thanks mike
  18. How true Rob, I did forget. I'm having to go back on when I was about 9 or 10 when I noticed these station signs. My dad used Gulf in our 55 Ford for a long time and would go to the same station because of good service. Men would run out to the car and ask if different area's of the car could be looked over and checked plus a window wash, tire check and oil added. My uncle would use only AMOCO high octane in his 57 Corvette. He would come over to the house once a month it seems to have dad adjust his valves, since it was a mechanical cam car with 283 ci Fuel Injected and had the emblems on the car. I have a picture it on my dresser at home I should post if I can think of it. mike
  19. Ok then, you history buffs.....how about ESSO Gas Stations. Seems to me the name Esso comes to mind, before AMOCO name was used. We had ESSO Stations in my area in the 50's & 60's and by the early 70's the AMOCO name appeared. Your area of the globe may have had these names earlier before we got them. If I recall during my dad's WW2 era, STANDARD OIL was more used during the 30's & 40's time frame. mike

    Fwiw:

Rob, Ladies and Gentlemen, Fellow Countrymen, I'll have to admit that I have not participated in societies needs as I should have done. I have no children but if America needs more just call me , i'll try and find a solution before it is too late. Rob, Thanks for reminding me of this matter. I see the problem each and every day here also. mike
  21. Bill, Ya might want to bake your cornbread or biscits while using this method since ya have the stove on and don't forget your apron and mitten. Ahhh.....that is if your significant other is in a delightful mood. Better yet...lets just get into tha truck and head over to Robs house since he has the heat on. Saves on firing up the oven. mike

    Got Milk?

LOL, I heard that, Rob it was probably a woman that thought of it first. mike
  23. At least we are getting some rain here, but tomorrow it may be a scorcher again.

  24. Hey....at least ya got a good wrench not too far from ya. I'm talkin about Herb. Send him a pm for a cure. Regards mike
  25. Hey Mark.......maybe your dad didn't want all his places revilled. A man has to keep a low profile sometimes. I wonder if I can scan that photo and blow it up so I can frame it and put it on my garage wall? mike
