  1. Welcome to BMT. We will do what we can to help, you may have to put up with some good humored razzing. Jeez Joe, I can't believe you missed the G! The listing on the link is a very good reference. You can always contact the Mack Trucks HIstorical Museum, they are always willing to help out and have almost every answer to every question! Doug
  2. Looking for a bunk for a Superliner with dual stack cut-outs. Let me know what you have, where it is and what price. Thanks
  3. Sorry for not responding, I was on vacation in Virginia Beach. I know the story, I know the truck. I believe this is one of the Detroit powered Eucs I used to hear as a kid while trying to fall asleep at night. I am not sure where it is right now, I will have to ask the owner. At one point he gave it to my nephew and then I heard he was giving it to a museum. I crawled all over this thing many times. I'll see what I can find out. Doug
  4. Made a trip down last year to check these out. Didn't bring anything home. The salty Florida air has taken its toll. Sad.
  5. Daryl and I went with Dale from the Mack Trucks Historical Museum to gather up a Mack NM. The original plan was to blow the thing up on the shooting rage, fortunately a person there saw the importance of saving it. It has been a 2 1/2 year project to acquire this thing but it should be worth it.
  6. I looked for the Cannonball for a long time, there was never any at toy shows or flea markets, I finally gathered this on on eBay for what I considered 1/2 price. The Ralstoy G is the best one I had ever seen and I jumped on it before my buddy could. It is extremely clean. I have another ready to paint and decal to resemble my G. I shopped for the Corgi Ford H-model wrecker for years, there was one on eBay one day that I was bidding on. My wife got into the action and kept urging me to bid until I won the auction. I got it at a good price but the main thing that one did was brake the ice and I was able to track down others at a decent price.
  7. I missed a U-model, the Avon tanker is a U-model as well. It is under the blue Hot Wheels in the box. The Avon bottles usually go pretty cheap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Highway-King-Texaco-Tractor-Tanker-Truck-10-After-Shave-Talc-Decanter-Avon-/300738268310?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item460565cc96#ht_500wt_1287
  8. Really nice truck! One of my favorite non-Macks for sure and a tandem to boot!
  9. You are slacking! There are 4 U-models. The Lionel (red) a Hot Wheels (blue) and in the background (2) Hot Wheels in the box, (1) blue and (1) orange. (They are hard to see due to the glare on the plastic.) Just like hunting, be patient and the right ones will come along. Like I told you, if I see any at a decent price, you got one. Doug
  10. Here is the pic of the Cannonball and one of my North American G-model. I have these in the living room on the entertainment center. My wife hasn't told me to move them for nearly a month.
  11. I have a large collection as well. I have been collecting since I was a kid. I have attempted to pick up at least one affordable version of every Mack model replica made. I do not yet have any Smith-Millers, Swords, Smith, ASAM or Hubley. If I find one of them at a decent price I would certainly get one. I gave up hunting animals in the early '90's and turned to hunting trucks. Some of my favorites are the hard to come by models that i have acquired and the story behind the acquisition. For example, I was at a shop one day and we were talking about our hobbies, his interest was trains, I explained my interest as trucks. The next time I stopped in he directed me to a coal dust covered box on a shelf in the stairway. In the box was a Hess B-model tanker with the funnel. I left there that day with that truck... I bought them several kegs of beer over the next few months. I since have branched out into gathering other brands of truck toys, one of my most recent pieces is a Dinky McLean GMC Cannonball, I have looked high and low for one that with a decent price and finally found one. I have attached some pictures,---- now I have to go dust...
  12. It is hard to say what the appropriate donation is. We are so lucky to have the Mack Museum as a resource for our hobby. The information that they can offer could be priceless on some projects. I have a Kenworth and I inquired about the build sheet for it, I was quoted $75.00 for a copy, needless to say I passed and told them that I would just buy another Mack. While that was what I considered an extreme amount for simply the build record, the info the Mack Museum supplies is worth much more. However, the Mack Museum does what it does for us as a service to support Mack Truck owners. My personal opinion, I would consider a range between $25 and $50 depending on your ability to pay. I try to do many things to support the museum, recently I purchased some tools to support the maintenance of the trucks. I try to make donations throughout the year, I really appreciate everything they do for me and my hobby. I hope this helps, this subject is very near and dear...
  13. It would be best to sent a check or money order: The Mack Trucks Historical Museum Don Schumaker, Curator 2402 Lehigh Parkway South Allentown, PA 18103 Telephone: 610-351-8999 Fax: 610-351-8756
  14. How are you tied to the owner? Is he getting out of the truck hobby. It would be a shame, he is a really neat guy. Doug
  15. Who is Kate Upton? I guess it doesn't really matter...
  16. There were some in the flea market at Macungie, an individual had them for sale. I looked but didn't need them.
  17. I know he is busy putting things together from the ATCA National Meet and has a little league thing this weekend. Shoot an e-mail and maybe he will answer it. Sit back and relax with some VA lemonade in the meantime... Thanks, Doug
  18. There were quite a few that we not as excited over that thing. I know of a few that were not too happy with him.
  19. Will, It was gtuned photography, Garrett Goodrich, gtun3d@yahoo.com, I will PM the phone numbers. Doug
  20. I am glad you enjoyed the show JT, I only have one concern. You picked the greatest antique truck show in the world as your first example. Don't be discouraged if the others just don't meet your expectations. There is just something special about the ATCA National Meet that gets you hooked, maybe it is a combination of everything. There are many more good shows around and I will probably see you at some of them.. This Saturday is the TFC Rally at the Lebanon Fairgrounds in Lebanon, PA. Saturday morning there is an 8 mile parade route that we take the trucks out on. There is a good turnout of old and new equipment. It is worth attending and is a fundraiser for Transport for Christ, a great mission. Doug
  21. The park is a privately owned piece of property. There is very little that can be accomplished around the park. The gravel road along Walnut is about 650 feet long, I know, I measured the entire park when we changed the layout in 2005. We have hauled stone in to fill the potholes in the gravel road to the soccer field because no one else would take responsibility for it. We tried to make a better exit for trucks but it just never worked. The past few years we were able to park trailers at the Tyler Pipe lot, this year it was full of new Macks, so we couldn't use it. In the past few years that alley out to Walnut St has been blocked by the person who owns it. It falls in the gray area between the borough and the township, so nothing gets done. As far as the ATCA paying for paving, I don't think that will happen. We pay a good price to rent the park and do what we can to help them out. As far as H & K paving it for charity, I can't answer that... but it is a good suggestion.
  22. Roger Gerhart did win the silent auction with the high bid of $2200.00. The auction was to benefit the Good Shepherd Home in Allentown, PA.
  23. How did Vinny miss the pic, he was there, he does exist, I spoke with him. It was a nice gathering and it was really nice to chat for a while. Sorry I had to run but we had to narrow down the choices for Directors Choice and several other things that needed wrapped up. *-Thanks to all for attending the ATCA National Meet, we really appreciate feedback, it is how we know how we are doing. *-If you were able to attend the ATCA Family Reunion, we hope you had a great time. The Central PA Chapter would like to thank you for making our little gathering a success. We served over 375 people and still had some left overs. As I stated in my greeting, we had approximately 75 people sign up per the request in Double Clutch. We always know to anticipate extras, but we really do not want to run out of food. Next year we will probably plan on feeding 400 as it becomes more popular, it would be great to have more of an accurate count just to make us feel better. I trust all of you are ATCA Members, if not, I think it would be great if you joined! Glad you had a great time, I know I did! Doug
