  1. The original "Angry Bird". American Industrial Truck Models has stepped up once again with the generous donation of a custom built 1/25 scale Mack RS-700L replica from the movie Convoy. The highly detailed custom built model captures the excitement of the movie Mack right down to the mean duck hood ornament all wrapped up in a special display case. Tickets will be on sale at the 2012 ATCA National Meet, June 15 & 16, where the drawing will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 16th. This beautiful high quality precision replica honors the black Mack that lead the convoy of rebellious truckers in the 1978 big screen classic. The truck will be available immediately after the drawing for the winner to take home or if you are unable to stay through Saturday, this model is able to be shipped. American Industrial Truck Models continues to support the ATCA and we are grateful to have members and advertisers that are so dedicated to preserving the history of antique trucks.
  2. It is the time of year again when all the planning starts really coming together the the Antique Truck Club of America National Meet in Macungie, PA. There are many exciting things for this year. Attached to this message is the show advertisement. Make sure to share this with all of your "Truckin Nuts".
  3. They have been building 126 per day and stashing them where they can. We are not sure if the lot will be available to us this year or not. Effort is being made to make room for us. We'll see how it turns out.
  4. I want to get some. Are you coming to the ATCA National Meet at Macungie? June 15 & 16.
  5. I recently saw the angled gauges in another truck. I am not sure when they were available but I really like them. I will have to do a little research.
  6. Keep watching ebay, I have gathered up a few of the filters and batteries over the years. I have gifted the extras out to my Mack buds... Stick with it, you'll score one! The tuner and volume were at the seam vertically on the filter cylinder. They were AM only and are a pretty cool collectible. The batteries are neat too, the posts are the volume and tuner.
  7. Here is a picture of an LMU I took several years ago. Like I said, Mack used the same cab on both.
  8. There is an NO at the Mack Museum on display, it is owned by Dave Kline. The NM that the museum owns is on the list of restoration projects. There aren't many N's of that style around anymore.
  9. There is not a definite answer on the Mack in the picture as far as I can tell. It could certainly be a "C" or an "L". Mack used this type cab for both models. The front bumper being dipped for a crank may be the tell-tale that it is a C but I wouldn't count it out as being a n L. If someone can verify, I'd like to what they are using to specify the difference. I can never stop learning! Cool pic of a Cool truck...
  10. Nice Ford and Autocar. More pics of them please...
  11. I hope all goes well with your new deal. I was wondering how things have been going since I saw you on 422. Good Luck and we'll be seeing one another now that the weather is getting better.
  12. Great find!
  13. It all depends on condition. Most have deteriorated quite a bit and are beyond saving. Restoration parts for trim and body are nearly non-existent.
  14. The serial number is U615T1764. I believe it is a 1969 but it might be a 1970.
  15. I'll track some down. I am having problems with my external hard drive that stores a bunch of my pics and videos.
  16. Most of the pieces outside are gone. Some were sold, some were scrapped and some traded amongst collectors. I was glad to get in his yard with a camera when I did.
  17. It is a U-615, I can stop tomorrow & get the year.
  18. Try R.L Jackson Inc., Port Deposit, MD.
  19. I thought I did have a photo of a Quandel Concrete truck that was painted similar. I looked at their website and they were painted somewhat different. I can't think of any others done that way. The link below is of a "Spirit of '76" truck, their later trucks were painted similar to this. I think this is about as close as you can get. The long hood R on the Mack lithograph allows more room for the stripes to be wider on the hood crossing than a DM. 1975 R http://www.quandelconcrete.com/history.htm Later DM's http://www.flickr.com/photos/14279496@N03/2185758197
  20. Did I miss a pic? I didn't notice a Marmon in the whole lot.
  21. Thank you! The G is back in the sound room. You'll have to check out a work day sometime. On upcoming workdays I will be tackling an engine exchange in the D-44 airport refueler.
  22. The sound room is repopulated. The sound room was simply a room that a truck could be run on a lift to diagnose noise related issues. The dyno room was the climate controlled room where the trucks were run under extreme temperature conditions. The heating and cooling system for the dyno room is immense! The range of temperature was unbelievable...
  23. Correction: The local "Antique Truck Club of America" (ATCA) chapter has work day at the Museum. We did move most of the trucks back into the sound room. Work day was last Saturday but I couldn't be there due to my daughters basketball tournament. (Which they won in triple OT!) The floor was done this week, so we moved trucks back in today. We had a great day!
  24. I was there today rearranging the truck displays. It is a great place!
