I had trouble with the computer. I'll have to load it from work.

There is no registration fee, but there will be a donation bucket at the registration table to assist the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of ATCA in covering the costs for the event. Last year was a washout that hit our checking account pretty hard. Hopefully this year will be kinder to us.

Nearly all Mack models prior to 1979 used the long ear dog. A,B, early B,C,D,E,F, early F,H,L,M,N,R all varities,U,W,WS 1933 was the first full model year of use for the Bulldog radiator cap ornament. Included on the list of trucks would be, AB, AC and all variations of that model. Then you include the Fire Apparatus, All of the number series, then the letters and finally the two letter models. That dog really got around!

I have several images at home in my photo collection. I'll share them over the weekend. As the slides are reviewed and images discovered in the archives, I will be sure to share what is available.

I was involved in a discussion last week with a retiree from Hayward regarding the design of the RW. The design was done in Hayward by their people. I have seen photos of prototypes of the RW and have several in my collection. The early versions had a contoured cowl much like the standard R-model and the hood was contoured to fit. The outcome of our discussion was that the Brockway cowl which were being used on the 700 series influenced the cowl for the RW and ultimately the Facelift RD. Images from the 70"s and 80's were captured on slides. Those images are being reviewed and digitized for archiving when time permits. Other than the slides, there are very few photos available of models and model development through this period.

The engines did arrive at the museum. The green Hypercharge is on display with the cutaway E-9. As the displays rotate, the other engines will be on the floor.

I had a great weekend with some truckin' friends in Notre Dame du Nord. We saw some crazy stuff!

The ex-Tidewater N was sitting roadside for sale up until last year. This year it was gone. It was getting rusty and somewhat picked over when I saw it last.

They would certainly be of use to the Mack Trucks Historical Museum. They gladly accept donations, that is how they stay open.

Dutchman's is closed for many years. The bulk of Marmon stock was purchased by Chicago Marmon. The last NOS parts I bought were from them. Check out the Marmin Facebook page and look for Ray Keens, he should be able to assist.

Again, I apologize for not making it over for the photo and BS session. I got pulled in another direction to handle some concerns. Thank you for coming to the show and making this hobby just a little more fun than it already is. I will definitely make the photo at the Mack Meet in Lititz, make sure to remind me and keep tugging me toward the camera.

That is too bad you had that impression. My interaction with him was completely opposite. He has become a good friend and has quite often proven to be one of the gang.

From what I understand it suffered water damage from the storm a few years back.

That looks like a great find. It appears to be in great shape. What else is hiding out there in the northwest?

It is great to see more trucks saved, I am sure you will preserve them well.

That design was available on Western Star trucks. The International design was on the Eagle Brougham trucks in the late 70's early 80's. The international design was a full eagle painted on the side of the 4300 Eagles. The "wing" paint scheme has been replicated on several owners KW's and such over the past few years but Western Star was the origin.

In the late 1960's Mack did announce that they were entering the trailer market. It was a venture between Mack and Theurer. The Mack trailer was ultimately going to be a rebadged Theurer which was built I believe in New Jersey. Several trailers existed and were used by Mack for testing and storage. There is not much history on the project and I am not aware that any of the trailers exist.

From what I understand and what I recall seeing in CAD drawings, a CA hood or similar design was used on the space shuttle replica name the Blake.

I wondered the same thing Mike. I would think the trucks were purchased as complete trucks and repowered. It would be interesting to see who purchased the trucks initially. Initially I wondered why Mack Trucks were chosen then I figured that Mack was a company that didn't have ties to any of Caterpillars competitors in other markets. International and Ford had tractors of their own and some of the other manufactures had other connections. I would like to look into this deal more. It would be fantastic to have a serial number or two.
