  1. I forgot about the merchandise booths. I wonder if the volvo booth sold anything?
  2. We had a good trip to Power Day in Hagerstown. I will post photos sometime later. It come off quite a bit better than most of us expected. It did remind you of the Bulldog Round-Up prior to it's demise. There were about as many trucks as I figured, a good turnout. If this keeps going I can see it growing. I think they could consider bringing back the name "Bulldog-Round-Up" because the only volvos in attendance were Powertrain owned. I would also urge them to open the event to other brands. It is important to have inferior trucks to compare the Mack Trucks to.
  3. 7 up is right!
  4. I am not aware of any fiberglass alternatives for the LJ. As close as you coud get would be a Clariben tilt hood. Your best bet would be a good set of used.
  5. The friend that bought the B-model wrecker this spring lives in South Carolina and seems to be having difficulty obtaining an antique license for the truck. I would think there are some South Carolinians here that could offer some advice. Thanks, Doug
  6. Wheels in Motion... As I stated, Don is not in and will return 9-26. I don't know if anyone else at the museum can authorize any outside endeavors like this. I believe the museum is set up for tax deductible donations, we just have to arrange the donation process properly so it can be creditted accordingly. There are alot of hoops to make it through when dealing with this kind of thing. As soon as Ken hears from the seller, I would like to speak with him, I'll send you a message. Thanks, Doug
  7. Only a few days away. Who is planning on attending?
  8. Don Shumaker is not in at the museum right now. He would be the one that would have the authority to approve such an endeavor. I spoke with him early last week about the truck, prior to this discussion, he knew about it and said it would be nice to have, but the museum doesn't have a budget to purchase trucks. I can assist any endeavor but with the recent weather and other things absorbing my time, I can't head this thing up. Since this is BMT through Watts, maybe Barry can offer a suggestion. I'll contact him this morning.
  9. There is no word on this being an annual event, at this point. The info on the entire deal has been limited. Here is the deal on a show at the MCC. This has been discussed, the main problem is trying to find a weekend that doesn't have anything else scheduled. If we would have it in the spring, it would interfere with the planning for the Antique Truck Club of America National Meet at Macungie. It all comes down to a few doing alot. A fall show at the MCC would be great, but when do you have it? Fall Carlisle, Hershey, Mack Days, Tri-State and many other shows going on. At this point we are on hold and if an opportunity arises, we will jump on it. For now, support your local shows, each of you are an ambassador for the Antique Truck hobby. Act appropriately, be courteous, personable and make people want to know more about our interest. If you are not a member of the Antique Truck Club of America, please consider joining. We work hand in hand with the fine folks at Mack and look forward to keeping that relationship for many years to come. Doug
  10. Show-up, sign in, get parked, no cost, just a great time.
  11. There are several hotels close by. I don't know how cheap. I can get you the names of them Monday evening when I go to pick my daughter up from volleyball. I know the Warwick Inn is close by and so are several Bed & Breakfasts, My bride and I stayed at the Coopers Inn last year, it was great and is within a mile of the showgrounds.
  12. I'll match Robs $100.00! It will only take the active members of BMT to make this happen.
  13. I think I will bring both of my Superliners this year. It has been a while since both of them have been there. I will probably bring the D-model as well.
  14. The Cruiseliner Turbine serial number is WS760LST50540. I stopped in yesterday and was able to get it. Doug
  15. Yep, my G-model is still in. I constantly inquire if they are ready to get rid of it. I do not want to wear out my welcome! There is supposed to be more floor space available in the future, there are trucks lined up to come in but until the space is ready everything is on hold.
  16. It was an option in a sleeper cab and standard in the day-cab models which shared the rear panel.
  17. I added the flyer for the Power Day to the original post. it contains a little more information.
  18. Where is the Bucyrus going?
  19. I'll check on the Cruiseliner Turbine VIN the next time I stop by, it should be this week.
  20. Have you contacted the Mack Trucks Historical Museum? It takes a request from the fine folks there and they will get you the build record for your truck and you may be able to obtain information for the parts you need to fabricate. Please keep in mind that this is a fantastic resource that we as Mack Truck fans have nearly exclusively. The information that Mack Trucks has available for us is as far as I know, unmatched by any other manufacturer. The Mack Trucks Historical Museum gladly accepts donations for any and all materials researched and supplied. The Antique Truck Club of America works very closely with the Mack Trucks Historical Museum to keep costs down. We assist with maintaining trucks, working around the museum, supplying displays and whatever else is needed. Check out the Antique Truck Club of America as well!
