  1. The field is all laid out, I am tired and the "greatest antique truck show on earth" hasn't even started. Show trucks started arriving today (Wednesday), they will have to wait until Thursday to get positioned. Truck Flea-market vendors are already filling their spots with some neat stuff. I tried to buy a childs ride-on airplane (I know it was an airplane, but it was really old and really neat!) but the fellow sold it to his helper when unloading. The ATCA Family Reunion looks to be shaping up, high quality hot-dogs & burgers, 80# of shrimp and 4800 clams should hit the spot! Weather looks promising, Fox News is coming Friday for some live remotes (keep your eye on the TV in the 10:00am hour), lets hope for a slow news day so we get alot of coverage. Laura Ingle wants to drive a truck, I just checked her out on the net and I don't think she will have a problem getting hooked up! If you can't make it to Macungie, I won't miss you until next week. Doug
  2. I have been in yards that have firetrucks. If you are looking for a certain model of truck or vintage that would help. There is a man in northern PA that deals specifically with CF's. That is if you are looking for Mack stuff.
  3. I really was hoping for a cabover. Back in the day, a model number ending in U was a cabover, wishful thinking I guess!
  4. Maybe, I said I have never made it because lf everything going on. Maybe this year I can.
  5. Every year BMT members meet at the registration booth to get a group photo. I never seem to make it because of duties. I would think that they will do it again this year. It is truly a fantastic show, check out photos from years past. Even the rain in '09 didn't stop us from having a great tiime!
  6. I have to remain politically correct in these situations. Set and hook! Thanks for biting on and running!
  7. As most of you know, the "Greatest Antique Truck Show in the World" is right around the corner. June 17 & 18 in Macungie Memorial Park in Macungie, PA. This year the feature trucks start with the letter N, O & P. We hope to have a large turnout of Nash, Oshkosh, Oldsmobile, Pacific, Paymaster and Peterbilt trucks. There will be transportation provided by Mack Trucks between the park, the Macungie Assembly Facility and the "New" Mack Customer Center which houses the Mack Trucks Historical Museum. If you are a truck enthusiast, this is a "DO NOT MISS" event. Check out the poster and for more info visit the website: www.antiquetruckclubofamerica.org SEE YOU THERE! POSTERgray11.doc
  8. If you would be interested. We may be able to find a spot for you to park the 75A while you went further north. Let me know if this would interest you. Doug

  10. At this point you are the only one that can't make it. We will be thinking of you...
  11. The part you are speaking of is an air diverter to direct air along the roof and past the roof vent. The diverter assures that air will be directed into the vent when the vent is opened forward or past the vent to draw air from the cab when opened rearward.
  12. Interesting question... At this point Mack Trucks are assembled by a bunch of eastern Pennsylvanians at the Macungie Assembly Facility in Macungie, PA. This is where the final Mack product is driven off the line. Mack Trucks are assembled of parts that are made all over the world. So to say Mack makes the truck is not entirely correct. Volvo now owns Mack Trucks and has for several years. They have adjusted the assembly lines to separate the brands, Macks are now only assembled at Macungie. If you are interested in touring the plant at Macungie and visiting the Mack Customer Center, there will be transportation from the ATCA National Meet at Macungie, June 18th to each of the Mack Facilities. Hope to see you at the show.
  13. The remaining Superliner was repowered with a standard engine and sold when testing was done.
  14. Could also be the cab marker lights.
  15. Good Question! I went to the site and checked it out. If you click on the blue "Macungie Registration" link in the center of the main screen, it will take you to the 2011 form. Do not select the one in the pulldown menu. I will let our web guy know. Thanks, Doug
  16. The photo of the Pete is an old picture. That piece belongs to Randy Brown. It has gone through a tremendous transformation since those photos were taken. It has even changed quite a bit since then. This photo is from the article I did on the truck for ATCA's Double Clutch in 2008.
  17. It all makes sense now! I now know who got Dennis' B-67! Great to meet you. Doug
  18. I heard through the grapevine you were jumping back in. Hope all goes well! Doug
  19. Thank you, How about the MH V-8? Doug
  20. Did anyone go to this auction? I'd like to know what prices things brought.
  21. Photos always help! I may know a person interested. If you can get some pics to me I can get them to him. Thanks, Doug
  22. No, the public does not have access to the records. The records are pretty much only accessible only by staff. I help out the Mack Museum every chance I can and assist with the records from time to time. Doug
  23. I checked with Don at the Museum, there is not a file specifically on dealers but there is a file that pertains to Mack Factory Branches. I will look through it when I get a chance. If there is a specific branch or area that is of a particular interest, please let me know. Doug
  24. Thank you all for the well wishes. Doug
  25. The RD facelift hood was introduced in '91 as a '92 from what I recall. The cowl is different between the old R and the facelift hood. The original R hood contour matched the cowl. The facelift had a cowl much like the Superliner.
