Vintage COE MACKS
Doug Maney replied to 41chevy's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Charles Tilt created the tilt cab for Diamond-T as Joe stated. The steering column in the D-model telescopes, the shshifter, e-brake and engine controls stay on the engine. -

It is the Verti-Lift cab system on the D. The cab raises straight up like a forklift mast. -

Different Superliner hood
Doug Maney replied to Vladislav's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
From what I understand, all Down Under Mack trucks are assembled using the tried and true R-model frame as the foundation. The photo of the Superliner showing the hood open does resemble the same frame that the Valueliner of Dan Thomas has. The hoods on the Superliners down there are different from the ones here in the north. The cabs sit higher so the top of the hood must be taller and I believe have a little slope to the top. I'd have to study some more to give the specifics. I hope this helps. Doug -
The official name of the Macungie show is: The Antique Truck Club of America National Meet. Look for more information around the end of the year. The registration form is included in "Double Clutch" magazine. If you look for info on the Macungie truck show, you may not find what you are looking for. The only thing Macungie has to do with the ATCA show is the location. The Macingie Park does hold car shows and many think they hold the truck show as well. The ATCA National Meet has been referred to as the "greatest antique truck show on earth" for many reasons, I hope you can get there sometime. If you make one, you won't miss many more.

The official start time would be 8:00am. The show is a laid-back event, if the morning dew is too heavy, the registration table may be open a little later. There is no charge for the show. There will be donations collected to assist in covering the costs for the essential items such as porta-johns. The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Antique Truck Club of America has taken the drivers seat for this fantastic event and we will need to recoup our expenses. If you have never attended this show, you should. Not only are there beautiful Mack Trucks to enjoy, there is a vintage truck garden, an historic construction equipment retirement home and up on the hill is the historic construction equipment exercise area. We hope to see you there.

I dropped off the sound system this evening and discussed the menu for The Friday evening Mack Brothers Clambake Re-enactment. We were discussing what the decoration should be on the cupcake cake this year. What do you people think?

Trucktoberfest 2015 Friday evening gathering
Doug Maney replied to Doug Maney's topic in Truck Shows and Events
Since there seems to be an overwhelming lean toward the TK. I called and arranged for 7:00pm at the TK just south of I-78 on Lehigh St. -
The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Antique Truck Club of America invites you to Mack Day at Gerhart Equipment in Lititz, PA on October 2 & 3. For those of you who have previously attended, you know the drill. The show is tailored for Mack Trucks but other brands are welcome. We typically like to park the off-brand trucks together off to the side somewhere because the Mack Trucks are the headliner! For those of you who have yet to attend, start planning now! There is much to see at the show, trucks, equipment, vendors, food and people with similar interests as you. Take the opportunity to get out, make some new friends and have a wonderful day in Pennsylvania. I have attached a show flier for you to print and share. Mack Day 15.pdf

If you are attending the Trucktoberfest event this Saturday and will be in town on Friday evening, we are planning another gathering. If you are interested in joining a group of us for dinner and a few laughs, simply reply to the post with how many are in your party. We are looking at the Tilted Kilt but we are flexible for those with sensitive eyes. Doug
