  2. There is a factory day cab near me. I have looked at it several times at a local garage and have seen it on the road. Just recently I located a Freedom MH with an E9. It is rough and the owner is a little out of touch on value. There were 200 of each built, I have a different ad on them, If I can find it I'll post it. Doug
  3. It is with sadness that I post this message. Snowy was a wealth of knowledge and offered his support whenever called upon. The ATCA and our members can be grateful for his contributions to Double Clutch where he shared a small portion of dwindling Mack history with us. A conversation with Snowy was filled with undocumented Mack historical facts that simply were a result of experience and a devotion to his work. The Antique Truck Club of America and Mack Truck enthusiasts worldwide mourn the passing of Snowy. Snowman W. Snowy Doe, 84, of Macungie, died April 30, 2008 in Lehigh Center. He was the husband of Edna M. (Schroder) Doe. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June 2007. Born in Worcester, Mass., he was the son of the late Arthur W. and Gladys A. (Sprague) Doe. He worked for Mack Trucks for 37 years, retiring in September 1984 as Head of International Service Engineering. Upon retirement, he served as the curator of the Mack Truck Museum. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Emmaus. He was a 50-year member of Jerusalem Lodge 26 F.&A.M., Plainfield, N.J. where he served as Past Master, and was a member of the Rajah Shrine and the Allentown Consistory. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and was an active Boy Scouts leader. He honorably served his country with the 245th Combat Engineers in the European Theater with the 3rd Army. Survivors: Wife; son, Dr. Lawrence W. Doe and wife Patricia L. of Annapolis, Md.; daughters, Deborah E. Doe of Bristol, N.H. and Sally B. Urban of Emmaus; Sister, Barbara G. Poole of Macungie; Grandchildren, Lawrence W. Doe, Jr. of Crownsville, Md., Christopher T. Doe and wife Jennifer of Abingdon, Md., and Andrea E. Urban of Birdsboro. Services: Funeral Services 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4, in Faith Presbyterian Church, North 2nd and Cherokee Streets, Emmaus. Viewing Sunday 1- 2:30 p.m. in the church. Entombment Monday, May 5, at 1:00 PM in Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Schantz Funeral Home Inc., Emmaus is in charge of arrangements.   4. Just a reminder, there are deadlines for the preregister only areas at the ATCA National Meet. If you are planning on attending, check the show info on preregistration for camping, Truck Corral or Flea-Market. There is a sign up sheet for the Friday night ATCA Family Reunion, last year was a blast, we want to see you there this year! Doug
  5. We were just outside of Indianapolis. I found a man that has some old stuff that he needs to get rid of, we brought 1 load back and are finalizing plans for a return trip for some more. No F-models though. Doug
  6. I was out in Indiana this past weekend to gather up a bunch of Mack stuff, I was hoping there was a decent F, there was not. We did however bring back one load and are gaong back this weekend with two trailers for stuff. As always I will keep an eye out for good Macks. Doug
  7. I Know of one available, it is on a dump with a cab protector. The rear panel is very nice, I will have to call to get a price. Doug

  9. Back in the good old days, Mack only used letters to identify their models. A CH612 is a CH model, single axle. Check out some of the books on Macks, like Mack, Driven for a Century. Doug

  11. Welcome, Most of us are into the same things, that is why we have gathered here. Macks typically tie into equipment of some kind. Depending on where you are located there are some great shows that feature all of your interests, check out www.nationalpike.com. This years HCEA Convention will be held there. There is an all-Mack Show in Lititz, PA in October and the ATCA National Meet in Macungie, PA in June that always has a bunch of B-models on display. The best place to locate a truck is at a show, lots of connections and at the National Meet a truck corral with trucks for sale. Doug

I suggest you check with The Mack Trucks Historical Museum, you supply the serial number and they will send you a packet of information including the build sheet (if available) and can probably answer any other questions. They do all of this for Mack and Brockway enthusiasts. It is suggested that a donation is given for the packet. This is an extremely valuable resource we have for our Bulldogs and Huskies, I would hate to see it go away, besides being former Mack employees that are a wealth of knowledge and are just plain great people!   13. Saturday January 12, 2008, I-78, milemarker 20 I thought I saw a long nose Mack on a lowboy trailer headed west. It was burgundy with masking tape on it, it looked as if it was going to be striped. It may have been done for camo. It caught me off guard, I initially thought it was a 9900 International but then my brain caught up with my eyes and I thought I saw a Mack cab. It looked interesting, not completely as it had been explained. It appeared long, low and sleek, a little more street friendly that how it was described to me before. I heard big, rugged and almost RD-800 ruggedish, I guess not. Doug
  14. Oddly enough there have been a few twin turbo V-8's surfacing lately. I can't verify that there will be one at a show, but I would think if one does come out, it will be at The ATCA Mational Meet or the All-Mack Meet. A friend in Virginia recently acquired an F-model with one in it. There was an R700 on eBay over the past few weeks with one in it. That listing had several good photos of the engine. Doug
  15. I just rec'd the poster advertising the, All - Mack Meet at Gerhart Equipment, October 3 & 4, 2008. Roger Gerhart hosts the show every year at his facility in Lititz, PA. It is a do-not-miss if you are a true fan. Last year our friends from the Netherlands came back over just to come to this show. The other show that is heavily populated with Trucks is the Antique Truck Club of America National Meet. This year it is June 13 & 14 at Macungie Park in Macungie, PA. This is what most say is the best antique truck show in the world. The 2007 show had nearly 600 trucks, 300 flea-market spaces and a Friday night family reunion / picnic that was fan-truckin'-tastic. Due to the fact that this National Meet is held in Trucks backyard, the bulk of the trucks are . Without every attending the ATCA Meet there is no way you can truly call yourself an antique truck enthusiast! There are photos from the ATCA National Meets here on this site as well as the ATCA site. Check them out, this one is a BLAST!!   18. Justin, The truck that I know if is mainly complete in a yard. I will get photos of it this week. It appears as if your best source of parts is going to be a parts truck. A parts truck is always good to have around when dealing with something with age and wear. I have two parts trucks for my G. During restoration I could use the best of what was available for my truck. I also suggest you spend a day reviewing your truck so you know most of the parts you need. Make a list, then when you do find a donor truck you can make sure it has the parts that you so desperately need. This will make things alot smoother and ultimately reduce costs for you. I've seen the Cruiseliner you bought advertised for quite a while. Did you get the trailer as well? Good Luck and when I get by the yard I will forward the photos. Doug
  19. I know where there is one in a salvage yard, it had good windshields, rubber and the grilledensor. I can check to see if it is still in existence or if it found the torch! Do you only need the grilledensor or do you need other grille parts? Doug
