  1. That is a great view over the hood. It really makes me want to give it a try... Thanks for the "inside" info!
  2. Welcome, you should fit in pretty well with those interests.
  3. Who is interested in bring a truck or trucks to Maple Grove Raceway, Mohnton, PA on July 26 & 27? Last year was the first year and they had over 350 trucks. It would be great this year to have more antiques. I am putting together the antique Mack Truck display, If you are interested in displaying your Mack in the non-judged area, let me know. I have some committed already and will do what I can to fit you in. Trucks must be at the Show by 8:30am Saturday for positioning. Doug
  4. Thanks again for the kind words bout Erica. She really enjoyed "Extra Small". One day you and Small, Medium Large Extra Large and Star will be on goalie duty like Vickey and I are now.
  5. I found the western F wrecker for him. It was built for a logging company out of Washington state. It apparently serviced their fleet. It is factory wheelbase and must have had the wrecker body installed when new or unused. It is a 72" cab with minimal rust for an F. The ATCA National Meet was it's first show. Doug
  6. BMT'ers, We are all set for Thursday at 7:00pm at the Tilted Kilt. I pushed it back a little bit due to getting everything set up for the ATCA Family Reunion. If you can offer a little bit of time Thursday evening, make your way to the camping area and speak up. We would like to get things arranged Thursday so we aren't rushing around Friday afternoon before the crowd starts assembling. The side room at the Kilt is reserved under my name and number. See you there! Doug
  7. That will be great, finally get to meet you! Doug
  8. Who all would be interested in a gathering at the Tilted Kilt on Thursday evening. I can call to arrange a place for us to gather if I have an idea of who would be interested. Speak up! Doug
  9. The Mack Trucks Historical Museum is a great benefit to us as Mack enthusiasts. No other manufacturer has information available to their customers as Mack Trucks. There is no specific person that is the contact at the Museum. There is simply a group of knowledgeable Mack Veteran employees there to research and supply us information when we request it. Donations are suggested and put directly back into the Museum. When you receive the information you requested, you will be an even bigger Mack fan. Doug The Mack Trucks Historical Museum is the repository of historical documents and artifacts from Mack's long and storied history as the leading American truck manufacturer and world-renowned brand name. The collection and curators at the Mack Museum connect Mack enthusiasts and casual visitors alike to the rich legacy of "The Greatest Name in Trucks." Among the antique vehicles in the Museum's collection is one of the original sightseeing buses built by Jack and Augustus Mack in the first decade of the twentieth century. The gas-operated, open-air bus carried up to 26 tourists at a time around the streets and sights of Chicago in the summer and New Orleans in the winter for 25 years and more than a million miles of service, before returning to Mack as the anchor of its antique truck collection. Also in the collection is a 1911 Mack Jr. that shared the streets with horse-drawn wagons as it made it's rounds delivering dry goods and produce. It's the final truck design attributed to the Mack brothers before they sold their company to investors in 1911. Then there's the 1918 AC model, one of 4,100 built for World War I. Although there's no bulldog on the hood of this early Mack truck, it was the AC that earned the name while it was busy dodging bullets and trudging through the mud in France. The truck's unique blunt-nosed design reminded British troops of their own bulldogs. So did it's tenacious ability to get through anything with the supplies needed at the front. The AC and the Mack Jr. are two of the Mack Museum treasures currently on loan to the America on Wheels Transportation Museum in Allentown, PA. For many visitors, the museum's real treasures aren't made of steel at all, but of paper and celluloid. There are more than 80,000 photos in the collection, many dating back to 1905. And there are records -- documentation of virtually all the trucks made by Mack since its early days. If you were to come across an old AB truck under a tarp in a barn, there was a record made when it was built. The company's been doing it for every chassis manufactured since 1905, and except for a few rare cases, all those records are filed here. When requesting information about a particular truck from the Mack Museum, please provide the complete chassis number and your postal address so that we can get your information to you as quickly as possible. 10. The cowl mating surface is different. The old R follows the hood contour. The facelift RD has a straight side cowl like a Superliner.
  11. When are you coming back Mackdaddy? 2015?
  12. Nice truck! I would suggest you contact the Mack Museum with your serial number and they can supply you with the build information on the truck. They are fantastic and they do it simply for a donation. Mack Trucks Historical Museum 2402 Lehigh Parkway South Allentown, PA 18103 Telephone: +1 610 351-8413 Fax: +1 610 351-8756
  13. There is someone in the front seat? I'm focused on the rear seat!
  14. All the info you need to know is on the Antique Truck Club of America website. www.antiquetruckclubofamerica.org The link for the ATCA National Meet registration form: http://www.antiquetruckclub.org/forms/macungie_2014.pdf
  15. The plant tour is only on Saturday. The museum is open Friday and Saturday. The bus to the plant and museum only run on Saturday. I suggest you get to the area on Thursday, for the museums in the area. Mack, Boyertown and America on Wheels (if time permits) are well worth the time, just not time away from the show.
  16. Yes, that was Bobs. It is still around somewhere.
  17. The only thing that the Mack N and the Ford C shared was the cab shell. The dash was different and all of the drivetrain was different. The Mack had all Mack drivetrains, gas through turbo diesel. The N was replaced by the MB. Several years ago I was told that the Tidewater N was sitting outside rusting. I think it has since been purchased and hopefully is being taken care of. I purchased the last of the G-model parts from Bob after the plug was pulled.
  18. Could be a Mack, it has Mack hubs. It would not have been built by Mack that way. It looks as if it may have started as an N-model. There was an N-model jockey at Gerhart's that was custom built. It looked similar, I don't think it is there anymore.I'll have to see off I took a photo of it.
  19. The ATCA National Meet is June 13 & 14, in 2014. It is always the Friday and Saturday before Fathers day. For more information, please go to, www.antiquetruckclubofamerica.org. If you are not a member, I urge you to join! See you at the "greatest antique truck show on earth!"
  20. Wait until Harvey hears this! He'll get a kick out of it.
  21. Is it a Superliner or Ultraliner?
  22. Caught me! In Denmark I am a rowdy biker with money to burn. Just don't show my wife, when I am in Denmark for the bike events she thinks I am at Macungie and other truck shows.
  23. The F you are working with is a sleeper. The CF was based on a daycab. If you are looking for the front portion of the roof you could section the CF in to make it work but the rear portion is different.
  24. Was he a Mack fan?
