  3. She's a beauty! Is it still in service?
  4. I don't know if these will help, but they are out there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...9674&rd=1,1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1976-MACK-C...1QQcmdZViewItem Some fire department's will go the extra mile if they find it is to help a department in need. Good Luck.
  5. Awesome pics. Thanks for post'n em.
  6. Seagrave in Clintonville.
  7. I was out at the Seagrave plant in Wisconsin two weeks ago. They make a pretty impresive rig. They're really made solid. but I don't know if they can hold up like the track record of the CF. FDNY's trucks took such a pounding on the city streets and many of them still live on in volunteer fire houses across the country. I guess only time will tell!
  8. I was always told that Mack got out of the fire truck business because it wasn't "cost effective" and that it was about the same time Renault entered the picture. If anyone could clarify for me.
  9. I hope Santa's signed up on the forum!!!!!!
  10. I don't know if this helps, but they show up for sale every so often. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...2474&rd=1,1 Mack made the best fire truck ever and the CF was the cream of the crop. They should have never stopped making them. At minimum they should have continued making cab and chasis for fire apparatus.
  11. On a recent trip to a fire apparatus plant in Wisconsin; I found old iron getting a new lease on life. This CF-600 Mack Baker Aerialscope was under reconstruction. They had removed the boom and bucket for a complete rehab of the aerial. Some fire departments are finding it more cost effective to rehab trucks that were built so well in the first place. The only problem was the bulldog was missing from below the windshield.
  12. Hi John, Welcome to the forum. I've only been around a little while and I've come away with two B-models and a whole boat-load of knowledge from the great people on the site. Please share any apparatus photos and stories. Hope to here from you. Thanks, Pete
  13. Great photos. Keep 'em comming! I work for a fire dept. We've been working on a new engine. I've had opportunities to look at and test many new trucks. They just don't make 'em like they used to. LOL.
  14. That's one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
  15. My name is Pete. I am a CT firefighter who broke into the fire service about 15 years ago on a CF Fire Engine/Tanker and a R-Model Hose Tender. I fell for the old bulldog from then on. I have since worked for Fire Depts. with a C-model Rescue, another R-Model Tanker and my current Dept owned two Bulldogs back in the 20's and 30's. One was an engine and the other was a tillered ladder truck. I don't own a truck yet, but I hope to get a B-Model for restoration soon. I also have a large diecast collection. I think it's great to find so many people on this sight that appreciate these good old American work horses.
  16. Some real beauties on that group. Nice to see that many in good shape and in one place!
