  1. So what your saying is.......... you know where he lives!
  2. Nice buy Paul. How much was the "finders fee"? You really bought an engine at a fair price and got the rest of the truck free, so you can afford whatever fee is imposed.
  3. I''ll bet his seatbelt got a good test. Interesting how the aluminum trailer did so much damage to the steel truss. If the maxi brakes on the trailer hadn't done their job, it would have come back down by it self.
  4. Trent, Has anyone ever hooked a 6x6 up to one of those sleds?
  5. The U.S. Congress sets a federal budget every year in the trillions of dollars. Few people know how much money that is so we created a breakdown of federal spending in simple terms. Let’s put the 2011 federal budget into perspective: U.S. income: $2,170,000,000,000 Federal budget: $3,820,000,000,000 New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000 National debt: $14,271,000,000,000 Recent budget cut: $ 38,500,000,000 (about 1 percent of the budget) It helps to think about these numbers in terms that we can relate to. Therefore, let’s remove eight zeros from these numbers and pretend this is the household budget for the fictitious Jones family: Total annual income for the Jones family: $21,700 Amount of money the Jones family spent: $38,200 Amount of new debt added to the credit card: $16,500 Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710 Amount cut from the budget: $385
  6. You probably have 38k rear axles. The axle flange with the eight bolts is about 6 1/2" dia.? The springs could be either 34k or 38k. How many leafs? How wide? How thick? Look for numbers on the front of the steering axle, right side.
  7. Thad, I wondered if you ever got that thing home. I run real close to there on my way to Litiz. Depending on what I'm driving I may be able to get it there if someone else could get it to NY from the show.

    Cf Gvwr?

The CDL requirment isn't for what it weighs, it's for what it's gross weigh is rated. That's the "R" in GVWR
  9. Here ya go.................... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VOLVO-MACK-BOAT-FLYWHEEL-TURNING-GEAR-TOOL-/380359129087?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item588f2bb7ff
  10. Here's one for ya........... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/10-speed-transmission-Eaton-ROADRANG-MACK-truck-/150639154776?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2312cb1658
  11. You really don't want a triplex behind a maxidyne 300. That engine produces too much torque. That's probably what happened to your last two transmissions. The Mack 5 sp direct, 6 sp 2 stick, or a T200 series 5, 6, 7 or 8 sp (.6:1 overdrive), 9sp (.71:1) or 10 sp (.78:1) are really what you need. Rear ratio and tire size would help determind what over drive is best. You could also use a roadranger but you will need a Mack belhousing. If you use the auto see if it is a direct or overdrive. You will need to drill a hole on the clutch housing to get to the torque converter bolts. And also install a trans cooler.
  12. Click on the "view new content" at the right end of the top banner. If you click on the "dot" at the thread name it will take you to the first unread post. For laughs click on "members" on the list on the left and see who joined today. This may be part of the problem.
  13. Berry does this just to keep you guys guessing. I don't know how I did it but when I click on a thread I go to the first unread post. Unread threads are also a darker print.
  14. The CH replaced the R. The CL replaced the Superliner and was built on the Superliner frame. That is why you could get the E9 and vendor engines in the CL. You could also get the CL with a 3/8" frame and a sleeper. You don't see many of them around.
  15. Ernie, Noticed you posted last nite. Just wondered how your doing?
  16. Morgan, this may help............ There may be one more number. Usually 5 digets. Looks like a 10 speed direct?
  17. Here's the truck........... http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/2522592289.html Got to be $1800 in parts.
  18. Here's your change! http://www.patriotactionnetwork.com/profiles/blogs/heres-your-change
  19. I rode a Brockway bus to school, but it wasn't the "short" one.
  20. Hey Tom, Nice to finally met you. The green U model is Jay's. The two macks on the trailer used to be parked on Rt 64 at a storage place between Raleigh and Pittsboro. They were there for 4 to 5 years then disapeared about 2 years ago.
  21. Dunmore is the east side of Scranton. Right where 81 and 84 meet. Its where 81 north had the bridge column at the end of the ramp. I'll look for the KW dealership next time I'm through there. As many times that I've driven that road I'm suprised I never noticed it.
  22. It may have been "ole #38". I can remember that bus like it was yesterday. Where on 81 was that dealer?
  23. Because they usually have the drivers bare feet hanging out down to the ground? We just never see a picture of one with a driver.
  24. Nice picture Mark. Growing up only 30 miles from Cortland, the first school bus I rode in was a Brockway.
