This Mack was done in the colors of L&J Equipment from Uniontown, PA. Back when coal stripping was booming in the 70's, L&J had two DM800 tractor's that pulled both dump trailers and lowboys when needed, along with a large fleet of DM800 and DM600 dump trucks. One of the tractors, #10, is still around, while the second #20 has since also be converted to a tandem dump truck. My father worked for the company, which was part owned by an uncle of his, until 1989; so we thought it would be fun to do the old DM like the trucks he drove. I do not have any photos of the old tractors, but I did also throw in a few of one of the old DM600's, #14...so you have an idea! Ya gotta love the old days...Thanks for checking it out! :mack1:

looking good. dident you make a great looking green/white RD mack a few months ago?

I havent seen many DM800s like that from my aera. lots of U models and DM600. I just won a R model kit on ebay yesterday and bought a RS700L resin hood. I plan to recreate my RS mack after I finish the Astrailian V8 Valuliner conversion kit that im working on.

What kind of paint do you use? I started to use the model masters water base paint a few years back and love how easy it is to airbrush not to mention fix my mistakes :pat:
