We have a 1999 Mack Ch613 equiped with E7@427HP. The truck devloped a slight knocking sound so we decided to take look at the valves and found they were all out of adjustment. We ajusted the valves and they went back out of adjustment as soon as it turned over. The guy at the engine shop that used to work for a Mack dealer tore it down for us and found it was a bad camshaft. We had a full inframe rebuild done and a new cam put in and truck seems to run fine, but now even pulling a light load I can barelly get it over 65MPH and when it knocked it would pull the same load at 75mph.
