Hi...I've got a 2005 Granite with the mack 10 speed that has started to grind when making the range shift into 5th. It does seem to do this only when the transmission is cold, once it warms up it shifts fine. We bought this truck with approximately 130,000 miles, it now has 160,000 and about a year later the trans started to leak around the top cover. Last winter we pulled both top covers and replaced the gaskets and torqued all the bolts. This summer the front top cover began to leak again and due to time constraints we have just been checking the oil level once a week until we get time this winter, not the thing to do but it's alot of work. Anyway, tonight I checked the level through the large plug on the side and it's usually a little low but this time I had oil running out and didn't have to add anything. Any ideas?
