Greetings. I am new to the list and have recently purchased a 1958 B75F with an enf464 engine. It has a cracked exhaust manifold. Any suggestions on who can repair in the St. Louis area? Is is possible to obtain a replacement? Is repair necessary to avoid burning an exhaust valve (it is not noisy, I simply noticed it looking under the hood)? Thanks in advance.

I've repaired several broken exhaust manifolds myself using Lincoln 55% nickel rod and my tig welder. Never have had one break as of yet. Not that difficult to do but the item must be clean, and deep "V" grooved in the weld zone for thorough penetration. Of course the finished product is shiney but can be painted with high heat paint if covering it is important.

Welcome to BMT, I also work on our 1954 B75F and we had a cracked exhuast manifold, and cracked head at the water manifold. I was able to find another 464 manifold and used the last section (to the header pipe) to repair mine, I still have the other 2 parts (mid section and front section) which part of your manifold is cracked?

Also check to airbox on the intake as they crack also.

How did your boys enjoy their christmas fire truck ride?

Looked at it again this morning. It is the mid section that is cracked.

Would love to purchase your mid section, or would appreciate direction to any other source (and where to find gaskets, torque settings, etc). I appreciate your reply. The truck is in pretty good shape and runs well; however, I have a lot to learn...

Where is the airbox to intake? I am not familiar with that?

Were 464s used in trucks other than the B-75s?

Thanks,

stlmack
