Depends on the condition. If it runs, drives and has no drive line problems then it could be worth up to $10,000. There is one or two that were used for heavy haul on truckpaper.com and they want some crazy number, something like $35,000 each. I don't know how good the LeRoi engine is but they more commonly built with Cummins non turbo 903 V8's. Transmission is a Mack gearbox with integrated transfer case and the rears are 65,000 pound Mack axles with a 9.02:1 ratio. The front might be rated at 18,000 lbs, not sure but it uses a helix gear set instead of a double cardan joint for the axle shaft.

Not a fast truck but a very powerful one, made to haul tanks off road so it has to be tougher than nails. Shame Oshkosh took over making Military trucks, Mack could have easily have filled that need.

903 V8's Incorrect, its a V-300 300hp@3,000rpm the V-903 was 300hp@2100rpm., the V-300 is 785CID the V-903 is 902.8CID :thumb:

Correction: the diesel's got 10.11:1 gears not 9.02's :thumb:

The 18K steer axles part number matches that of a 65K-lb Mack driving steer axle.

The 65K-lb Rear axle part numbers match that of the 120-150K-LB Mack rears.

IE: Madison Mack Sales inc.

Not busting your chop's no malice intended, the M123 & M125 same plate form but the M125 is actually a cargo truck the M123 was the tractor . . .

I was going to repower the M125 with a V-300 Cummins diesel has the 3,000rpm diesel will speed up the truck over the 2,600rpm Gasser . . .

giving me a plenty powerful 45mph cruising speed and a 52mph get out dodge speed . . .

M123/M125 cruising speed is 35-40mph M123 max speed is 44mph and M125 max speed is 42mph.

Sadly i know all the Tech data on them, But i haven't a clue on the value of them :pat:

$10,000-$35,000 your saying ?

No offence taken, everyone is allowed to make mistakes. I have seen 10 tons built with a 903, in fact there is a website with a 903 and transmission/transfercase for sale that is for a 10 ton. http://www.easternsu...et/spares1.html . Maybe I am getting my 10 ton models confused.

As for price I am just quoting what I have seen various 10 tons go for on military truck dealers, ebay and truck paper. I used to have a bunch of links saved up for such dealer sites but I lost most of them. There was a real nice one on eBay not too long ago with a set of gin poles installed to turn it into a little crane. Was used for house moving. Owner wanted I think between 10-15 grand so that might be a ball park for a good used one. The $35,000 figure was from this listing on truck paper. I think that person is looking to keep that truck for quite some time if you ask me, 29-5 is very steep (used to be 35k)

Oh I found a listing for one in VA but I lost the link, Google for m125 sale or m123 sale and you might be able to find it. Was listed for about 4500. So I would try to see if it runs and drives good then make an offer of 5k and see what the owner says.

There was a Cab over 10ton model but that one you listed dose appear to be removed from a the M123/M125 version, Must have been a repower ? . . . I got my tail tore by some MV guys for calling it a 903

I think you are correct. The V300 was standard but they might have used the 903 for re-power at some point.

WHY?

-Thad

What America needs is less bull and more Bulldog!

WHY?

because i won't be able to haul with it . . . i

I will have to tag it with these new "Historic Military Vehicle" plates which are more restrictive then F'in Collectors plate's . . .

HMV = can only drive it to show's, meets or in parades or short trip operation for maintenance purposes . . .

COL = can't drive in the month of Jan can't haul over 500lb's . . .

This above truck and my Current MV the 1953 Studebaker M275 unregistered other then the "HMV" plates . . .

My choices are:

1. parade / show.

2. yard/lawn decoration.

3. use it as a farm tractor.

4. Recycle it.

Do you have any really good friends in more "sympathetic" states, who might be willing to help out? If so,ask one of them if he/she'd be willing to buy slightly over half ownership of the truck for maybe $10.00,and license and insure it in that state. By your retaining less than half ownership, you wouldn't have the responsibility to comply, and you'd still have to give the final okay to any intended sale or trade of the truck, just in case there's a parting of the ways down the road or your friend should prove to be a less than good friend. Since the truck would be licensed and insured in another state, and a resident of another state would be the majority owner, and you're only "borrowing" it from the primary owner when you need it,I don't think they'd have much to work with. You'll want to discreetly check the rules for both states though, because they may play from a different rule book there than we do out here. :thumb:

Shame. The WHY was directed at the insane law that bans military trucks from the roads. What motivated the state to pass this law?
